Trust and Fools
This is based around a video I saw on youtube awhile back of a gator swallowing a gazelle whole.
Rasha the young gazelle is just to trusting and a hungry gator will take advantage of it.
It was a hot day in the savannah and the animals were thirsty. They had to take water but of course be very wary for the water held a creature that wished to devour any that try to drink. Always there is a chance that the first drink of water you take will be your last.
Today the gazelle tribe of the North, also called Gazini Clan had to come to drink and also knew of the scaled monsters that lived in the water. They came cautiously and carefully looked around before drinking the water, quenching their parched throats.
Rasha was part of this clan and he was quick along with a bit naive and trusting. He was friends with a lion cub for horn's sake! He came to the water and looks into it, sighing. He walks off, to get some distance between him and his clan so he could drink without all the chatter and paranoia. He lip the water touch his mouth and nose, its coolness made him relax.
"Why not stay with your friends?" Came a voice that startled the young gazelle. "I didn't mean to startle you, young buck." The voice was soft, almost kind hearted sounding. It made Rasha look around for the source of the voice.. well until he saw a long maw come out of the water. He now knew who this voice belonged to but instead of running in a panic he just stared. He cautiously looked at his friends that seemed to busy worrying about themselves than looking after him. "They are a bit loud for me. I d-don't mean to offend but shouldn't you be coming after me to try and tear me apart while eating me?"
The monster gave a look of offense. "Now why would I do that to such a lovely creature like yourself? I am fond of Gazelle, your tan body, black mark with some white under belly, complete with such beautiful horns?" The monster pokes his head up more. "I am known to this river as Arawn. What may your name be, young one?"
"Oh, I'm sorry, I should've introduced myself.. and you really know how to flatter as well. I am known to my clan as Rasha. Its nice to meet you. Sorry but I was raised on fearing you, but you seem really nice and all."
"Oh, I see. My kind is feared by most prey and some predators. But we need to eat to, do we not? You get to eat grass and enjoy berries on the bushes. We need to eat prey, just a normal thing. We never know when our next meal will be so when we find our meal we must take it." Arawn said which made sense to the young gazelle. "How old are you, if you don't mind me asking?"
"Oh, I believe I am two years old. I left my mother two seasons ago."
"I am five I believe, my kind don't keep track unless we wish to. You seem hot, you can come into the water. If any of my clan come to you I will tell them you are my friend... It's alright." The gator swam a bit away, getting distance between them.
He looks back at his family that were starting to leave one by one. He was sure if it was just a quick swim it will be okay. His front hooves step in cautiously and with a hesitant moment he slipped into the cool water that washed over him. "Oh, this is so nice." He looks at his friend, getting a little further from the land. He swam okay, not the best but okay. He hadn't noticed the scaled creature circle him with a new look in his eyes. Than there was some pain and he couldn't breathe after he was dragged under water by a force that pulled at his back skin.
Arawn had grabbed hold of the foolish gazelle in his jaws, pulling the poor creature under the water. No matter how he struggled it didn't cause any damage. He finally let go when the poor creature barely had any fight left in him, allowing him to get some air, only to pull him under again after he took in a breath. He did it over and over until he opened his jaws wide, forcing his backside into his maw. He held the half-drowned Rasha in his jaw, making sure he couldn't leave.
By than his gazelle clan had fled back to safety. Rasha was now at his mercy, exhausted and soaked. He wouldn't drown this foolish meal. No, he wanted it alive for as long as he could. He went back to the land, letting the weak gazelle lay there, wheezing and trying to take in sweet breath. He pulled his head back, forcing the gazelle's backside to the back of his maw where he swallowed his backside into his throat. "Why d-do this to me? I th-thought we were friends" He coughed, sneezing out water. He tried to pull himself out but the jaws closed more, sharp teeth threatening to puncture his skin. He looks back, watching and feeling his back side inside the tight throat.
He was than lifted up, being forced to move with the gator as the large creature kept tilting his head back, swallowing more and more of the gazelle. It was easy thanks to tha fact he was small as well as wet. It got tighter and tighter with the swallows. It was getting cramped as more and more of him slid inside of the tough skin of the monster. He was still weakly trying to get out even though it was hopeless. His back and neck hurt from the gator forcing him to move back with each swallow. He was swallowed up with no trouble.
All that was left was his head sticking out of the gator, his front legs still tried to hang on but easily slipped off of the jaw. Another few forces of his neck and he slipped inside, resting inside the maw of the monster. He was swallowed down, front legs going with him and he was forced into the stomach that was tight and cramped within the now full monster. He tried to struggle again but he could barely move. The air was thinning and his vision was starting to go black. He cried silently. Well at least he fed him, right? Even though he wanted to get out and never trust another again. Finally his mind was quiet and he gave into the sleep that was a mercy and he'll never wake up from.
"I wonder if there are more foolish meals like you around. Just a kind voice and you trusted me to easily. Still a very tasty meal and you'll last me for a while." Arawn let himself lay in the water near the land, happy and with a belly full of foolish Rasha.
