It really didn't take Emily long to track her brother once she actually tried, sure it helped that her time as an assassin gave her the appropriate training, but the fact that Ty was a King Kong sized foxtaur made his trail decidedly easy to follow. Still, she did everything she could to not announce her visit. He didn't always know when she was coming, but they always enjoyed what little time they could have for visiting. Work always called though. She couldn't help but smile as she caught the sight of her brothers gray fur as she broke into a clearing. Her brother the foxtaur didn't notice her despite the open terrain since she could clearly see he had his eyes closed and was settled into lying down. A grin broke her face as she saw this...fun times.
Ty woke with a sneeze that sent some nearby fauna flying as he glanced about with a start...to find his sister standing on his muzzle holding the remains of a fur smiling at him. That little....
"Em!"
"Ty!"
The siblings exchange greetings and their appreciation at getting each other for a few moments while Emily moved herself from his muzzle to his shoulders as he stood. She smiled happily as she watched the landscape span out before her as if she had just shot up in the sky on a rocket. The first couple times had been disorienting, but she had grown used to it. After all, an assassin had to be adaptable. As soon as he had settled into a comfortable position for the visit, laying down on his tauric belly, she settled down on his collar bone and gave him affectionate hug to start it out. As she settled back down her brother started.
"So, meet a nice guy yet?"
After coughing at the abruptness of the question she gave him a hard look, but there was no anger in her eyes. Embarrassment was a better way to describe her reaction to his sudden interest in her love life.
"None of your business, besides, how goes your own search for a mate, hmm!?"
Ty's response is to give her the typical uneasy glance before sighing and melting his gaze to one of a forlorn sadness. Which in turn made Emily sigh, letting that discussion die there. Finding mates other than each other was still hard for them. They had been so close all this time, there was an invisible wall keeping out any others from getting close. As for Ty though, not many others were his size after all. One could still hope though, and Emily's happiness was at the fore of his mind in any case.
As it was his fault for breaking off the last conversation, he started the next one as well. Though he aimed for a topic that he knew wasn't nearly as sensitive, he'd have to tread carefully so it didn't lead to the landmine of a topic about her job, but he'd get to that soon enough. It was a main debate they could never agree on after all.
"So sis, I have got to ask who does your clothing, and if you think they would take up a job my size."
This earned a giggle from Em as she caught on to let that topic slide away as she checked herself over. She was of course wearing her typical red cloak over the rest of her clothes which usually kept her black, skin-tight undershirt out of view as well as held the holster for her swords along her back for convenient storage. She had various other items and tools stored in the dark gray pants she wore like twine and other such items to make her life as an assassin safer and keep her better prepared for any surprises. She wasn't armed to the teeth like some assassins were, but being a vulpine made her teeth their own weapons all together so that had to count for something. With a smile she shook her head and glanced over his brother who wore a simple red t-shirt and nothing on his tauric half.
"When you find someone who will make clothes for a taur of any size, then we can talk about one making something for someone your size."
In a teasing reply he remarked through a playful sneer and a bump with his muzzle.
"You found someone to make clothes for someone your size, so it shouldn't be too hard."
She of course would not stand for such an obvious attack to her figure and gave him a swift but firm stamp onto the side of his muzzle which obviously hurt but was only greeted with a smile since his tease was effective. She still looked at him crossly, she figured he was teasing, but she still enjoyed stamping him in reply. Gotta keep a big guy like him in line after all, she could totally kick his butt as far as she was concerned.
"I'm not fat and you know it!"
She humphed indignantly, she kept a very close eye on her figure and her diet. So of course she would take offense to that statement. He wasn't exactly fat either so she couldn't return it. Besides he weighed more anyway with that second half. She had no idea how he dealt with that either. She couldn't even imagine dealing with being a taur. It seemed too uncomfortable. Still, he couldn't leave well enough alone and had to speak up.
"I've already had my lunch, but what about you. Need anything?"
"No!"
Was her response as she plucked a red apple from her cloak pocket and munched it noisily. What a mean brother, but it was all in fun and she knew it. Still, when she had already devoured half the apple in silence before asking her next question.
"How is life for you Ty?"
He smiled to her and gave her a gentle, affectionate nudge with his muzzle before regaling his recent endeavors.
"Not too bad. The pay from the construction jobs are enough to cover food and board, since I can do more than twenty workers together. But, it is lonely since most of the guys in the union despise me for that. Taking their jobs, that is. Enough about me though, how goes your life as an assassin?"
