_ Chapter 6: Dual Alphas _

Ryker was the first to take the lead, dashing to the side and up along one of the Steelacite trees. He scaled the height quickly, with Kaiden watching down below him the whole time. Once he reached the top he jumped away, aiming himself with his leg out to deliver a falling axe kick. Let's see how he handles a Falling Silver kick. Ryker thought.

Seeing the move, Kaiden jumped to the side. Ryker landed where he once was and the impact of his kick caused the ground to cave again, chucks of earth flying up and around as cracks formed through and around the crater.

Seeing his chance, Kaiden got up close and throw a punch for Ryker's crouched body. The folf rolled out of the way and turned around, still crouched and launched himself at his opponent, using the wolf's body as a stand to somersault up and out of the crater.

He landed and hopped a few steps back, putting distance between himself and Kaiden as the large wolf climbed out of the crater.

"Pretty good hybrid. This is gonna be a good fight." Kaiden chuckled as he and Ryker circled one another, studying the other's movements and body language.

"Same for me, pure breed." Ryker spoke with a grin, his blood pumping after finally finding someone strong enough to be a challenge for him. He mimicked Kaiden and circled around, the two standing off, waiting for the other to make a move.

This time, it was Kaiden who moved first. He crouched down and jumped up, his strong leg muscles sending him high into the air. Ryker watched and followed suit, jumping up to meet the wolf in mid-air. Kaiden moved to throw a sideways leg sweep at where Ryker would meet him.

Smirking at the move, the folf rotated his body, throwing a leg sweep of his own. Once more, the two powerhouses clashed, their right calves crossing and releasing another shockwave through the air. Kaiden was horizontal while Ryker was vertical and upside-down. The two chuckled lightly to themselves, enjoying the evenness of their clashes immensely.

Taking advantage of his smaller size and flexibility, Ryker brought his other leg up and wrapping it around the wolf's leg at the knee. Using his leg for leverage, the folf pulled himself up and above his opponent. He delivered a second Falling Silver kick to Kaiden's gut before the large wolf could grab him with his paws.

The kick sent the wolf crashing down into the crater Ryker made earlier. The impact deepened the crater more than double its size. The ground collapsing and cracking from the force the blow. The sudden falling of their Alpha had the onlookers in shock and awe.

"Can you believe that? He sent Kaiden crashing down!" Natalia exclaimed, her muzzle open in shock. Behind her there were other mummers of similar natures.

Ace looked to his side to Fang. The larger wolf's muzzle was curved into a grimace and he was snarling slightly, trying to control himself and not make another outburst. Ace was just as surprised as the others. He couldn't believe how strong Ryker had become since they were pups, nor how strong Kaiden really was.

They're both so strong. And they aren't even using magic? It's simply amazing. Ace thought. His eyes focused on the crater as he saw the crumbled chunks of earth shift. They shifted and toppled over one another as Kaiden pushed them out of his way to stand up.

He dusted his dirt off his fur and popped his shoulders. He smirked and chuckled lightly to himself as he crouched down and jumped out of the large crater again. He looked around and didn't see Ryker anywhere.

"Up here Kaiden." Ryker shouted from above. The voice surprised Kaiden and he looked up. He saw the folf, but was a bit surprised where he was exactly. Ryker was somehow standing delicately on the tip of a tall, but tin tree. He was smirking down at Kaiden as he spoke.

"Looks like the first real blow goes to me." Ryker said, chuckling slightly. He had his arms crossed in front of him and was looking down at Kaiden with his tails waving behind him, pleased with himself for getting the first hit in.

"Yeah, guess so. Been a while since someone's gotten the better of me like that." Kaiden replied. He watched as Ryker lightly hopped off the tree and dropped down in front of him some distance away. They looked at each other, both smirking as they took their stances again, ready to continue on.

They stared each other down, neither moving as they waited. And at the same time, they both took off, heading side-by-side with the other to folf's left and the wolf's right. They kept eyes on the other the whole run; only leaving to make sure they didn't run into a tree or trip over a root.

