Awakening

"I CAN"T BELIEVE WERE GOING TO CANTERLOT!" Pinkie pie screamed excitedly. it was early the next morning on the early rail road ride for Canterlot. "I'm gonna go to all the candy shops and bakeries and taste all the tastey treats and throw a big party and..." "Pinkie!" twilight, rainbow dash, rarity, apple jack and spike all yelled, trying to calm her down. pinkie pie stopped bouncing around and just stood there with a big grin on her face. "pinkie remember, we are only going to canterlot on business. NO PARTIES." twilight said to the happy pink pony "twilight, why are we going to canterlot anyways? you told me that you had something really cool to show the princess." rainbow dash asked. "yes. i would love to see this creature you found. i would love to make friends with it...and....and maybe see if angel wants a new friend to play with." Fluttershy said with her usual quiet, cute voice. "well..." twilight explained, "its not really that kind of creature..." "oh? what kind of creature is it?" fluttershy asked with a slightly confused look. "twilight nodded towards the door to the cargo car, "Follow me." Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy watched twilight curiously. "twilight stopped at the door and looked back to her friends. "don't worry, it won't bite. i promise." she said openning the door for them. The two pegusie walked in together , awaiting for the creatures sight.

when they entered the storage cart, pinkie pie's, rainbow dash's, and fluttershy's eyes eyes stared in wonder at the statue. "Woah! that is so cool!" rainbow dash jumped into the air and flew around the statue, examining every part of the statues body. "its even got a cool sword and really sick armor!" "i-is that a...?" fluttershy continued to look, her body beginning to shake. "dragon!" she half yelled, half whispered. she jumped up and hid behind pinkie pie, covering her face with her hooves and her body shaking. "Oh relaxe fluttershy. its not scary." pinkie pie said with a smile, walking up to the statue. "see. its solid." she said giving a knock on the statue. fluttershy still hid behind pinkie pie as pinkie drug her a little closer. she peeked out and saw the statues frozen roar and hid back again, shaking a little harder. rainbow dash continued to marvel the statues sword and wings on its back. twilight walked up to fluttershy and looked at her curiously. "Fluttershy? you all right?" fluttershy shook her hand quickly. "N-no... its... a-ah...dragon!" she whisper yelled before running past twilight and into the passenger car again. twilight sighed and went to talk to her other friends.

"Approaching Canterlot station! Five minutes!" the conductor announced over the trains intercom. "we should get the statue ready for the movers. i hope celestia has sent some strong ponies." twilight said to theyre friends. "Agreed, that thing is mighty heavy." Apple Jack said remembering the weight from when they lifted the statue. they all walked back into the cargo car, with rainbowdash dragging fluttershy by her tail. when the train came to a complete stop, they began to untie the straps that held the statue down. rarity checked outside and smiled when she saw that celestia and luna were waiting for them, with six guards around her. "Why Celestia, luna, what a pleasure to see you." rarity said with a smile greeting her friends. "Hello there Rarity. we heard you had a statue for us?" rarity nodded. "indeed, and my my my, i see you brought help, we will most definantly need that." she said nodding to the guards. the large ramped door lowered from the car, allowing for easier moving for the statue. the guards moving in to help the girls move the statue. the seven friends moved out of the way so that the guards can can work. Celestia and luna greeted the rest of the friends and theyre smiles turned to looks of amazment when they saw the statue. "um... princesses?" twilight waved a hoof infront of them. the princesses shook theyre heads at the same time and watched the guards strain to carry the statue. "they may want a cart for that..." rarity suggested.

after the statue was placed on a quickly found cart, the group began the walk to the castle. "so, spike, i hear your the one that found the statue?" Celestia asked the young dragon that now rode on rarity's back. "looked up to her and nodded. "yea. but i hurt my claw in the process." he said holding up his claw which had a bandage around it. "don't worry, i'll have the doctor look at it for you." Celestia assured the dragon. luna looked over to the friends and then at the statue with a confused look. "What is it?" everyone looked to luna then back to the statue. "Honestly. we don't know." rarity explained to the princesses. "we took it to twilight because we thought she might know something. but she was just as confused as we were." rarity explained to the night princess. luna continued to marvel at the statue. seeing its firm muscular pattern on its arms and legs. its armor being scraped and damaged. she looked up at its mid roar face, teeth bared and its eyes locked on a nonexsistant object. he gaze was lost into its eyes, there was a distant mumbling that was heard before she was suddenly rudely awaken from the trance by a hard hit in the head. Luna backed up and held her head while she groaned lightly from the pain. "what the..." she said dizzily." all the ponies tried not to laugh as she looked ahead of her and saw large pillar. "I ran into that didn't i...?" she asked with a hint of embarassment. they all nodded with small snickers while rainbow dhas laughed out loud. "HAHA yea you did. it was halarious!" a blush could be seen on luna's cheeks as she continued to walk forward again. "Rainbow Dash!" twilight yelled at rainbow dash. "Don't laugh at the princesses." "Its quite alright twilight. It is actually kind of funny." Luna assured the unicorn.