He tried his best really, this was going so well for a visit. He and his sister were enjoying a nice conversation, but he had to talk about her job sometime. Despite his efforts, he could still hear the scorn at that last statement in his own voice. Checking his sister to see if she heard it, the look of a solid grimace on Em's face was a clue she heard it quite clearly. He couldn't help it, he loathed that she had turned to the life of an assassin. Not only was the job dangerous enough, but it was steeped in blood.
The tails of both siblings swayed frantic as their irritation rose, here it goes again. That ever prevalent argument about her career choice. It didn't help the argument always contained her remarking that it was what she was good at, like she had no other skills.
Emily's voice raised in anger. "How do you think it goes? I have no friends, nor can I ever really have them. That would put their lives in danger from being associated with me, an assassin. It's LONELY, Ty. You're the only one I can talk to, because nobody sane would mess with someone your size!"
Ty huffed in reply and growled back. "Then stop being an assassin! That seems to be the source of your problems after all, your reason for not having friends is because you are an assassin. You can't settle anywhere for long because you're an assassin! You can't find another mate because you're an assassin! WHY don't you just give it up!? What is stopping you from finding a job as a guard or something! Let someone else get close to you!"
She growled in frustration as she stamped his muzzle again and clenched her fists tight. He could be so dense! "If you were in my shoes, maybe you'd understand you lummox!"
Their dialogue and their consciousness both ceased after that last line, punctuated only by a smooth feminine voice that rang in the encasing darkness of their minds as they simultaneously lost consciousness.
"That sounded enough like a request~."

Waking up on the ground Ty had to admit he was sore on most of his upper torso, and he must have slept wrong since he couldn't feel his taur half, he felt like he'd landed square on his chest and just felt all sorts of wrong. Groaning he blinked open slowly, only to find his view obscured by a sea of gray. He began to chuckle since his tail must be in his face, but stopped as his chuckle sounded..off. Higher pitched? As a test he spoke.
"Hello?" Rang Emily's voice loud and clear.
Blinking in reply Ty spoke again, he couldn't hear himself over Emily, which was weird. So he sighed in relief, she was okay at least. He replied to her hello with a relieved tone.
"Em, I'm..." Spoke Emily's voice again.
Oh no. Even if Ty had started to figure it out a bit...and writhed a bit against the sea of gray before him. No dice. He couldn't feel his lower half nor could he budge more than a little. Through some creative bending he managed to shift himself around. Confirming his fears....
"Oh hell. Oh ripe hell." Spoke Ty from Emily's body once again.
Still, Ty didn't panic. Well, visibly. In his head he was going wild with thoughts. Emily's heart pounded heavily in her chest as Ty panicked. Even the thought alone of being Emily was mind boggling. Soon enough, Ty just passed out again. The world fading to black.
When Ty awoke again he found Emily's vision unobstructed by the fur as he looked up at his body towering over Emily's. Emily had to be taking the news much better than him since she was currently waltzing about leaving him on the ground stuck in her body. This seemed to shake him out of his stupor as Emily's voice yelled out.
"Are you having a good time in my body sis!?"
The right ear on Ty's head flicked in Emily's direction and his head turned to stick his massive tongue at her. To which Emily frowned and Ty responded.
"No wonder everything is so easy for you! Just being this large in itself is extremely empowering."
Emily just looked even more peeved. As she asked irately. "What....what did you do?"
Again came the sultry feminine voice as a scantily clad human female just popped out of thin air in between them smiling like a Cheshire cat. "Oh, her~? She didn't do anything but wish for you to see things through her eyes~. So, how is it pumpkin?"
The response gotten from Emily's body was an accusing point at Ty's body, "You are going to fix this."
Ty smiled at the woman of obvious magical power and said simply. "Thank you very much milady. Are there any things we should know about this spell upon us?"
The woman's legs disintegrated as she moved more into the air laughing in an eerie fashion as she came to eye level with Ty. "Of course nothing dangerous dear Emily~. Your brother just has to understand things from your point of view. Then you'll switch back to normal and with no lasting side effects...well. No big ones~."
Emily's voice groaned out as her body flopped onto the ground with a sigh. "Just...what. Am I supposed to be suddenly moved by being stuck in her body that I realize she was always right about the job being dangerous? That she is always worried about seeing tomorrow?"
Ty in the meanwhile was giggling, namely thanks to Emily's enjoyment in hearing that her brother would be stuck as her for a while longer. To herself but some in question to Ty she asked, "How do you stand being so tall....?"
