The Memory Chapter One Darkness, that's all that surrounded the entire area. He looked up from the old palette on the floor -- He was startled to see someone standing there. He couldn't make out their face, some sort of fox, but he couldn't tell for sure. "Get up, it's time," the fox said with anger. Was he red? Crimson? Erinn couldn't see anything but a small oil lantern placed on a table nearby. He did as he was commanded, then was shoved into a small room. The room consisted of a table, two chairs, and a tape recorder on the table. The was a single light bulb dangling from the ceiling. "Take a seat, Erinn." Erinn, did not recognize this voice, and it startled him greatly. Again, he did as he was told and sat down cautiously. Where am I? he wondered. Is this some joke? Then, the last thing he sees is a great flash of light then -- "Erinn! Get up, class is almost over." "Huh? Oh, thanks Ava..." Erinn sat up from his desk. Was it a dream? It was so vivid. Erinn glanced around the classroom. Ms. Burrows was still sitting quietly at her desk, then she looked up and scowled at him. "Well, well, well, look who decided to wake up three minutes before class ends. Looks like a new record -- I want to see you after class," Ms. Burrows said with haste. "I didn't think she noticed you were sleeping, she's like a hawk," Ava whispered to Erinn. "Me neither, but I can't say anything. I was asleep. I had that dream again -- or nightmare," Erinn told Ava. Ava had this weird look frozen on her face, a mixture between grief and disappointment. "You need to tell me more about those dreams, I want to help," said Ava. "I really want to help you. I noticed that you stirred in your sleep, but I didn't want to interrupt Ms. Burrows, you know how she gets." Erinn couldn't agree more, he knew that Ava had wanted to help him since he started having these dreams. The first time she noticed was when they had slept together a few months before. Not that they had done anything, they just... 'cuddled'. "Ava, the dreams I have are extremely vivid, but I can't explain them to you -- I just can't." This seemed to upset Ava a little. She too had these so called dreams, but had opened up to Erinn. Now, Erinn instinctively got up and hugged her. "I just want you to know that --" The bell rung, and everyone stumbled out of their seats to go to their next period class.