apon entering the castle the group of nine followed the guards to the grand mall garden, where the statue would be placed. once there the guards went to wrk unloading the statue from the cart. "So, princess? any idea on what it is?" Twlight asked. Celestia shook her head softly. "no, i actually do not really know what this creature is. although it does look to be like it may have a few dragon-like qualities." she said refering to the scales a tail. "that is what what we were thinking." twilight said with a soft sigh. "oh! do you know of any great artists that might have carved it?" Rarity now asked. both princesses looked to each other and shook theyre heads. "Actually, no. i can think of some, but i don't think any of them could have done this peice of work. there is just too much detail in it." Celestia answered truthfully. "Luna? any ideas? Luna?" Celestia turned her head to luna to see that she seemed lost in another trance, examining the statue. Celestia looked at her sister curiously before tapping her flank lightly. "Luna?" Luna shook her head quickly, and looked around. "I am sorry sister, i get so intuiged of that statue, and no. i don't believe so." at that moment, the clock towers bell rung through out signaling it was noon. "my little ponies?" celestia asked the group. "Would you like to join Luna and i for lunch?" they all nodded happily and agreences were spead through the group. "alright, lets head to the dinning area then, we are having spinich salads with a saphire punch." even more cheerful the group of friends then left to enjoy a nice meal together, except for rarity, whom was reminded of something importatnt and stayed with the statue, holding spike with her.

"speaking of which spike, where was that gem that caused us to find this statue? spike, did you find any gems when you were digging?" spike shook his head. "no, not one." "then that must mean..." rarity said looking up at that statue. her horn began to glow with magic, exposing the same oddly shapped teal colored gem, just below the neck of the statue. rarity gasped "There it is!" she sent he magic away, causing the gem to disapear under the statues stone surface. "Its in the stone!?" she yelled in frustration. "the most amazing, absolutly gorgeous, gem is incased in stone!? URG!" she puffed as she reared up on her hind hooves, kicking the statues base. the statue rocked back and forth a few times before settling flatly onto the ground again. Rarity sighed and hung her head. "awww, Rarity, its oka-" spike tried to comfort her, placing a warm claw on her mane before the statue began to glow a bright blue light. the suprise of the bright blue light frightened the two, causing them both to jump up and hug each other tightly. the statue looked as if it was cracking all over , causing blinding light to spill out from the cracks. spike and rarity watched in awe as the sky was filled with bright blue light, it was too bright, causing them to close theyre eyes and cover theyre faces. then the light was gone, but replacing it, was a loud, feroucious roar. the two screamed in terror as the statue was now alive!

the dragon-like creature roared loudy, causing the glass to rattle on the nearby castle walls. it then fell to its knee's, breathing heavily with slight growls from every breath. rarity stood there, too scared to move, examining the creature. deep blue scales covered its body on the outsides, with a lighter sky blue inner color, the armor's steel shined in the light of the room. its dark blue mane fell downward towards the floor, haing low off of its head. the creature then dropped forward, holding itsself up by its claws, dropping its large heavy sword with a loud 'clank'! onto the tile flooring. the creature looked up with its bright blue eyes, its razor sharp teeth exposed. a necklace slip out from under its armor and hang from its neck, revealing a teal jewel incased in gold. "There it is! its it's necklace" rarity exclamied in thought. the creature continued to grunt and growl as it breathed hard, on closer inspection it showed that purple like blood was dripping off of it in different areas.

suddenly the door to the mall burst open, with applejack, rainbowdash, twilight, pinkie pie, fluttershy, and even the two princesses behind them, running into the garden to investigate the noise. they all gasped at the sight they saw. they all eximined the blue dragon like creature, with blood dripping off its body. its body began to shake as it looked up and around, examining the area, still breathing hevily. it looked into the eyes of everyone into the room before it started to crawl towards rarity, with a claw up reaching at her. Rarity hid behind spike and hugged his body tighter when the creature let out a groan and began to speak with a shakey, raspey voice. "h-h-he-help!" before it collapsed before them. celestia quickly jumped over the other ponies and examined the creature. "I'ts hurt! Hurry, run and call for my healers and doctors!" she commanded the other ponies. rainbow dash immediately jumped up into the air, "you got it." before she took off through the large doors.

