Ever feel like you were all alone? Like nobody had your back? Like you had to deal with everything yourself, and learn the hard way? Well, I was there, and that inspired this.
I used to trust all the same,
But then I was played just like a game,
It's been so long since I fell from grace,
I fell from the light, now I'm here at its base,
But every time I close my eyes, I still see your face,
Life goes so fast, I can't keep up with this pace,
But still I stumble on, I will not admit defeat,
Even with all the blows that rain down, even as my body is beat,
I will not give up, I will not stop,
I will keep climbing until reach the top,
Each and every day that passes me by,
I used to walk with my head held high,
But I was used and abused, I have no joy,
Now I walk with sadness, gripped by misery's ploy,
I hold all this blame and despair,
My heart is damaged beyond repair,
I have to live with this unbearable pain,
Why was I hurt, what could they gain,
I'm not a monster, I believe,
It helps me navigate the wooden smiles, the raging seas,
But there is only one way to see the real me,
Someone please come and see,
Beneath my mask and my lies,
Throw away my disguise,
Rip my tattered remains apart,
Share with me your heart,
Throw away the broken shards,
We will share a heart, I promise this one to guard,
I will never again let another in, I will not undo the locks,