Ty kept rattling on as he tried digging around in Emily's brain for clues. All he could find was memories of possible friends, possible places to make a home, even thoughts about wanting to just stay with Ty again and be happy. Ty left those thoughts alone after a bit to just retain control of the body. He didn't want to see what any of Emily's assassination jobs looked like. Emily's voice rang from her body again. "Okay Emily fine, I get it. Being an assassin sucks, I have it really easy and you have it extraordinarily hard....but my point stands. Why don't you just reinvent yourself, ditch the life of an assassin...go back to one of those guys you met along the way and try dating? And I have some of your memories in this body, so don't say there wasn't one or two guys you were interested in."
Ty's tail stopped swaying as he stared at Emily in irritation, tears building at the edge of his eyes. Through clenched teeth and barely held back from a growl Ty's voice spoke Emily's words. "You know why. You very well know why, and to hell with "reinventing" myself. Try again or you're getting stuck as me and maybe after a few contracts you'll get the idea of what to do instead."
Emily's expression was a mix of anger and hurt, but all the same Emily's voice spoke Ty's words. "Yeah..There was my other suggestion, that I really don't like as much. Maybe find a mate who is an assassin as well, or you are at least sure can take care of himself...and of you..."
There was a silken laugh from that woman floating about as she added in. "Oh no. Nothing so easy for you kiddies. She asked you to live in her shoes..that means you'll have to do her job while she does yours hun~" With that she simply disappeared with a loud crack in the air.
While Emily began babbling random complaints, Ty simply started to wander off towards where Ty had his current job, leaving Emily to sort herself out. Not having any of that, Emily sprinted after him. After all, she was in his body and there were things Emily had to know about construction. That, and how the hell was he supposed to be an assassin? Sure the body he was in was agile and flexible and in great shape, as well as any special moves he needed to know where in Em's head. He didn't want to kill anyone though! Catching up Ty yelled at the one occupying his body.
"So what, we don't get to go back unless I assassinate someone and you throw around some lumber and steel?.....How do I even get a job? I want to be me again...this is all so weird."
"YOU think it's weird? I don't know the first thing about building!" Emily growled, the deep voice of the macro's body causing woodland creatures nearby to scatter in panic. "And it's not just killing someone, Ty. It takes a lot of patience, stealth, watching the victim for habits and patterns. Even then, there's no certain chance of success. Not only do you have to slay the person when they're alone, but they often fight back. And if you're caught by the local police, you're on your own. No backup, no help."
Ty searched Emily's memories, and found that she had killed at least forty people, including prominent people, and several unfortunate witnesses that had simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time and had been unpersuasive.
"Fine, I get that." Ty grumped. "When's your next contract due to arrive?"
"It did yesterday. This job comes from a wealthy widow. She was brutally beaten by her late husband's brother because she got everything and he got nothing in the will. I only started researching the hit yesterday. He's a bodybuilder, meaning close quarter combat will most likely be out, Ty."
Ty sighed and nodded. "Alright. I get it. At least the person is guilty of something." He still didn't look happy about it. "Still, about not knowing how to build. Just follow the foreman's instructions. Tell him you feel sick or something so that's why you aren't working at your best."
Emily nodded and started moving again, slowly and reluctantly she headed for the job site. "Stay safe brother. I'm sorry....and I love you."
Ty sighed as well. Before he could even try for the contract he'd have to get combat down, and from the sounds of it use a bow or something on this guy, Still. He waved to his body walking off and replied. "Stay well sister. I love you too."
Ty headed for the town that the brother currently resided in. He had to ask around some to get any further information since apparently everyone didn't know he had lived here all this time. Eventually he contacted the brother straight to ask if he needed any help with work at his home near the slums. He wasn't quite in the slums, but it was probably the cheapest house in the middle district. The man looked Emily's body over, before laying on the sword and frowning. His response wasn't a no. It was to close the door as the universal sign of, go away. She didn't, of course. Instead, she found a nearby mossy outcropping and took to camouflaging herself in it with ferns to watch over him and get some necessary information.
The man definitely had a guilty conscience, that, or he could feel Ty watching him from his spot. He continuously checked around himself suspiciously even if he was simply tending his garden. He seemed pretty good at it too, from what Ty knew anyways. He watered every plant in the garden before going inside, getting changed, and left to work. Of course, Ty tailed him all the way to the general store for food and the like. He thought about going shopping in there and dismiss it as an convenience that they were in the same place again.
