Excerpt for upcoming story! =D
Starting new series! =D
Hey guys,
Blackfanged Leopard and I are working on a collab story. I've come up with an excerpt on my part and wanted to post it on here. I've the first chapter written, just waiting on some more of that inspiration juice to get the next one! :D Thoughts and comments are welcome and message to Woozel: Y u no!?!?
The World of Azuriel is filled with various species of furs-from foxes to eagles, filled to the brim with personality and tribal customs, it is only in the beginning stages of Civilization. Just having formed nations and alliances, there are constant conflicts over land, power and dominance of the lesser creatures, mostly non-predatory ones by nature: Otters, chipmunks, squirrels, etc. Although some tend to make a good living using their species' abilities, like the Rats being spies and couriers using the sewers in the cities and the sorts, most tend to be gentle farmers or simple guards trying to pass by and make a coin.
The Self-Proclaimed King of Azuriel is Nathaniel the Second, a Lion. He is of the lazy sort that hasn't done anything worth mention since his ascension four years ago. The pesants, as well as Zeko's parents, take it as a blessing and scurry to send their offspring to better places. One of these places is Utrand, an Island off the eastern coast of Azuriel that houses the famous School of Magic with its Headmaster, Magus Runith. Long back before his time, the few Gifted with Magic were born of luck or divine will- we're not sure. As their powers grew, so did their greed and the inevitable conflict tore the world asunder, taking heaps of innocents. When they, at last, were destroyed in their Final Battle, referred to as the "Magi Mató," their essences were spread across the lands. This, in turn, allowed every species to have a chance at one of the youngs being gifted with magic, and brought stability to the lands.
Zeko, an otter of bare fourteen seasons old, is sent to the Citadel to be Tested, like every cub his age, for his innate abilities. In hopes that he would be the one to bring his village to fame and glory, he goes off with confidence into the busy town...
