Together: Part 1
#1 of Together
Fletch was on one of his normal lunch-time walks through the park, he was completely spaced, off in la-la land as some may say, as usual, and ran into someone, sending them both to the ground, he sat up, shook his head, luckily he didn't hit it in the sidewalk. He looked over to the one that he had run into. She was frantically picking up her books. She was beautiful, he thought. She was a beautiful chocolate color on her back and half of her face, from her muzzle, and down her neck, chest and on the inside of her legs were a wonderful cream color. She seemed to glow, or was it just because of the glare of the sun off the small pond in the center of the park. He smiled. "I'm sorry," she said, still picking up her books, "I should have been watching where I was going," she had backed her ears, almost worried he was going to explode.
He smiled yet again, "No, it is me who should have been watching," he said. They both stood up in unison, he had grabbed a book she had overlooked.
She had looked at him and seen who it was she ran into. "Oh hey, Fletch!" she gave him a hug.
You missed this one," he said, holding it up, she took it and thanked him.
"May I walk you to class?" he asked.
"That's ok with me," she smiled again, and walked beside him. "You know I really don't like it when our teacher schedules a lecture, he has a very monotone voice that will get on anybody's nerves."
He laughed, "I know exactly what you mean."
They were both relieved to find that the class was canceled and there would not be a lecture. There was a sign on the classroom door saying so.
"Heh, now what?" Fletch asked, then he heard a small growl to his right. He turned around quickly, it turned out that it was AJ's stomach. Apparently she had missed lunch and was practically starving, because she groaned. "Hungry?" Fletch asked with a smirk.
"Starving," she said.
"Want to come over to my place, I can cook you some lunch, the cafeteria is closed today for some reason," he asked
She smiled and nodded. Fletch lived off campus in the nearest apartment complex. They talked in light conversation as they walked there. She was looking over his form, which wouldn't be the first time she did so, he had almost the same markings as her, except where she was chocolate brown, and he was a reddish orange color. They reached the front door of the building. Fletch fumbled in his pocket for the key, "Damn it," he said, "I forgot my key." He buzzed his neighbor.
"Yes?" Benji answered.
"I left my key, let me in would ya?" he asked.
"Oh little Fletchy forgot his key, what ever shall we do?" Benji joked.
There was a small smack. "OW!" Benji called out.
"Be nice Benji!" said another voice through the mic, "come on up Fletch," the voice said. It was Less, Benji's boyfriend. The buzzer sounded and Fletch held the door for AJ.
"Why do you have to hit my ass so hard?" Benji asked.
"Because I can," Less snickered, "and you are still holding the button."
AJ and Fletch both laughed.
"What? I'm not...AAH!" he quickly shut it off.
They were still laughing as they hit the elevator and boarded. They did their best to calm themselves as the elevator stopped at the top floor. The doors opened and they stepped out into the hallway. They came to Fletch's door, looked over the one next door, and snorted with laughter again and Fletch quickly opened the door and they hurried in. Breathless, they flopped onto the couch to catch their breath.
After they had done so, he said, "Right, lunch," and he got up and began to make it.
Rare hamburgers were today's menu. He asked her if that was alright, she was already drooling uncontrollably at the thought of it. She quickly licked her chops, hoping he didn't see but he did.
He smiled, "don't worry it's gonna be good." He put on some cooking gloves so he didn't get stray fur in it while he was handling the food. He got some beef out he had been thawing, seasoned it, molded it, you know, everything that has to do with cooking a homemade hamburger. Within 15-20 minutes they both had a juicy, melt in your mouth, tastiest burgers you would ever sink your teeth into. He poured them both a glass of Pepsi. They ate in silence because their mouths were full with food instead of words. AJ looked like she was in heaven, as if she hadn't had anything this good in ages. Fast food will do that to ya.
"You looked like u enjoyed that," he smirked.
"Oh yes, very much so, it was wonderful!" she was beaming.
"Hmm.... I'll be right back." He left to the kitchen, and came back with 2 bowls of Cherry ice cream. "Here you go," he said with a smile.
"Thanks," she said, taking it. She was about to start eating when a loud BOOM echoed through the apartment and she nearly dropped it. They both turned to look out the window to see it had clouded up really quickly and was pouring, and it looked like it wasn't about to stop anytime soon.
She looked at him, "um, um..." she stammered.
He politely held up a paw to silence her. "You can stay here tonight if it doesn't stop."
She was a little taken aback by his offer. Seeing how she had never been over at his apartment before, let alone been offered a bed for the night. She accepted because of the fact she didn't want to walk a mile and a half in the rain and be waterlogged by the time she got to her dorm. He noticed her hesitation.
"Don't worry, you don't have anything to worry about," he assured her. She smiled at this.
"Thanks, Fletch," she said. The rest of the day passed without much more than casual talk and online games between Fletch's computers, seeing how he had two, one for games, and one for school. The rain had not faltered any, if anything it had gotten worse. Finally AJ was getting tired, she was yawning widely, as well as Fletch was. He offered her his bed, and he would take the couch.
"Oh...I couldn't take your bed," she said, "it's your bed, you should use it."
He shook his head with a smile, "no, I insist."
She hugged him tightly. "Fletch, why are you so nice to me?" She asked in a way that sounded as if she needed an answer.
"Because... because I...I like you AJ, I really like you," he said, hesitantly.
She pulled back far enough so she could look at him. She paused for a second. "Why haven't you said anything?" she asked.
He looked downward a bit, "because I was afraid... afraid you wouldn't even talk to me anymore..." he said.
She lifted his muzzle up with her paw. "Why would you think that?" she asked, looking into his eyes.
"I...I don't know. I guess it is because I didn't want to lose you, you are the only girl to show me any kind of kindness..." He looked down again.
She again lifted his muzzle with her paw, and leaned in slowly and kissed him softly on the lips.
It took him a few minutes to realize exactly what she had done. He then pushed back into her kiss, returning it. She pulled away, giving him a very warm smile, and then almost instantly they were locked in another kiss. She slipped her tongue into his mouth, letting it play with his, and he pushed back on it with his own. They slowly moved to the couch and sank into it. If it weren't for the fact of them being tired, they would have continued. Instead she lowered her head and placed it on his chest, slowly drifting off to sleep.
He wrapped his arms around her and laid his head on top of hers and sat there on the end of the couch, thinking, "Wow, the one I've loved for the longest time...she is in my arms...ill never let her go, ill never do anything to hurt her, ever." He looked down at her, thinking she looked so peaceful laying there. He laid his head back on top hers and slowly drifted off to sleep.