Their run drew them to a river, the large body of running water in their sights as they continued on. Even as they reached the edge of the river, neither canine stopped running. Ryker dashed along the surfaced, his superior speed allowing him to easily run on the water. Kaiden also continued after him. While not as fast as the smaller folf, Kaiden was still able to continue with him. As the Alpha, the wolf had the territorial advantage, the land giving him aid in such a situation and supporting his weight.

Ryker smirked at the wolf as he sensed the magic aiding the wolf. Ah, the perks of every Alpha. Territorial Advantage. The magic of the land supporting the leader while within its boundaries. He thought to himself, knowing it was fair since he's had similar benefits as the Alpha of other packs.

Ryker was the one who decided to break the run along, veering off to the left, away from Kaiden. Seeing this, Kaiden stopped, standing still of the water's surface as the folf dashed off to the side. Ryker curved his path over the surface, turning to head straight at the wolf, smirking all the while. Kaiden readied himself as he watched the folf coming at him.

Ryker side-stepped as he neared Kaiden, running straight past him and twisting his body to jump into the air above the wolf. He once more used the wolf's back as a stepping stone to jump higher into the air. Kaiden stumbled at the sudden shift in weight and looked up to see Ryker aiming a punch down at him, shooting like an arrow straight down. Mimicking Ryker, Kaiden side-stepped out of the way. The folf crashed into the water, diving down into it as he missed the mark. He turned underwater and looked up at the wolf from below. Holding his breath, he swam quickly up under him.

With the sun overhead, the water reflected the bright rays and obscured Ryker's form from Kaiden's eyes. As such, the sudden grip from the folf on the wolf's ankles surprised him and before he could stop it, Ryker pulled the wolf down under with him. Smirking to himself, the hybrid turned and headed for the river's edge. The wolf followed as he looked at the folf, a smile on his muzzle from falling for such a prank.

Once both fighters were on dry ground, they gave in to their instincts and shook off the water. Their fur drier now, they look to each other chuckling. They made sure to remove as much water from their fur as they could, and once done, they both charged again and resumed fighting.

They let loose a barrage of punches and kicks at each other, so fast close together it was almost impossible to follow them all. Both combatants matched each other blow for blow, never one side gaining any sort of advantage in the fight. Ryker soon let loose a powerful punch that Kaiden quickly seized, pulling the folf further forward past him and throwing him in the air. He added a kick in the back to launch him towards a branch higher up.

Ryker rebounded off the branch, launching himself back at Kaiden, who blocked his counterstrike. "Well it seems I got the second true blow to the fight." He smiled to Ryker as he licked his lips.

Ryker smiled before throwing Kaiden back into the river. Kaiden resurfaced with an amused grin on his face. "Come on! Hurry and dry off." Ryker yelled with a huge grin on his face.

Kaiden shook his head and quickly swam back, dried off, and resumed the fight by launching himself at the folf again.

Elsewhere, but where the pack was watching from, Ace, Kaito, and Orono were having trouble holding Fang back. He was snarling louder than before because the prank Ryker pulled on Kaiden. "That little punk! I'll kill him myself for that little stunt." he snarled, clawing at the air past the three bodies holding him.

"Fang, calm down already! You know you can't interfere with an Alpha Challenge fight. Kaiden will lose if you step a single paw on the field." Natalia reasoned with him. Her tone quieted Fang down slightly, but he was still angry.

"I'm gonna strangle that punk the second he steps back in the village." Fang said sitting down, trying to prevent himself from causing Kaiden to lose. Ace sighed, tired of the beta's outbursts. He decided to sit down as well, and just focus on the fight between his current Alpha and puphood friend.

The sun had shifted since the fight had started. Amazingly, three hours had passed since the two fighters had begun a fight for a title and control over the Windstorm Pack. The two fighters were panting, covered in bruises and cuts.

"This is simply amazing. I've never seen Kaiden fight with someone this long before." Fang said. Even he was amazed at how long the fight has lasted, how powerful and evenly-matched the two participants were.

"Yeah, I can't believe this is really happening." Orono said in awe.

"They're slowing down though. I think it will end soon." Natalia said. Everyone's eyes were locked on the two fighters as they seemed to be preparing for the end.

