Baxley helps a family
the ending was a bit rushed sorry
Baxley laid on his couch going over his payments that he's received from recent jobs. It was a cloudy night and he planned on enjoying it with sometime of piece before going out and having a good time. He wore a blood red collar with black pawprints on it, a red short sleeved dress shirt, black jeans, reading glasses, four hoop earrings on his right ear, and tape wrapped around his feetpaws and wrists. The song "this is halloween" by Marylin Mason was playing on the stereo.
Baxley took off his glasses and put his money in an envolope, before getting up and walking into the kitchen. He poured himself some red wine and sat at the dinner table. Baxley sipped at his glass in thought. He wondered what his half-brother was doing and if his master was having a good time without him. The fox smirked at his second thought and shook his head. KNOCK! KNOCK!
Baxley set down his glass, patting his dagger in its sheath on his belt and went to answer the door. He looked through the keyhole, seeing nothing and opened it causiously. A kitten with orange and black fur that stood waist height to Baxley was looking up at the fox with big eyes. Something intrigued Baxley about the cat's eyes; they had black irises and red pupils.
"Heh, well hello there little guy", barked Baxley. "What can I do you for and what are you on this creepy night?"
"You're the demon that helps people, right", mewed the kitten. Baxley looked at the kitten for a bit before smiling. "My parents are in need of help, sir, they were abducted by werewolves!"
"Such a wild imagination you have", replied the fox. "What's your name, kitten."
"Elijah, what's yours?"
"Baxley."
"Now can we go help my parents, please", cried the kitten.
Baxley sighed and spoke up. "Here come inside and sit down while we talk about how I can help."
The kitten's ears perked up and he looked at the fox before walking in. Baxley grinned and shut the door, taking his paw off of his dagger. He walked into the living room and found the little kit sprawled across the couch watching his TV. The fox chuckled softly and knelt beside the cat. "Okay, tell me about what happened."
Elijah shifted on the couch and looked up at Baxley. He sighed and began his story.
"I was in my room playing and getting ready to go out with my parents, when I heard a knock on the front door and my dad went to answer it. There was a loud bang and I heard my mother scream so I opened my door and ran down the hall to see my dad wrestling with a brown furred werewolf with blue eyes. My mother was fighting with one slightly shorter than the one my dad was with. I watched them fight since I couldn't muster up the courage to get involved and watched as my dad got banged up against the living room walls and furniture before being restrained and knocked out. My mother fared better than my dad since she was a lot lighter on her paws than he was, but ended up getting overwhelmed and dragged out of the house along with my dad."
Elijah started to cry as he ended his story and Baxley held him as he whispered softly in his ear.
"Don't worry hon, I'll find them", he said. "But I need to know some things about these werewolves like was there any kind of sign they wore or have you any idea if you recognized any of them?"
"We can go back to my house and see", whimpered Elijah, wiping a tear from his eye.
"That a boy, let's go then", barked Baxley, walking over to his closet and grabbing his black jacket and fully equipped harness.
Baxley led the kitten to his 2012 purple mustang with red flames on it. He started the engine when they were both in and buckled up. Baxley backed out of the drive-way and drove down the dirt road heading for the city.
"Now, where do you live", asked the fox, without taking his now red eyes off the road. He was a little irritated that someone would take a kid's parents.
"In the old neighborhood by Casey's", mewed Elijah. "I let you know when you're there."
Baxley continued his drive until the kitten told him to stop. He pulled to the side of the street and got out. The kitten ran straight for the door, but Baxley quickly stopped him. "Wait, we don't know if someone is in there", he whispered.
Baxley drew his dagger and walked cautiously up to the door and slowly opened it. Elijah followed closely behind him. Baxley walked inside and down the hall to the living room. The place was ransacked and looked like a tornado went through this place. "You're parents really fought back with the ferocity of a vampire that I've only felt the love of", Baxley said to himself.
"Yep, my ma and pa can really put up a fight so don't mess with them", giggled the kitten. "They are probably fighting their way back home right now."
Baxley chuckled. "You're probably right, little guy."
A low growl sounded above them making Baxley look up. He barely had time to dodge kick aimed at his chest, sending him against a wall. The mysterious creature pinned the fox against the wall, baring fangs and glaring at him with hate in his gold eyes. Baxley scented his opponent and raised his arms. "I am a friend."
"Don't give me that shit demon; I know what you really do, Dyamingael", growled the creature. "You only bring death and destruction to everywhere you go."
