#5 of The legend of Spyro: Cynder’s love

*Sigh* there.... There you go. *rubs temples wif claws*

Ugghh!!! I'm not mad at any of you guys I'm mad at myself for taking so fucking long to do this one.

But I did want to get chapters up for my other series.... And I had to buckle down for finals.... And my computer puked....

But on the bright side this is the first story you guys are getting from my room-mates and I's new laptop, Tabatha. (We both paid half)$$$

And I'll get moar chaps out faster next time and when I say faster I don't mean you'll all have to wait 3 months. No I'm not doing that to you guy again.

And I'd like to just apologize to all of my watchers (all 63 of you......that is the current # of watchers I have, by the next time I could have more, I could have less.)

But in all I hope this chapter can reawaken your guy's faith in me and this series.

No offense but there are a lot of Spyro and Cynder stories out now. And I'm not looking for an ego boost but I think it's funny that I kinda started the whole Spyro/Cynder craze.

Now granted I got the idea from kropqar. And if I hadn't then someone else would've but it's something that I can look at with some kind of accomplishment that's all. :)

But anyway just to tell you about this, the title for this chapter I got from one of my all-time fav movies. See if you can guess what movie it is.

So yea here is the VERY overdue chapter 5 in the legend of Spyro: Cynder's love. Plez leave comments. I want to know how I did first chapter back...

P.S. thanks again for the pic frost.

Hope you can get back to doing yiffy pics sometime.

In the absence of light...

Cynder woke up unusually early that morning, as she could feel so refreshed, and saw no need for any more sleep.

Yawning and clumsily raising her head. She soon felt something at her side. She turned her head quickly, sensing danger.

But all she saw was a purple dragon passed out cold, lying on his back next to her. Mouth open, tongue hanging, out and snoring silently.

She tried so hard to not burst out laughing uncontrollably and merely just giggled at the sight of him. As he just turned and found a more comfortable position.

Cynder's thoughts soon drifted lazily back to the night before.... Nothing could describe it.... Nothing could even come close. But she knew one thing it was. It was love... the deepest love imaginable.

"How did I end up with the legendary purple dragon?"

She giggled again and looked down at the beat dragon before her and leaned down close to him.

"You rest and I'll go get us some breakfast.... Purple boy."

She loved his little nickname given to him by Sparx. It suited him.

He was the kind of dragon that everyone could love. He was always so kind. So forgiving and he never cared about himself.... Yes she was lucky.

Within a few minutes she trotted out of the cave and over to the river to do a bit of fishing.

She stood at the river's edge and dunked in her head, prowling the depths of the riverbottem for a tasty snack for her and Spyro. And it wasn't long before a big juicy fish passed by, not even noticing her there. Making the first perfect catch.

She swiped her paw into the water and instantly pined it to the bottom before scooping it up and tossing it to shore. Just as she got that one many more began to pass by. She was so ecstatic that she jumped in and began making passes at the school of fish, grabbing them in her maw and tossing them out of the water and onto the shore, until

He had more than enough for both her and Spyro.

She piled up some wood and with a small lick of fire; she already had a bed of Coles to cook with. And with one swipe, the fish were all laying in a row on the hot Coles, slowly being cooked from all sides.

She was quite pleased with herself as she left the fish to cook and trotted off for a stroll before Spyro was up.

She walked a ways, following the river. Admiring the warm morning sun and the cool dew-covered ground beneath her feet. And with a sigh she let her thoughts wander back to last night again.

Everything about last night was beyond the word perfect could describe. Nothing could have even came close to being compared to what it was like. It truly was bliss. Not just pleasure but complete happiness, just being with that purple dragon was enough to send her mind into a tizzy. How she loved it.

With the way things unfolded now. That horrible life she had before all this was less than a memory. But she did remember it now and again... all the times she took innocent life, all the times she sent her armies out to literally wipe out entire villages without so much as a single thought of remorse. In fact she liked it. It gave her some sick feeling that now just made her ill.

Her master always said that she was the greatest of his disciples... more powerful tan Gual, wiser than any of the half-brained shadows that served him and more useful than some of the worthless apes she lead.

Yes she was the one he saw the most potential in.