all the other ponies gathered around the collapsed body of the creature. "hey ya'll, give e'm some air." Apple Jack said pushing ponies back. "Is it alive?" pinkie pie asked poking the arm of the creature. "pinkie!" twilight pulled the pink party pony back with a hoof. "we don't know what that thing is. it could hurt us. Celestia looked back behind her to see Rainbow Dash run in with doctors, nurses and healers close behind. "Out of the way!" a doctor yelled, pushing ponies away from the creatures body. after the group backed away, the nurses and healers all got to work. chatter from the healers could be heard on wat to do to help the creature. "come now my little ponies, we must talk about somthing very important." celestia commanded the seven friends. together they all walked out of the room to the throne room.

After the walk to the throne room, celestia and luna sat down on the thrones together. celestia took a deep breath and looked at her sister. "luna, i must ask you. have you ever seen anything like what was in that room?" Luna shook her head. "no dear sister, in all my days i have never seen one." luna replaied to her. "how about when you were infused with nightmare moon? in your travels with her do you believe you might have seen anything like this creature?" Luna bowed her head slightly, due to her sisters remark about her being the nightmare. "No... i don't believe so." celestia again nodded her head and looked to the ground in deep thought, silence filling the room. "Princess?" Twilight spoke up first, breaking the alicorns thought. "so... you have no idea what that thing is in there?" she said with a nod back towards the keep. Celestia shook her head. "no my dear twilight. my only idea is that it was some sort of dragon being, or lizard like creature." she said answering the pony.

Spike stood in the back of the group, twiddling his claws together with a nervous feeling. "why did it seem like i knew what it was. is it really a dragon?" spike pondered in his head. he was in deep thought when the door to the throne room opened slowly. with a white unicorn with slick, silvery armor entered the room. "Shining armor!" twilight exclaimed with a smile "Hey twilight. good to see you." the guard captain replied with a smile to his younger sister. "shining armor? i trust your here about the report of the creature?" celestia asked her faithful guard. he nodded slightly "yes. i have come to tell you that the creature is secured and is currently being watched by several guards." celestia nodded slowly. "also," shining armor continued, "from what we have done so far, i have come with the conclusion that this creature may be a threat to us and have taken the action to keep everyone away from it." "how did you come up with that?" twilight asked her big brother. "we attempted to move the creatures weapon, and we had to use two other guards just to move the sword. and four guards to move his body to the infirmerary. they both were very heavy so that creature must be extremely strong." he explained as most of the other ponies' eyes went wide. "and from what the doctors told me, this creature is heavily wounded due to a great amount of battle. with multiple holes in its body, some deep and some just slightly punctured, and a great amount of cuts and bruises on its arms and claws, its sword also looks like it was covered with some kind of blood."

"Blood? like, it attacked other ponies?" rarity asked. Shining armor shook his head. "no, its all unknown. we know nothing about this thing or how it got injured, and there are no reports of any kind of fighting occuring in equestria." "So its a space alien!" pinkie pie shouted. "or, or maybe its from the future and came back in time to stop a biiiig disaster! Or! or! *Gasps* Or maybe it-!" "PINKIE!" all the friends shouted at the pink pony. pinkie pie just smiled. "What? you know it could be true" she said with a giggle. they all sighed and shook theyre heads. twilight began to think, tapping her chin with her hoof. "what if pinkey is partailly right?" "all heads turned to twilight as she was in deep thought. "what if this creature isn't from the future, but maybe its from the past? that would explain why it was under ground, and why it might have been encased in stone." twilight explained her hypothosis. "i once read in historical books about the wars that happened in the past with many different creatures. so it could be an old warrior from those times." celestia and luna as with everyone else began thinking. fluttershy with the first to speak up, "So, um. are you saying...that...its a um...warrior from before us?" twilight nodded. "exactly. it could be an old time warrior. that would explain the armor and sword, and it not showing up in that rare creatures book i read earlier." "if that creature is an old time warrior, then i am tripling the guards around him. stories of old time warriors show them to be great fighters and could destroyed entire cities. and i am not taking any chances." shining armor said nodding back towards two guards that were at the entrance. they nodded back and turned to leave the room. shining armor turned back to the other ponies when the door behind them opened again. they all turned to see a young pink nurse unicorn with a white scrub on. "My princesses. It has Awaken."
