Light and Dark: Stories of the Past 1
#1 of Light and Dark
FINALLY!!! A NEW STORY!! 8D dies
Anywho, figured I'd at least attempt this scribbling based on the Shadow Beast and Sun Being race I thought up and my own fursona's background. It's been a long while since writing or uploading so uh... here it is and hope ya enjoy.
Chapter 1
?
Many years ago, in the land of Terra-Mari, the flames of war swept across the mountains and valleys. A war that pit brother against brother, father against son, all to eliminate a race of elementals come to be known as 'Shadow Beasts'.
Shadow Beasts, or demons, said to be born of the darkest nights, shadows made flesh, with blood filled eyes that would mean a persons final breath among the living. As with all elementals, they lived amongst the dark and could control it at will.
The 'Sun Beings', or angels, were the opposite, blessed by the gods and angels, formed from the purest light with crystal eyes that would calm the mightiest of beasts. Light danced from their fingertips with everything they did.
These 2 races once lived peacefully as 1. Brothers and sisters, sons and daughters of both light and dark. The angels took to the roles of healers and teachers while demons served as hunters and guardians. Many nobles called upon the demons for their services as skilled warriors. As many nobles called upon angels to teach the young nobles so they would learn and grow. Life was peaceful and happy for everyone...
And usual with these stories, that peace was held on a tenuous string that was about to snap.
It was a warm summer day in the royal capital city where the spark started the war. A young shadow wolf was on his way to his first job as a guard at a local store when he ran into 3 angels. The details of what truly happened and who was to blame were sketchy at best even now. All accounts report the 3 elder angels stood ready to kill the young male, but there was never anything to say who struck first.
But I know the truth behind what happened that day...
The young wolf was excited to finally have gotten his first job and excited to make his father proud of his ability as a warrior. He was rushing to the store after having been slow to rise that particular morning. Rounding a corner he had accidentally bumped into 1 of the 3 elder angels...
Master Ellton, a towering unicorn stallion known for his strength and skill with his battle axe. Beside him was Master Volinn, a cunning fox and skilled tactician, and Lady Lunoss, a slender and agile feline, as skilled with her harp as she is with her whip. All 3, skilled veterans of combat and known for their distaste of demons.
Now while would blame the youth, and as many may argue that Ellton was truly to blame. I can tell you the true blame lay with the Lady Lunoss for having dealt the first blow.
See, as the young male staggered back, she drew her whip and quickly wrapped it about his neck before he was able to even utter an apology. As she lectured and went on, the youth managed to loosen the whip just enough to jump free and draw his own sword to deflect another whip strike. It was just enough reason as they wanted...
Within a matter of minutes, the youth was cornered, panting heavily from barely dodging each whip strike or axe swing. It was pure luck he was able to avoid Volinn's darts and throwing knives. And now as he stood with his back pressed hard against the alley corner, he readied himself for death's greeting.
As Ellton raised his axe high, the youth readied to block only to find himself waiting...
Cautiously opening his eyes, he found Ellton laying face first on the ground, an arrow buried in the back of his skull. Volinn and Lunoss having forgotten him as they fought off the other demons. Amongst the fighting was the youth's own father...
A short time later they returned home, tired, beat, and injured... A funeral was to be planned for Ellton and Volinn, Lunoss seemly having fanished. Just as the youth and his parents did that same night.
They continued running as the flames of war grew and grew into an infernal bonfire, finally settling down and making a new life in a cabin, hidden deep in a forest. The mother and father later passing away, leaving the youth and his baby sister to grow and live in that forest cabin as the war continued on.
Now if you've not figured it out, I know all this while the so called 'historians' can keep guessing 'til they're blue in the face simply because I was there. I remember watching the grins all 3 wore when they thought that cat's whip would simply choke me to death. Course, as for what really happened to her... Well that's another story for another time.