Kaiden and Ryker were indeed slowing down, the prolonged fight was taking its toll on them and the field as well. Craters, cracks, and rubble covered the field. The strong Steelacite trees were chipped, bent, and some were even broken; the force of the two powerful combatants too much for even them.

The two were currently by the river, having gone over the entire field as they fought. Kaiden was the first to act. He grabbed one of the broken trees, a large, think one, and threw the mass at the folf. Ryker, seeing this, took a deep breath and focused himself. As the tree neared him, he spun and threw a horizontal kick.

This move splits the tree in two and sent the pieces into the river. Thinking quickly, Ryker jumped backwards, flipping through the air and landing gracefully on one of the logs. Kaiden followed suit, running over and jumping off to land on the other log. The two stared at each other, both feeling the effects of the drawn out fight.

"Well, seems we're about done doesn't it, Kaiden?" Ryker asked.

"Yeah, would seem so. And here, I heard those with similar destructive power don't fight for very long. Guess we were having too much fun." Kaiden chuckles out. Both were panting softly, their bodies limping slightly as they looked at each other.

Ryker chuckled in return, having heard similar and guessing their fun in the first hour was a bit of mistake. No wonder in the second hour the two got more serious and stopped talking as much. Now into the third, they were both tiring out and ready to end this, hopefully in their favor.

"Well, one last move then? Put everything we got left into it?" Ryker suggested, his right paw clinching at the thought. Instinctively, Kaiden's did the same thing.

"Yeah, one last move to settle this." Kaiden said. He got into a stance best for jumping forward.

"Perfect. Now let me show you something. I'm sure you've never seen this before." Ryker said. He took a neutral fighting stance, footpaw slightly spread, arms crossed in front of his chest with his forepaws clenched tightly. Grunting, he brought both of his arms down, and stomped his right paw down to widen his stance as he shouted.

"Crown Silver!" Before the wolf's eyes, the muscles on Ryker's arms thickened, bulging out as he clinched his teeth in effort. His veins could clearly be seen. Kaiden could only whistle at the display.

"Impressive hybrid." he complimented.

"Thanks. Crown Silver is my trump card for pure brute force. I literally pump my arms up to boost their strength. It slows me down because of the effort and I can't maintain it for too long. But, hey. It's a called a trump card for a reason." Ryker commented as he mimicked Kaiden's jumping stance.

"Ready folf? Kaiden grinned to Ryker.

"Ready wolf. Let's finish this." Ryker said, grinning as well.

The two nodded their heads at each other, understanding this would be the last clash, the move to decide the fate of themselves and the Windstorm Pack.

At the same time, they jumped forward, drawing their right arms back. They roared at each other as they drew near, putting everything they had into this one last punch. As they came together, their let their fists fly. The spectacle was in clear view for the pack members, all of them gasped as they watched what happened.

Ryker and Kaiden's punches hit square on, both hammering into the other's muzzle and knocking their heads to the side. The clash had enough power in it to send the two across the river's diameter and onto each side of the river.

The blows were enough to finish the fight; neither combatant could manage to get back up. They lay sprawled out of one side of the river, the body of running water separating them. Their entire bodies were aching and they groaned out loud at the sting in their muzzles. Despite everything though, Ryker started to chuckle. The excitement he felt for finding someone equal to himself overwhelmed even the exhaustion and he started to laugh out loud. It wasn't long before Kaiden joined in, feeling the same excitement running through the folf.

The entire pack came up to the site of their Alpha, but none of them approached because of the laughter. They were unsure of what to do since both of the fighters were laughing after such a fierce battle.

"What's going on? How can they be laughing like that?" Kaito asked, confused like much of the pack.

"Hahahaha... It's simple, Kaito. It's the thrill. After such a fight, how can we not be excited! We have a rival now. The two of us have someone out there that we now can put up a fight against us." Kaiden explained, he looked over to the other side of the river, and locked eyes with Ryker. The folf had a smirk on his muzzle, confirming what the Alpha wolf just said.

