#2 of Another Love Story

Part two, hoping this series is looking good. I'm already writing part 4. This is a little shorter and we see some dialogue between Axel and Damian. We see a little more of Axel's hobbies and personality. His personality won't be revealed until the next chapter. :D

ALSO! Comments would be greatly appreciated! and a rating to see where I could improve!

'Oh crap, here comes the embarrassment again.' I thought as the same blush appeared and all eyes were once again on me. There was one pair of eyes that froze me in terror. His eyes; his beautiful green intense eyes were staring at me from a chair in the middle of a group of men. He seemed puzzled as to why I was in there, as well as did others. He seemed more concerned, seeing as how we just had an encounter.

"Oh! Axel! Come take a seat here in the tenor section! Class, please welcome Axel to Chambers! He's a transfer from Pine High School and he just auditioned for choir in Concert. He is going to replace Alex, who left for some reason. Nevertheless, we are now in balance once again. Axel, Damian is the President, so any concerns, talk to him. He'll get you situated with your tux, concerts, events, etc. Your section leader is Aaron." She pointed at a gecko who had an stuck up look to him. He just turned to me, stared me top to bottom and turned his back. 'Looks like someone needs an attitude adjustment...' I thought silently. "Okay, well this brings us to the subject of art song! The competition is two weeks from now and we are having auditions as of now. Axel had already auditioned, but maybe he'd be so kind to show this class what he sang."

My ears perked forward as I heard the word 'competition.' I've tried for that competition before and have always been declined to actually participate. This was my chance to finally realize what the hell the competitors won! I stood up and repeated the whole process and sang and everyone seemed to roll their eyes, but a couple of people actually looked genuinley surprised and one person even teared up. The class clapped and I went to sit back down. I felt his stare as I went to sit in the back row.

"Beautiful. If anyone else would like to audition. Axel is going to represent us in the Freshman/Sophomore Male division. We still need one more and then the other categories need to be filled."

"I'll go, Mrs. Walters." Said Damian in that booming voice. He stood up and took from his folder a sheet of music. I was surprised to see that such a masculine guy would be in choir. The girls started to whisper and giggle and the guys started cheering him on. I felt a pat on my shoulder and I turned to see a leopard smiling at me. He was pretty nerdy looking, but also very sweet. He gave me a thumbs up and extended his paw and I reached to give him a hand shake.

"Name's Peter! You did awesome, man! You really made me cry! I didn't even know what the song was!" I just chuckled and nodded my head. I still heard murmurs coming from girls as he was busy pointing out things on his music. I stared at him intently and seemed confused. "All the girls love Damian. He's a junior, but he's pretty damn good." Whispered Peter. "He and I were best friends. Hell, we still are. The only thing that tore us apart was the girls. They started liking him and he started going out with some hoes. I kept trying to tell him they were fake, but he got really arrogant and as soon as they dumped him, he and I were friends again, but it wasn't the same. We never argued like that."

I nodded and he then came to the center of the room. "I'm Damian and I'm a junior at Autumn Hills High School. Today, I'll be performing "L'amee evaporee et soufrante" by Gabriel Faure." He smiled and then his gaze had turned to mine and we were locked once again. My soft gaze succumbing to his intense stare. The music started playing and his eyes became welcoming. His personality was changing as his mood conformed to the music. The first note lingered and his voice lulled me to subconsciousness as he sang with such melodic mesmeration. His higher notes floated and chills crawled all over my body, my sine tingled and an ice cold feeling swept over my body. He finished singing, even thought I wasn't aware of it, and the class roared with cheers and applause. He bowed and motioned at the accompanist and she stood and bowed elegantly. He smiled and he looked at me. 'Why does he keep staring at me!? ' I thought bitterly as I turned my head in flattery and anger. I was really curious, but for some reason, I was paranoid and I was thinking that he was challenging me.

"Beautiful job, Damian!" Said Mrs. Walters. "I think you might have a spot in art song. Well, everyone else, let's go ahead and start the auditions!" That class was riddled with diferent kinds of emotions; anger, pride, lonely, curiousity, overwhelment. Still, I had fun in that class, especialy because Peter. Peter was giving me the basic steps to know about singing, etiquette, concerts, basically doing Damian's job in a nutshell. Halfway into the period, Damian tapped my shoulder and signaled for me to go into a back room. My stomach fluttered again with butterflies. I followed and I was cautious not to say anything that would tick him off. I was still in awe, but the overall effect came down, though I was still nervous to talk.

"I didn't know you could sing." He said as he rummaged through a rack of tux coats.

"I've been singing since third grade." I said, my tail swishing back and forth as I finally said something coherent and relevent.

"You're pretty good. You're really good, actually. You might give me a run for my money."

"I don't think so, you sing amazingly. It'll take some practice before I could even reach your level."

