A Noir- Prolouge
I starts like any ordinary day for this detective, takes a case, and of course everything changes.
-sorry for the short chapter, but got to start with something.
It always rains here; the somber mood of this city can really get to you. It's not the darkness, nor the gray solemn streets; it's more like a dismal spirit hangs over this city. I should know, as a Detective I was always knee deep in the murder that happens in this godforsaken place. Anyways there i was here I am cigarette in on hand flask of whiskey in the other, pouring over dozens of unsolved cases. I guess I should introduce myself, my name is Detective Nick Fury, or so it said on my front door.
Anyways, while searching through various cases, something caught my eye, multiple missing person cases, all in the same district of town, not only that but reports of strange sounds and lights. My mind was pouring over what this could possibly be, then suddenly a knocking came at my door. Without even waiting for my response she walked in "Hello Detective Fury." She began.
"Too late," I said, "I'm already on a case."
"That's not why I'm here." she said with a mischievous smile on her face.
"No," I said, suddenly getting up, "I'm not going through that again. I have a case to solve anyway." She pouted as I brushed past her, I would tell you her name, but that is a part of my past I don't want to uncover, not even to myself.
To be honest with myself I really wasn't going to do the case, but I took it to get away from her, and to keep myself from drinking too much. 'This should be an in and out case, simple' I thought to myself, as I got into my car. 'Just my life' I thought bitterly to myself as I put the keys into the ignition. I put my car in drive, and before I knew it I was off to the infamous Neon District. Now don't let the name fool you, of all the city districts it is one of the darkest.

After a five minute drive I arrived at the apartment of the latest missing person, there was yellow tape everywhere telling me not to cross, a quick flash of my badge said otherwise. Just like the others, no sign of a break in, no sign of a struggle, hell it looks like the person living here had just left a minute ago. "Do you know anything officer?" I asked
"Just about as much as you know Detective." He said.
"Tell me if you find anything." I said walking away.
"We were leaving anyway," he said, "stay here as long as you need."
I nodded absently, barley noticing as the police left the scene. "Okay so here's what we got," I muttered to myself, "a classic introvert, couldn't have any enemies, though in the instance of her kidnapping no one would know she would be gone." I looked at her file again, no one had seen her for weeks, but since that was her normal activity no one was really worried for so long. It was only when someone came for a scheduled visit and found her missing. While I pondered over this I heard the door open "Anything you need officer." I said turning around only to be interrupted by something solid, and very heavy, knocking me out cold.