So instead he browsed around the target's home, looking for a good vantage point to watch or fire a shot. The best place for a stealthy camp out would be the roofs, but who wouldn't check the roofs at night? It should practically be in city guard basic training. Looking for a thief or murderer? Check the roof. Yet after watching them all day, they never looked to the skies. Yes, the roofs could be treacherous and slippery, but with current body it wouldn't be any trouble for Ty to move a bout quickly. So he climbed up and checked what kind of vantage he could get on the house. If he was to kill the bodybuilder, he'd want to do it while the man was in his house so he could get some distance away before anyone noticed the man was dead. It wasn't exactly a rock solid plan, but he wasn't exactly his sister. The roof gave him the best vantage point by the bedroom window. He could only see half the room, and sadly not the bed.
So he waited for 4 days to make sure his plan would work. He was pretty regular about tending to his garden before going to work near noon every day, but otherwise didn't follow any sort of predetermined schedule other then gardening and work. Still he'd bought a nice arrow for the bow. The arrow tip exceptionally weighted to pierce a window without losing it's original trajectory, and waited for him to bum around doing nothing important. Reading a book, working out on some weights, before he finally went into the room. By that time the moon was high in the sky, but concealed behind a veil of clouds. He was sore from lying in weight for so long for the target to actually get somewhere he would move less and just get ready for bed. Ty notched the arrow and drew back his string, the sudden thought now occurring to him to use poison to make sure it killed. Great. Now he was thinking like a seasoned killer. His attention snapped to the window as he stepped up to it to close the blinds. A loosed arrow. The sound of shattering glass and a grunt of pain accompanying a shtick sound as the arrow tore flesh.
He stumbled for a full few seconds as the arrow stuck out of his collar bone. Ty had missed his heart, and his neck, but sunk it at the middle point and still managed to slash an artery. Blood seeped from around the stem as the target finally fell with a thud. Already footsteps could be heard below, responding to the sound of broken glass. Ty ran. Leaving bow behind in his sudden panic, adrenaline pumping him along the path as he just tore away from the town. He was aiming for his work site at full tilt. Pounding paws and quick breath were the only sounds he heard. He felt the branches of the growth whip along him as he tore. Slashing through fur and cloth as he went.
He didn't remember falling asleep at all. He just remembered waking up high in a tree, nestled in amongst some branches. Hopefully he looked at himself, only to be disappointed as he was still in Emily's body. Great. Not only had he killed someone, but he was still stuck in his sister's body. In a bit of a sour mood, he made his way out of the tree and looked around. He was a mile away from the work site and it was about 9 a.m. By the looks of it, he could get there by noon if he walked. So he paced himself at a jog. Muscles weary and stressed after his flight last night. The guards would more then likely have found the body and the bow so he was glad he bolted.
After about an hour and a half of weaving through the rough uneven terrain, he could see his body working diligently on site and smiled, picking up his pace to reach the site. When he got there, he distinctly had an idea what it was like to be the little guy. His body was a working machine, and it was honestly intimidating to watch, it gave him a bit more experience why his other co-workers disliked him some. So instead of approaching his body and by design, his sister. He simply waited for lunch break.
It felt like forever before Emily walked up, having noticed him before, but she didn't seem all as cheery as before. She could tell her brother was bothered, and as if speaking on her cue. He shuddered and looked up to her.
"Em, I'm really sorry about giving you a hard time about your job...just..stay safe alright? If a job is too risky...give it up? Please?"
Emily blinked in reply and opened her mouth with a smile...before everything went blank again. Thankfully in the time it took to gasp for air she was looking back up at her brother in his own body.
She was more surprised it was so seamless, the last time they'd passed out, and this time it was sort of a cop out...well except the fact she became aware of a cascade of stinging cuts on her. She glared up at Ty. "Just because it wasn't you body doesn't mean it was time for a joyride!"
Ty smiled to her, picked her up, gave her a dainty lick which sent her sputtering and a hug. His ear twitched before he smiled to her and started to walk off. "My lunch break is over..but if you find someone you really like Em, bring him by. I'll keep him safe and I'll grill him to see if he's good enough for my sister alright?"
She blinked at this and smiled a bit. He was actually not going to bug her about her job anymore? Well, it wasn't exactly supporting her, but it was a step in the right direction. Besides, she left a little gift for him that she was going to get an earful next time she visit. Thus the only reason she tore off. She barely got a few feet before she heard a thundering growl, sending her giggling and running faster!
"Emily!!!!"
It'd take a while to get the bright pink dye out of his fur, no matter how nice it looked making a nice heart shape on his underbelly.
