A matter of change
This is my first attempt at writing a story involving furies so forgive me if it isn't all that good. If you do like the look of this story though, theres plenty more on the way. Sorry no yiffing yet though, I still need a bit more practice in that area. Enjoy!
Chapter 1: Awakening
Isn't it strange how change can bring out the best and the worst in people? Take me for example. Now I was never the most popular kid in my school, in fact I was quite the opposite. I had kinda long dark brown hair, brown eyes, was fairly tall and cursed with acne. I never really got on with other people, though it wasn't for the lack of trying. All of my family said that I was a really nice guy; mature, funny, and very clever, so I could never understand why I was hated so much in school. I always fell out with the wrong kind of people and my so called friends never wanted anything to do with me. Whenever I got in a fight or needed help with something, they were always no where to be found. That's loyalty for you! I was the kind of kid who did his home work at the very last minute but still managed to get an A* for his poor efforts. I guess I was just lucky. I was also unlucky in the fact that I had no social life what so ever. I enjoyed music, video games, computers, writing, reading; all the kinds of things 16 year olds never talked about with their friends, for they simply didn't care. I would rather stay at home and watch a video than go out and see a movie. Guess that sums me up in one sentence doesn't it?
Any way like I said, I was all of these things. I used to be the loner who would sleep in till 1 pm in stead of going out and embracing life like all other teenagers should be. That was before the change happened. I know this may sound absurd, but one day whist I was walking my dog, trying to think of some other way to cope with school instead of ditching every other day, a large black van pulled up beside me. Now what happened next taught me never to be as helpful or as considerate as I was back then. I went up to the door of the van, knocked on the window and asked if they needed directions or anything. Big mistake. Before I knew it I was on the floor, paralysed from the neck down from where I had been shot with a tranquilizer dart. As my world slowly faded to black, all I remembered was two butch thugs, and what looked like a scientist, dressed all in white. The dry smile on his face will haunt me till the day I die.
When I awoke the first thing that hit me was how badly my head hurt. It was pounding, probably a side effect from the tranquiliser. I tried to stand up from where I was sitting but my legs simply gave out from underneath me. I then tried opening my eyes, only to find that everything was black. I panicked and began to fear that I had gone blind. I soon realised that I was simply blindfolded. I really was an idiot. Any way the relief didn't last long as I moved my hand up to head to try to remove the bandage around my eyes. I froze as I touched the side of my face. Unless I had been asleep for a year or two and not had a haircut, there was now hair all of my face. Not only my face but everywhere! My neck, my hands, my arms. I ripped open my shirt and felt around. It was all over me. But it didn't feel like hair. It was shorter, soft in some places but coarser in others. It felt like...it felt like...
"Fur." I said it aloud. But when I moved my mouth, my lips, my tongue, it all felt different. It felt longer, rougher, and I nearly bit my tongue in two with what felt like razor blades for teeth. I slowly moved my hand towards it to see what the difference was. Like I said, it was longer, rougher, with a small wet patch at the end. It was a muzzle. I had a muzzle like a dog's, or a foxes or even a wolf's. I felt the top of my head to find two pointy ears on either side, both perked up to hear for any type of sound. I ran all this information through my head again and again and again, and finally decided that I needed to see what had happened to me with my own eyes. I frantically started scratching and clawing at my blindfold in a desperate attempt to tear it off. Before I managed to remove the whole thing I heard a massive explosion. It shook the entire building and sent me flying off my chair to the floor. My ears were ringing and I almost screamed in pain; they were much sensitive now than they were before. Obviously another part of the change. I had no idea what was going on. Alarms were going off all around me and the sound of a thousand feet running for their lives filled the air. Far off in the distance I thought I heard what sounded like gunfire, and I really didn't want to stick around to find out. I tried getting up again only to fall flat on my face as my legs refused to respond. I tried calling for help, begging for someone to help me up and take my blindfold off, but my helpless cries were drowned out by everything else. I was getting desperate, I yelled as loud as I could but to no avail. If I looked like how I felt then of course no one would help me.
After struggling for what seemed like hours I eventually gave up and accepted the inevitable. I began thinking of my family, I might never see them again, and I never got the chance to say goodbye. Tears welled up in my eyes as I heard heavy footsteps all around me.
"Is this the kid?" his voice was deep and grizzly and scared the living daylights out of me. Was I the kid they were talking about? Were they here to rescue me, or were they here for some other reason. I dared not say anything, I could barely breath. My heart was pounding so hard it would have leapt out ages ago, if I hadn't been holding my chest so hard.
"Yeah this is him. Wow they really did a number on him, I feel sorry for the guy." What? What had they done to me? Who were they? A thousand questions ran through my mind as I heard more people enter the room.
"What's going on here...Jesus what happened to him? He looks like a..."
"Private that's enough. Now give me a hand getting him outta here and into the truck."
"Sir yes sir." And with that I felt two muscular men pick me up and carry me away. As I passed in and out of consciousness, all I remember were the gasps of frightened soldiers as I was thrown into the back of a car before I passed out all together.
I woke up a few hours later on a bed looking up at a pair of familiar faces. They seemed both shocked and glad to see me.
"M...Mum, D...Dad!" I stuttered. I tried to get up to hug them but was held down by someone beside me. "I had the weirdest dream. Wait...Where am I?" I tried looking around to find something was getting in the way of my vision; I tried moving it out of the way only to find it was attached to my face. It was a muzzle! I hadn't dreamt it! I felt around to find that I really was covered in fur. "What the...? What happened to me? Where am I? Somebody tell me!" I was starting to get angry. I looked around to find that I was in a hospital bed, surrounded by doctors and relatives. Over in the corner I noticed an armed guard, this scared me, but I had more important things to panic about.
I started panting heavily, my heart thumping deep within me.
"I need a mirror..." I said calmly. "Some one get me a MIRROR!" I completely lost it. The armed guard looked in my direction as my mum reached into her purse, tears streeming from her eyes, and pulled out a compact mirror. I took it in my hand which I now realised was more like a paw, with soft padding on my palm and claws which I could extend and retract of my own free will. I brought the small black box up to my face and opened it slowly, shutting my eye lids before I saw the reflection. Did I dare open them again? What would I see? There was only one way to find out. I opened my eyes and looked deep into the eyes of the creature staring back at me. I was a...a...
Sorry to leave you at a cliff-hanger but this is just a teaser to see if you like the story so far. Next instalment coming soon though if people like the looks of it! i also promise that the next chapter will be longer and more detailed, as this was only to set the scene for what i hope to be a long line of episodes.
