chapter 3 of the story

The child, Silver, opened his eyes a crack to see only the sight of Black fur in his vision. At first, he was startled, unsure if he was alive or dead, considering he felt something holding him tight. But then the memories flooded back into his mind like a hurricane striking the lands. It came back to him, every last detail, as he recalled his father finally revealing himself to the boy. At first, he was upset, as he still is a bit. But it did not matter, they were back together at last, and that was all that mattered.

Sevren held him close, snoring softly as his eyes were fully closed, the muscles in his body tensing, then relaxing once more, as he was completely unconscious. Silver nuzzled his furry, silky chest ever so gently like the puppy he was. It made him smile how things could feel so righ in this very moment. But... Then that one thought that destroys everything appeared in his mind.

Do you deserve this happiness?

That one thought would always flare in his mind whenever something felt completely right. Silver had always thought that things were never going to be good for him. And he was used to feeling that way for seventeen years. The fact that life was miserable for him, was one that tickled ironies judgement. He was so tired of that one thought destroying everything.

Immediately, his body flared and glowed a dark mossy color, the tears running down his face as he flashed into an illusionary state of an awake dream. Or what he called meth fears. The vision flared him into nothingness, as he drifted here and there in a small void of space and time. Within seconds, he would drift to an area where there was a door with light piercing the cracks of the opening.

Yet over to the other side was a door to a cold dark and desolate world of nothing.

The boy looked at both doors, then, suddenly, he was driven in the middle, both doors equally far apart from him as he whimpered softly. A large head appeared before him, hissing softly.

"I... Am.. Voxeona... I am the keeper of fate... Your fate I keep hold of... Now... Why have you returned, child...?" It asked with a soft, yet firm tone. Silver gulped and looked to the darkened door, then back to the other.

"I do not know... I was in the arms of my Dad now.. And then I came back here... Why?" He asked, fearing he knew the answer.

"That is an easy statement to answer. But! Let me answer your question, with another question. Were you not thinking, once again, of how you felt like you did not deserve happiness?" This made Silver flinch in fear. He knew that Voxeona was right... But he did not want to face that question.

"Sometiems... I feel like I do not... I have... Suffered alot in life... And I feel like if I have happiness... then I am taking happiness from others by being happy myself." A tear shed from his eyes, as he stared at the guardian of time and space.

"I see... And what makes you think that you would make others unhappy by being happy?" He asked with a small smirk on his face. The guardians eyes were pale, his face completely white, shining through the pure gray voice of space that he was floating upon.

"Because... I was always told that if I was happy.... Then others would be miserable because I am nobody... And nobodies should not be happ--"

"SILENCE!" The god roared, making Silver curl up in a ball, crying out that he was sorry many, many times. The guardian was angry at what the boy had said, but soon calmed down, as he heaved a loud sigh.

"Silver Bale Benson... You are a good soul. You think about others, and you think about their happiness. But at the same time you lack the confidence and endurance to keep your own. You deserve to be happy. BUT!" He exclaimed, a flare of blue flame emitting all around the two, the doors vanishing behind them.

"You must choose now..." The shadowy door appeared on the left.

"Misery... Decay.. Pain... Sadistic living... All of that lies in this door. If you enter here... Things will never be easy... And you will never be happy... but in return, no one else will be happy either. And it will be your doing. How can such a world exist? Because you are the key to changing many things. You are the Balance Key."

Silvers eyes half closed, shaking head. He could not be such a thing. Such a thing was--

"You better not be putting yourself down in your mind." The guardian snickered, the lighting door appearing to the right.

"Through this door, lies a world of complete and utter happiness. Where no sorrow or pain is known. It is a world where everyone is loved, everyone is happy, everything is perfect. But in choosing such a choice, you give up the hardships of many things, therefore leaving life not of a purpose. In a way, you would not even be living a life.

"Also, in this world, you would not be allowed to exist. If you entered this world. You would not exist, because you cannot yet keep your happiness completely." This made the boy curl up again, stifling his tears and cries as he held on, hoping for a third option.

"Or..." A door appeared behind Silver, marked with the symbols that he saw on Sevrens chest. "you could go to this door, and go back to the world you were in, and try to struggle for life to be the way it should be. Make a difference, help others, but also help yourself. But if you do so, you cannot live in the misery a part of you wants in door number one... You cannot have a world of perfect happiness for others, you would have to make life better from a world that is bad.

"And, you would have many a struggles, but eventually happiness would arise. You just have to learn to be strong!" The guardian roared.

"Make your choice, little one!" With the command, Silver looked at each door, unsure what to choose. Misery, no happiness, a world where he could be as miserable inside as he wanted on the outside.... But in return no one can be happy... He did not want that, it was a selfish door.

Happiness and prosperity, no problems at all, nothing to lose in the second door. But in choosing such he would have to sacrifice his existance for everyone to be happy. Such as he usually did anyways. But to cease to exist would be something he did not want to do. As much as he hated his life, he did not want to cease to exist.

Or... Choose the world he lived in, where misery existed in his heart, but there were others, such as his father, who would help him get better. But at the same time he would have to work hard to earn the happiness he craved. Yet.... If he chose this door, the happiness would be possible, and he could still exist as much as he could.

The only choice he really wanted was door number three. And the only thing he had that was a bad option was the laziness he had. He somewhat did not want happiness, but choosing this door would make things possibly get better. It was a door of chance.

"I.... Choose..." He turned around and howled.

"DOOR NUMBER THREE!"