"Now then," Kaiden started, turning his muzzle back up to face the sky, his body starting to glow, "I think it's time I got out of this sorry state." he chuckled out. The wolf's body started to glow.

Everyone watched as the wolf's body was slowly lifted off the group and was surrounded by a pale green wind. While Kaiden's body was obscured, his cells were dividing at an accelerated rate, rapidly healing his body as he drew strength from the spirits of the Windstorm territory. The wind faded and Kaiden was left standing up on his footpaws, looking like he'd never even fought.

"Hey, can someone head over and grab the folf? He needs healing too." Kaiden asked.

"Um... I don't think he'll be needing that." Ace said, his gaze on Ryker. Everyone else also looked, including Kaiden.

The folf was levitating just as Kaiden was moments earlier, but he was vertical, with his back to the pack. His body glowed green and his mane was flowing, like it was blowing in the wind. With his mane up, everyone could see his rose birthmark. The red fur was also glowing, but a deep red instead.

Everyone watched as light green currents of energy flowed out of the ground, the trees, even the sky itself. The folf was drawing in energy from every part of nature around him. The energy flows were all being drawn into his rose pattern. Within the same time it took Kaiden to recover, Ryker was already back on solid ground, popping his neck and rolling his shoulders as if nothing had happen at all.

He then turned, and with a smirk to the entire pack that had watched him, dashed for the water again. It took only seconds for him to run over the surface again and walk up to Kaiden. "Well, I certainly enjoyed myself out there." he said chuckling, offering his paw to the larger wolf.

"Yeah, that was the best fight I've been in in a long time." Kaiden said, shaking the offered paw. "That was a neat trick you just pulled there." he commented.

"Hehe. Yeah. That was my Body Revival spell. I use magic to draw in the natural energy around me. This energy activates the body's abilities in multiple ways, healing me to peak form and returning my strength to normal levels again. It's a self-activating spell I have in place to start after any and all fights I am in. I can even be revived from the dead since it will begin once the fetal blow is delivered." Ryker explained, chuckling at the last sentence.

"Ah, I see. It's a very powerful and amazing spell indeed. Well, I never thought I'd tie with you like this Ryker. Seems we'll be having to go with those conditions instead of our own." Kaiden said, a smile on his muzzle.

"Yes, I guess we will. I look forward to working with you Kaiden. I believe we're gonna have so much fun." Ryker begins, before let go of the wolf's paw and stepped closer, pressing up against the wolf as he reached around and groped Kaiden's ass. "And I'm sure we'll both be enjoying it when I take that tail of yours." he chuckled.

Kaiden growled at the open grope and licked his lips as he reached around and groped Ryker's in return. "You're the first to attempt such an open display like that. I can tell you'll make a great addition folf."

"Thanks wolf." Ryker grinned back to Kaiden, before letting go and stepping back a bit. He then brought up his right paw, clenched in a fight, and held it if front of Kaiden. "Now then, I think it's time for the ceremony, don't you?"

Kaiden chuckled at this and brought his on right paw up and fist pumped the folf, connecting them together. "Yeah, welcome to the pack Ryker." the large wolf said.

As Kaiden finished speaking, the two started glowing with the same green aura that enveloped Ace when he was introduced. The wind surrounded the two and entered Ryker's body, granting him the same power surge Ace felt. The folf could now sense everything within the protective boundaries of The Windstorm's territory.

Just like with Ace though, the aura and wind soon dispersed and the two were left standing there. Ryker brought his paw back and opened it, staring at the palm of it as he felt the new power within him. He couldn't help but chuckle at what he felt, even more power channeled into him then with Ace because he was now the pack's second Alpha.

"With the name Windstorm, I should have guessed the aura would be green. I've seen plenty of other colors go into me from other packs. And now, this makes the thirteenth one. 13 packs are under my control now as their Alpha." Ryker said, grinning towards Kaiden as he spoke.

"Well, under partial control anyways. We are Co-Alphas, so it's not under your full control." Kaiden said with a smirk.

Ryker rolled his eyes and smirked to the wolf. "Yeah yeah. Whatever helps you sleep at night."

Both grinned as they walked together back to the village with everyone else right behind them.