"It's not practice that got me to where I'm at, it's me loving music. Plus, it's a good stress reliever so I do it happily." He said as he pulled out a coat from its hanger and he walked over to me. He waited for me, still holding the coat. Took me a second to realize he was asking for me to hold out my arms. I did so and he wrapped me with the jacket and buttoned up the front. He chuckled and realized the arms were a bit too long. "Well, it's a bit long, but it's a perfect fit on your body. Speaking of, do you play football?" He asked as he unbuttoned me. It didn't make sense until now that he actually has seen my body. At first, I was flattered, but then I realized that he's probably a sports person, too. No way anyone could be that buff and not be in a sport. Sure he was in choir, but that probably wasn't the only case.

"No, I play baseball. I like track and field too and I wanna learn to play volleyball. Football doesn't interest me."

"You should consider it." He said flatout.

"Are you in football?" I asked stupidly.

"Yeah, defense and running back. I also play volleyball, baseball and wrestling." He said. I was amazed at how jock-like he was. A wrestler, football player, baseball AND volleyball?! No wonder he was so fit. No wonder he was adored by his classmates.

"Hey, you're in baseball, too? What position? I play shortstop, all outfield and sometimes third base, I'm more of an batter, though."

"I don't play with school. I play outside during the summer. I play batter, pitcher, sometimes outfield too." He said.

"Oh." I said disappointed, wishing I would've seen him play.

"The volleyball team is pretty good, maybe I could give you some tips. I'm in varsity."

"I don't know much about it." I said embarrassed.

"It'll be fun to teach you." He said, still serious and not too enthusiastic or much dynamic in his flat-toned, but still amazingly beautiful voice.

"Thanks, I guess." After that, he just rummaged through the pants and found a perfect size, as well as shirt, tie, vest and pocket square. He showed me how to fold the pocket square and how to take care of the tux, when to dry clean it, where to get it hemmed.

"Any questions?" He asked.

"Yeah, are you mad at me that I bumped into you?" I said meekly as my ears folded in. He grinned and chuckled. He grabbed a piece of paper and wrote quite a bit on it. It was a checklist for everything I should know about the tux, concerts, gigs, competitions that I'd be interested in and other information for the first two months of the second semester.

"If you have any questions, just email me. I'd prefer if you call me so that way, I could answer faster and you could know in advanced." He wrote his number on the checklist and labelled it as 'Damian.' "And to answer your question, no. I found it funny that you were knocked over so easily." He chuckled again and walked out of the room.

With that, the class ended and I said goodbye to Peter. When we were talking, he had informed me that he was in volleyball and he, too, would show me the ropes. I walked over to the lockers and gave my schedule to the coach, who wasn't surprised at all because he was happy to have me on his team. He saw how I played one year when our JV teams were playing against each other. It was my first time pitching and I pitched a no-hitter. Also, I ran 3 home runs.

"Not bad..." bragged my coach to him "..for a first year." He chuckled. The coach from AHHS then decided that he needed me on his varsity team and now that he had me, he was happy to put me on the field without a try-out. He gave me my new uniform and I had my gym clothes in my backpack. I changed and I put on my ball cap and walked on over to the field.

"Everyone!" Boomed the coach, a hefty balding lion with a big heart, but an even bigger temper. "Listen up, now I want you to welcome a new player to the team. He hasn't practiced with us, but he's really good, exceptionally good actually. His name's Axel and he left Pines to join us here!" The players started hooting and cheering and patting my back and shaking my hand. "Now, go warm up and get ready for mock." said the coach as we started to get in formation to warm up. I met some more guys and they welcomed me to the team and gave me the heads up on players formations. I was appointed the position of center outfielder and batter. We did some practice runs and I showed the team what I was capable of. When we did batting drills, I hit two home runs, three bunts, four hits and got out once. The coach was cheering me on and was so happy to have me on his team. As I was stretching for cool down, I noticed some guys throwing a football in the distance. The baseball diamond and football field weren't too far from each other, they were actually neighboring one another. I saw some guys just hanging out by the bleachers, pointing out players and judging. They were all buff, hugely built, shirtless might I add shamelessly. I looked a bit more closely and saw Damian, in his shirtless, muscular glory. I could've swore that my pants got tighter by the second and I did whatever I could to draw attention away from my growing manhood. I was so embarrassed and my face was flushed with red.

I heard someone shout from the distance, "Flyball on your left, Ax!" and I saw a ball heading towards the bleachers, which was actually quiet a distance. The batter hit it hard and far. I ran with all my speed and extended my paw. I wasn't gonna make it, so I decided to extend my arm outward and tck and roll.

"COME ON, AX!" Shouted the coach as he was off the edge of his seat, turning pink. The ball fell in my glove and I tucked and as soon as I caught my balance, threw it to the second base, who got two outs in one hit. The whole team cheered and the coach was hooting like mad in pure pride and excitement. I fell to my rear end and started panting for air as I looked up to the sky and smiled. I looked over to the bleachers and saw that no one was watching. "You gotta be fucking kidding me." I puffed as I fell on my back in anger and disappointment.
