"Jake." I woke up, my face sore and realised I had fallen asleep against the computer. "Cuss, how long have I been asleep?" I lifted my head off the desk and wiped my eyes. "I don't know but if you keep going like this you may not wake up." "I'm fine Annabelle." I protested. "No your not, you've been working for sixteen hours straight with hardly any rest. You need to sleep." "As soon as I find this cusser I will." She pulled me off my chair. "Jake Leion, I order you to get something to eat and sleep for at least eight hours." "Hu, yes ma'am."

I left the room and out into the hallway. After the booming the U.A.S. Coulter collected us from the planet. Luke was still in the medical bay. With a bit of wandering around, and asking directions, I found the gally. "Sorry buddy dinner won't be ready for another hour." The cook informed, she was a dark skinned Ridolean tree born by the looks of it. "However if you're hungry I can make you some toast or get you an apple." "Yeah that would be good thank you. I don't care what you get me as long as it's warm." "Will do. Actually you don't look to good do you need to go to med bay." "No it's just I've been feeling a bit depressed lately. My mates down there and cuss I haven't eaten in sixteen hours." "Sixteen," she said in surprise, "You should have told me, I'll get you an M.R.E. and heat it up."

I sat down at one of the tables and she brought me the M.R.E. pack with the main meal already heated up. I ripped the spoon out of its plastic wrapper and opened the meal, it was beef ravioli. I took my first spoonful then realised how hungry I was. "Thank you, this is delicious." She sat down across the table from me. "Well it's what I do. So tell me what's worrying you." I had another piece of ravioli before answering. "You heard about what happened to the 404th right," she nodded, "well I am from the 404th and my mate, Luke, saved me from the explosion." "and I'm going to guess you've gone into a state of depression."

I nodded. "I've been in the same situation as you, my mate, who I had known since we were kids, always wanted to be a pilot. I supported her through every step of the process, she got employed with a small company and on her first day I kissed her as she went out the door and wished her luck. She never came back, a Myarch drove his car through a red light and hit her. I went into a depression, the same as you pushing all my friends and family away. But my current mate, he was came to check on me one day and thought I was in trouble, so he broke down the door. At first I pushed him away but he was always there for me, he supported me through it. We argued at one point but he made it up to me and then I started feeling better and now I'm with him."

I listened to her story, she even stated crying at one point but it was like me, I pushed everyone away when I should be letting them help me. "Yeah I see, but I've sworn my soul to Etruscan so I sort of need to find the person responsible." "How do you intend to find this person anyway?" "I'll keep looking till I do." She leant forward. "But what if you don't? Instead of spending time with your mate you're going to be spending it looking for this person. If you go on like you are you can lose everything and may be seeing Etruscan sooner than you think." She left me to eat, her words had made their mark.

After eating I headed to the medical bay. Luke was alone, lying on a bed, still and peaceful. I went uop to him and knelt by his side. "hey mate, I know you can't hear me but I want you to know I'll be here for you always." "well I'll hold you to that." I looked up at him and saw his smiling face. I jumped forward and started kissing him, felling his muscular body. "Easy now, you don't want to put me back in hospital. Anyway I missed you." "I missed you too Luke." "if I wasn't here now, you wouldn't be." He was right I owed him a life debt.

I turned to the sound of footsteps behind me. "Good to see you awake." "Good to be awake, ma'am" "Nice reply. So Jake you're going to put your vendetta on hold because we have been assigned as guards to the U.A. peace summit. Also so you know the 538th will be taking over the operation on Thera." "The 538th, they're sending in the 538th, I didn't know it was that big an op." "Well the information retrieved by Jake uncovered a heap load of information, too big for a fire team." Tyler explained. "What about the C.F.A.?" I asked. "They're still a relic probably trying to make a profit off the war to raise an army." Annabelle replied.

When me and Luke had finished snuggling I went back to the computer and continued cheeking through files. It was incredibly annoying since I wasn't used to the system and it was purely by accident that I found a protected file. I clicked on a file to open it then started going through but for some reason it tried deleting it. 'This file contains a file protected by a password. Please enter password to continue with operation.' I then went to find Nita.

She was surprised when she saw it, mainly by the idiocies of the user. "Honestly what is the point of having a file that is protected on an unprotected computer? It might as well have big flashing lights saying this is important." She started hacking in too the folder. Which I didn't understand any off. "So can you get it open?" she gave me an evil look. "This is more of an inconvenience then a problem and I don't like how you doubt my skills." She went back to typing. "I'll send it to you when it's open which should be sometime tomorrow. We arrive at Luncanto in an hour then you need to get some rest for tomorrow."

As she said the ship arrived at the planet on time, however the drop ship was still being repaired so we had to wait another half an hour. The journey to the planet was bumpy and the cabin was poorly lit. The drop ship eventually stopped moving and gently lowered to the ground. We steeped out into a bright summers day with a beautiful blue sky and a healthy green forest over the airfield fence, it felt good to be on a beautiful planet.

A car was waiting for s and we were ushered in. I climbed in the back with Luke beside me. His fur was soft and warm. Soon my eyes felt heavy and I drifted off to sleep.