Still his voice was clear in her head as the memories of her master came back.

"You will be my most treasured instrument Cynder.... It is with this trust, that I bestow the honor of reuniting me with this world. And for that, you shall be greatly rewarded. For you are the only one I trust in this task..."

She remembered being so honored that her master believed in her. She loved the power that his darkness gave her.

But she always would ask herself. Even now. Was it worth it?

The years of torment, the agonizing pain, the number of innocent lives lost, the horrible and traumatizing things she did when she was but a hatchling.

"It will toughen you up!!!!" Gual would always say. "It will keep you strong to better serve our master!"

But was it all worth it...

As she looked back at it now... no.... No!!! None of it was. Deep down all she ever wanted was... well... she never even knew what she wanted. But she knew it certainly wasn't that!

They used to speak of her as if she were just a tool. And in retrospect, that's all she was to them... a tool. To be used and discarded like a piece of trash!

But none of that mattered now. Because she was free from him and his horrible rule he had over her. And she couldn't be happier.

"You were born to serve me. You have no other purpose! Remember that! Cynder"

She grew angrier the more she thought of all the things her master used to tell her. All the things she was looked at to do. All for what? To be treated like that?

She kicked a stone into the river in pure anger.

"Well what have you to say now? "Master" huh? Nothing!"

She turned and began to head back to the river. She was about half way there when her whole body grew numb... her legs were growing tired... and soon she felt like a metal club bludgeoned her right in the back of the head... she never stood a chance. And within seconds, was on the ground. Out cold.

***

It was all so strange... she awoke, lying on the ground... or at least it looked like the ground... it was all so dark. The only thing she could see was the small wreaths of what looked like smoke, slowly trial across the ground. She felt so scared. But at the same time. A part of her felt very at home in this dark void. She was about to attempt to rise, when a hollow voice. One that could only belong to someone with a soul of pure malice in their veins, spoke.

"To answer your question.... I say you've been a very bad little dragon... Cynder..."

That voice.... That horrid voice that she once loved to hear, but now only sent her into a fit of severe trembling. She wanted to crawl in a ball and pray that it would just go away... she franticly spun her head around to see where the voice came from, when she realized it was right in front of her. She looked up and as it seemed the Dark wreaths just joined together right in front of her eyes. And there stood a massive shadow-looking dragon.

She bowed her head just on an impulse and whimpered in insurmountable fear.... For he was here right before her.... This was her old master...

Before she knew it, she was hoisted off the ground by the dark smoke that still stretched across the ground and held at eye-level to the huge monster. All she could do was stair into those eyes of pure cruelty and weep.

"Oh. Come now Cynder... are you not happy to see your master again?"

She just looked down in fear.

A dark string of smoke wrapped around her neck. Forcing her gaze to meet his.

"You still have a job to do Cynder! Have you forgotten what responsibility has been bestowed upon you?"

She began to cry

"LEAVE ME ALONE!!! I DON'T SERVE YOU ANYMORE!!!!"

He smiled the way a predator looks on the face of their petrified prey.

"Oh but you do Cynder... otherwise. You would not be here. I know there is a part of you that wants to serve me. A part that pleads to be back in the darkness, where you belong... you loved the power it gives you. It makes you unstoppable. And you know it to be true!"

She just looked at him

"Not anymore... I was defeated.... And returned to the life I was meant to live!"

He grew enraged at that and hurled the small dragoness to the ground.

"HOW DARE YOU! IT WAS I WHO SAVED YOU FROM THE SLAUGHTER THAT NIGHT! IT WAS GUAL WHO RAISED YOU! "

He stopped...

"And I who gave you that power that has yet to be reawakened..."

She jumped to her feet and turned to try and run. But where would she go...? This was his realm, he would always find her.

As she started to run, the surrounding darkness began to crawl towards her. It wrapped around her feet and held her firmly in place. She struggled violently, screaming for someone to save her... anyone....

The wreaths of darkness around her legs forced her to lie on her stomach. As she strained in protest to no avail whatsoever. And looked up to see the huge shadow-like dragon looming over her once again, with that cold vacant stair in his eyes.

"Please Spyro... I need you..."

