Romance in Danger (Pending Title)

Looking for input, I'm not sure if I should continue this story. Yay or Nay?

Cold and damp, that's how I feel. I wake to the sound of soft whimpers. Looking around, I can barely see for the lack of light, I make out the silhouette of someone else in this dark room. I'm definitely not alone.

"He-Hello?" I whisper into the dark. I hear the scuffling as the other person must have been startled by the sudden sound.

"Who's there?"

"My name is Blaze, Blaze Chroma."

"Blaze? It's you?"

"Who're - wait, that voice... Vio? Is that you?"

"Yeah, where are you?"

"I can see you, I'll go to you."

I crawl over to where Vio is sitting with his knees held to his chest and I wrap my arms around him and feel him tense.

"It's me, relax." I feel the tension leave him.

"Where are we? How do we get out?"

"If I knew the answers to those I would have gotten us out of here already."

"So, basically we're stuck here." I can hear the despair in his voice.

"No, I just haven't figured out how to escape yet."

"Can we do that in a minute, I don't want to be left alone."

"You're such a little kitten for being such a big panther."

"Shut up."

I know he is afraid of the dark even though being feline gives him excellent night vision. I sit there with him and just hold him close while singing a song a learned from my mother. About half-way through the song I hear a soft click come from the direction of the door.

"Well, I think our way out just came to us." I whisper in his ear. "Quickly, let's go to the wall by the door, I don't trust our hosts are very friendly."

I feel him nod and as if it were choreographed we swiftly and silently moved to the dark corners of the room on the same side as the door.

Light spills into the room and two neko-cat girls step into the room carrying two things; a basket, supposedly containing food a drink; and a weapon, probably of their own choosing as they were both different. Since they were clearly threats to us we moved in quickly. Using the poor lighting to our advantage I took down one with a sweep and knee technique, slamming my knee into her solar-plexus. It was when she very nearly broke in two that I found they were robots, and cheaply built ones at that. Vio used the door and slammed it into the other robot, knocking more than just a few screws loose. With both robots currently in need of a complete overhaul, we "borrowed" the weapon we deemed would suit us best.

"This sword will do me nicely." Vio snickers.

Of course it would, his parents run a swordplay school. He knows as many styles of swordplay as I do styles of clothes, and my mother is the head of fashion company so I know all there is to know.

"That leaves me with... gloves?" I put them on and feel them form fit to my hand. "Huh, well, I can't say I expected that." I flick my wrist and see a shimmer come from the tips of each finger. The wall in front of me suddenly becoming scratched by something unseen. "Ah-hah, it uses wires. Quite the unorthodox weapon for this unorthodox red husky, huh?"

"Sorry, what was that? I'm more concerned as to why this sword is glowing purple. It was a dull grey before, like it needed a good sharpening; now it looks good as new, except that it's purple."

"Huh, cool." I reach over and run my hand along the broad side of the sword and find that 'cool' is meant in more ways than one. "Wow, I didn't just mean cool as in neat, but apparently also temperature wise. That feels cold enough to freeze most things"

"Interesting, now where did that scabbard go... Ah, there it is." As Vio walks to retrieve the scabbard, I go and inspect the baskets that the robots dropped during our attack.

"Hmm, not much in here, only a cellphone for each of us. This one is red and the other is purple." I flip the phones open with the thought 'Jeez these are outdated' and see that there's a message for each of us.

"Well, if that isn't the most confusing text I've ever received. Hey, Vio, catch!" I toss him the red phone.

"What's this?" He flips open the phone and reads the message. "Did you see who the message is from?"

"Yeah, it's a string of numbers, why?"

"It's the square root of pi. You know, 3.14?"

"Glad to see your calculus course isn't going to waste. That means nothing to me. I know what it is, but what's the significance in regard to our situation?"

"There isn't anything really significant about it, but why not just use pi; it's more recognizable."

"Hmm, you have a point..." I think on this for a few minutes while Vio gets a feel for the weight of the sword and tests it functionality for different styles. "Well, we wont figure anything out if we just hang out here. Let's go check this place out."