"Dyamingael" was the word messengers of Satan were called. Baxley chuckled and smirked. "I haven't been called that in long while, Casetwan."
The creature smiled and leaned in close to Baxley, grinding his groin against the fox's as he put more weight onto the fox. "Demon hunters know everything about their target."
"If that is true then you would know of my few skills I possess", growled Baxley, licking the creature's neck. Fur, okay he's an animal, thought Baxley. He closed his eyes and opened them, sending the creature flying to the other side of the room.
"Damn it."
Baxley found a light switch and turned it on, revealing a Jaguar in black military gear with a sword. The fox crossed his arms and walked up to the still pinned jaguar, smiling. "Why are you hunting me Datek", he growled.
"It's my job", snarled the jaguar, struggling.
"Yes I know that, but who hired you?"
"Some werewolves, why, what's it to you?"
Baxley grinned. "I'm helping this kitten find his parents and the werewolves have them. Do you know where they are hiding?"
"Yeah, but why should I tell you", growled Datek. "It's not like you'd do anything for me."
"Listen, Datek, I will do anything to get this kitten back to his parents."
"Will you go out with me and partner with me on any job of my choosing", grinned the jaguar.
Baxley sighed, shaking his head. "Yes, I will but it will have to wait until after we reunite Elijah with his parents."
Datek grinned and nodded his head. "Deal, the base is underground out in the country. Drive to a barn with a mailbox labeled Fishtrie and pull into the driveway. Once you're there, get out and walk into the barn; there should be a lever on a nearby post that should open the hideout."
Baxley nodded and let the jaguar down, walking out of the living room and out the door. Elijah followed and got in the car, buckling up so Baxley could start the car. The fox followed the jaguar's directions and soon they were approaching the barn. Elijah purred as he saw the barn in the distance and his ear twitched in happiness. The car came to a stop in the driveway and Baxley got out cautiously with his dagger in paw.
The barn looked empty and a little creepy, but they walked in. Baxley looked for the lever and found it. He went over to pull when Elijah stopped him. "What if they are waiting for us", he meowed. "They could trap us and kill us."
"I won't let anything happen to you or your parents", barked Baxley, pulling the lever.
The floor slide down into a ramp and the two furs walked down it. Baxley smelled the air, scenting a musky scent which he followed through the underground tunnels. He didn't like this place and made sure that the kitten was close to him at all times. Baxley finally saw dim light at the end of a tunnel and headed for it. He emerged inside a large chamber filled with cheering werewolves, jaguars, and foxes. There was a stage with two concrete posts in the middle and bound to theses posts were Elijah's parents. A leopard stood off to the side ranting about how these two have committed horrible crimes against their order and how they should be put to death. Elijah yelled in excitement, "Ma, Pa, it's me, your son."
All the commotion stopped and all eyes went to Baxley and the kitten. "There, the child of these murderers has been brought to us; thanks to that mysterious fox", called the leopard. "Award him with gifts and women and let them to the stage."
There was an isle made and Baxley grabbed the kitten's arm, guiding him to the stage, feeling the eyes of the men and women boar into his fur. He felt really uncomfortable when he met eyes with the two vampire parents as he went up the stage steps. Elijah was confused and ran straight to his parents when he got the chance.
"I've missed you", he cried as he hugged them. "I did what you said and found the half demon fox."
"Yes and now he is here to watch us die", hissed the father. "You don't care about honor or right; you only care about getting paid and the thrill you get!"
Baxley was taken aback a bit, but a plan spurred in his clever mind. "You're right, I only care about getting paid and the thrill."
"Don't may no attention to them, fox, they'll be dead before long", meowed the leopard. "And now the time has come for these killers to die; the sun will be approaching any moment in 5.....4.......3......2.......Open the gates."
Baxley thought quickly and used his mind to unlock the chains on the posts while the leopard counted down. He drew his dagger and leaped at the leopard, winking at the vampire family and causing an uproar of curses and threats. They stood up and attempted to get off the stage but the crowd stopped them. Baxley cleared a path, flinging bodies across the chamber and flagging the family down. He led them out of the chamber and through the tunnels back to the entrance.
Once outside, he flipped the lever up, closing the ramp and ran to the car. Baxley got in, along with the family and drove off down the road, accepting his thanks from the vampires. He dropped them off at thier home and gave them his number telling them to call when they wanted to meet and talk. He went home and took a nap feeling exhausted.