Her master herd her pleas for the purple whelp and couldn't stop from chuckling.

"You think that little weakling can help you now? Or ever could? When you are restored he will look at you just as everyone does. As a monster! And he'll try and kill you. But will fail..."

He was cut off...

"NO! He would never do that!!! He's the kindest most loving creature I could have had the honor to meet!!!!"

She paused at what she was about to say next.

"....And he loves me..."

That only made her master cringe with laughter.

"LOVE!?! There's no such thing!!! All you are to him is a fuck toy. For him to use whenever he likes. Nothing more. He will turn on you, just as will everyone you ever thought cared for you. He hates you."

She just violently shook her head.

"No he wouldn't!!!!!!!... he would never.... Never..."

"Cynder.... Can you not see what is right in front of you? I am the only one who cares for you. Because you're the closest thing I've ever had to a daughter."

That brought her too far.

"NO!!!!! I'M NOTHING LIKE YOU!! I hate you!!! And I'll never go back to serving under you!!"

He just sighed

"I was hoping to bring you back on your own accord but it seems that little purple nuisance had poisoned your mind too much to see. But just know I didn't want to do this Cynder..."

With that last statement she saw him lifting a massive black shadowy paw and bringing it to her face. She continued to scream and pull hard on her bindings, but nothing worked.

He grabbed her entire head in his paw and closed his claws around her, muffling her cries for help. Will an evil smile on his face he slightly squeezed her head in his massive grasp. For Cynder this was worse than the worst hell imaginable, because the second his shadowy form touched her, she was engulfed in wave after wave of agonizing pain. As if her vary bones were being vibrated and ripped from her body. She felt the surge of energy being forced in her. And after only a minute of this torture she blacked out. Not from the fear, but the unsurpassable amount of indescribable pain, so much so her mind could no longer take the stress.

As he felt her tiny body go limp around his paw he merely chuckled and released her. Cynder immediately felt to the ground barley breathing.

Her master leaned down close to her unconsciousness form and whispered.

"I've given you back what is truly and rightfully yours Cynder... Now kill the ones who hurt you and make them suffer for denying you your destiny..."

***

Spyro slowly opened his eyes, but immediately closed them when he felt the warm wind from the fire outside that was blown into the cave. Mistaking it for Cynder playing smoke games across his scales.

"Not yet Cynder... please just a few more minutes...."

He slowly opened them again when the feeling persisted. Spyro got up and turned his head figuring to see that voluptuous black and red dragoness he felt so honored to love sitting there in front of him.

But when he turned he saw nothing... just the mouth of the cave and the crackling fire outside. He was slightly saddened but soon smelt the mouth watering smell of the still cooking fish next to the flames of the fire. He hopped up and trotted outside hoping to see her swimming in the river or laying out of site somewhere. Once he got to the fire he flicked the fish over with his tail to cook them evenly and scooped the already done ones out, so not to overcook and burn them.

Still there was no sign of Cynder anywhere. He assumed she went out for a morning flight or something and went to pick up one of the cooked fish that looked the juiciest. He was mere moments from biting into it when her herd the worst sound in the world. A far off scream. Very quiet but still very distinctive..... Cynder's....

He dropped the fish and almost put out the fire with the amount of wind he produced as he took off running towards the source of the sound.

As Spyro ran, the scream became louder and more clear, all he could think about was getting to her in time.

"...please let her be alright... I can't lose her...."

Spyro headed father up the river until the screaming was defining, as if it was drilling right into him head. It didn't take long to find her. She was just off the edge of the river in the woods. The mere sight of her just laying on the ground screaming for him in unbelievable pain was enough to make Spyro's heart stop mid-beat. He could feel his once racing blood stand still in his veins. But he did not; he leapt right to her side. He lifted her head up trying to tell her he was there. But between her sealed eyes and her ear piercing screams there was no way she heard him. He panicked. What could he do... he had to stop this! But just then a thought came through his panicked mind and he acted on pure instinct. He buried his face in her neck and nuzzled her relentlessly. Holding her close to his stricken body.

She stopped...

He kissed her neck.

"I'm here Cynder... please... I'm right her..."

