A Marten of a Thousand Secrets
A poem on my truthworthiness in keeping secrets.
A MARTEN OF A THOUSAND SECRETS
BY Carl Blessing/Murphy Slaugh
I can see you have something you need to say
Something heavy on your mind.
You have to get it out, but you don't want to shout
And no one you can find.
I'm here for you, and I know how to keep
My mouth shut, awake or asleep.
No threats or bribes or excessive flattery,
Will ever work, you can trust me, for I'm
Chorus:
A marten of a thousand secrets
Secrets no one will know
Tell them to me, and you will see.
To my grave they will go.
I'll prove to you, I am good as my word.
I can pretend that nothing I've heard.
There's nothing on earth to get me to say.
Let anything anyone has come my way, for I'm
A marten of thousand secrets.
You've got to let out your thoughts and feelings.
To someone on whom you can depend
Someone that can't be bought out,
Someone you can call a friend.
I'll be the one, test me, I pray.
I can be trusted any day.
I'll never tell another living soul, A keeper of secrets is my role,
But give me a chance, and you too can say, I'm