***

Cynder felt herself being warmed. But there was no heat source to be doing it. Everything was still black. But the pain had at least subsided.

She started to feel a loving touch on her neck. She put her paw to it but felt nothing there, yet the warm feeling continued...

***

Cynder groaned slightly in Spyros grasp as he kept stroking her neck with his face. He was almost ecstatic but he knew she was far from waking.

He did know one thing though... get her back to the temple! That was all that went into his mind. But just as he started to pick her limp form up. He heard a loud growl, and saw figures out of the corner of his eye.

He no sooner turned his head, and was struck in the side by a large metal club. Sending him flying and dropping Cynder immediately.

He sorely began raised himself back to his feet when another blow to the head forced him back down. At that moment time seemed to slow, and with his face in the dirt she could clearly hear the huge club whistling through the air back down towards him.

With that in mind he rolled over at the speed of sound onto his back and shoot a powerful earth burst right into the plexus of what he soon realized to be a huge ape.

The ape landed dead on his back. All his rib bones shattered from the powerful blast at that proximity.

Spyro leapt to him feet and looked around to see something he really didn't want to.

A large group of apes and shadow creatures all standing around him. Some right in front, other to the side. As well as a few farther in the woods.

One of them looked over at Cynder who was still unconscious.

"That's her. That's the one the master wants."

But just as the ape leaned down to pick her up. There was an absolutely bellowing roar. One so loud the all had to cover their ears to keep from going deaf.

All of them soon looked at what caused the roar.... It couldn't have been from that tiny dragon....

With smoke pouring out his nostrils and steam crackling from between his jaws he spoke in a tone that sheer ice running their spines.

"If you DARE touch a single scale on her..... I'll rip out your guts and shove them down each and every one of your throats!!!!!"

The threat did not go unheeded but soon one of them snorted and went to pick her up. He didn't last too long....

With a single blast of fire he was 10ft away and on the ground, his face sizzling.

Several other left on top of Spyro, he shook off some but most held firm. Spyro tensed all his muscles and made electricity surge all over his body. The remaining apes were instantly blown off of him.

Everyone backed off looking at the pissed purple dragon in front of them.

But Spyro just stood there with that -who's next?"- look on his face.

But in one huge wave, all attacked him at once. Spyro reacted quickly blowing ice on the ground and adding it up, making a sort of small ice barricade, while he shoot fire balls into the small crowd of enemies. But the ice was a mere deterrent and eventually they got passed. Spyro kicked, clawed, bit and blasted away as many as he could. But he seemed to be weaker than usual. He was so handicapped by the fact he could use none of the team moves he and Cynder learned together. And that time away from solo training was really beginning to show.

After nearly 10 minutes Spyro managed to chip away half of their numbers but it seemed as if every ape or shadow that fell, another was right there to take its place.

"Come!!! On!!! There can't be this many of y-"

Spyro was cut off by a cheap shot between the hindquarters.

He curled his tail up between his legs and griped his sheath with both paws, thus sending his face into the dirt once more.

Spyro knew he couldn't stay lying on the ground for long, so he just rolled and tried to get back up, but in his state he was no match for the reaming enemies and easily subdued.

He was picked up and held in a head-lock by a large ape. How ironic he was so close to winning for as he looked around there were two apes a few shadows and a pawful of underlings left.

He tried to get free and ignore the pain on his sheath but was held fast by the ape. The other ape slowly walked over to Cynder who was still out cold.

Spyro growled and make threats but he might as well been talking to Sparx.

The ape picked up the dragoness and turned.

"She is all we need. Make the purple whelp suffer!"

Spyro clawed at the apes arm and roared.

"NO!!!!! PUT HER DOWN YOU DAMN PICE A-"

Spyro was instantly interrupted by a loud crack. And watch the ape that carried Cynder fall to the ground.

The ape holding Spyro threw the small dragon into the river and ran to help his fallen comrade. Spyro swam to the surface only to head a muffled gasp. He grabbed the bank of the river and looked back over at the apes. One was still on the ground, a puddle of blood forming around him. But the other who was still standing appeared to have something on his shoulder. Spyro looked closer, only to realize it was Cynder. Perched on the larger ape's shoulder, with the blade of her tail driven right through the back of his neck.

The ape dropped to his knees, Cynder leapt off him and dashed to the underlings, who already began to run in fear. Spyro watched from the river as they were all picked off one by one and butchered.

"What the HELL is going on?!?"

He thought amides the screams of terror and cries of pain from the enemy forces.

But it wasn't long before it all stopped... everything whet completely silent, save for the labored gasps of a small ape underling. Spyro shook off his dizziness and saw Cynder standing over the dying creature. And with one paw, she placed it upon his head and with a crunch; she broke his neck and cracked his face in.

All Spyro could do was look around dumbstruck... it looked as if a massacre took place here! Everything nearby was coated in a thick layer of blood, bodies of apes strewn about. But what troubled his the most was the dragoness that stood before him; her back was still turned...

"....Cynder?....Cynder, is that you?...."

What Spyro saw as she turned made him back away in fear.

For what he saw was not the dragoness he knew, but a killing machine.

Her eyes lost their pupils, and glowed bright blood red... ape blood covered her paws and tail. And her whole body took on a darker blacken color, and small wreaths of darkness seemed to fall from her scales.

She growled when she saw the purple dragon. Getting in an attack stance, she began circling him.

Spyro saw this and immediately began to back away a bit

"Cynder it's me, don't you recognize me?"

Her only response was a full on charge, Spyro rolled to the side to avoid being tackled. But the minute she saw him doge her she lounged at him, claws and teeth bared. He again tried to move but was nowhere near as fast as her. She grabbed his hip and sunk her claws in, allowing her to get up to the back of his neck. Cynder just bit down as hard as she could. Spyro roared and attempted to shake her off but she wrapped her tail around one of his hind legs and forced him onto his stomach, then moved her jaws up to the base of Spyro's skull. Both knew this was the best spot for her to get a clean kill.

Spyro instantly froze, and just laid there. Motionless. Cynder did the same. They just sat there. The only sound was Cynder's deep growl. Spyro turned his head as far as she would let him.

"Cynder.... It's me... your under someone's control. Please.... I know my mate is in there."

Spyro felt her loosen her grip on his neck. But then as if she was struggling with something. She tried to speak. But it didn't last long for she had clenched her teeth around him again.

No. she knew this dragon had to die!

Cynder slowly mover her tail around him and brought the blade of it up to his neck. Spyro gasped as she did.

Cynder just chuckled around Spyro's freely bleeding neck as she moved her tail back and forth, just letting it cut his skin.

Spyro took a deep breath and opened his mouth to speak.

"No matter what Cynder... I love you!"

He laid his head down and closed his eyes. All she had to do was slice his neck.

"Kill him Cynder; he's caused you nothing but pain!"

A booming voice echoed in her head"

"No he's my mate! What am I doing?!?"

"You're fulfilling your destiny Cynder!"

She looked down at her blood stained claws that were still buried in Spyro's back and shoulder.

"Do it Cynder! Make him pay for what he did to you in convexity!"

She remembered what he did... he released her... and not only that. But in a selfless act... he saved her life.

Spyro felt her release his neck and began to lick his blood flowing cuts.

"C-Cynder?"

She got off him. But so sooner than that she collapsed on the ground, grabbed the sides of her head and roared in pain again.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!?! CYNDER!!!! YOU OBAY ME!!! I GAVE YOU BACK YOU POWER!!!"

She clenched her claws into the sides of her head so tightly, Spyro began to see blood.

Then she screamed louder than he'd ever heard.

"I'M NOT YOUR SERVENT ANYMOAAAAAAAR!!!"

With that she collapsed and fell silent... completely limp...

Spyro rushed over to her and looked for any signs of life. He saw her chest rising and lowering ever so slowly, her slow, stricken breaths worried him. As if they could stop at any moment. Her body slowly returned to its natural aura but still her scales remained a bit darker.

"I have to get her to the temple..... I have to get her to the temple....."

That's all Spyro could think about, getting her someplace safe.

He picked her up and took off quickly.

"Cynder... what's happening?

i don't even think i need to put a to be continued here to keep you reading.

(that is, if you liked it)
