Worlds: B1, C5, Dragon
Everyone heard the roar. The crowd became uneasy, all fighting stopped. Out from behind the mountain, a dark figure emerged. Sleek, black scales that didn't reflect sunlight. Spikes sharp as swords line its back. Huge wings dark as night. There was no doubt about it, it was a dragon. The beast lands heavily on one of the towers and gives another roar that sounds like a thunderclap. Storm clouds gather and flaming rocks blast out of the center, right above the monster. All of the citizens break out in a panic, the guards aiming their bows at the dragon, Ty'gra and I forgotten.
"C'mon Bolt!" Ty'gra says, "We have to go! You tried to warn them and they didn't listen, that's all there is to it!" He grabs my arm and yanks, "We. Have. To. Go!"
But I stand there, transfixed. The demonic creature breathing fire and killing people keeping my sight. For some reason, I feel like this is all my fault. Everything seems to go silent, the only things in the universe being me and the dragon.
"Dragonborn! Where is the Dragonborn?!" All at once, the sound comes back. It takes a second to register, but I realize it was the dragon talking. No one seems to answer its question, though it keeps asking. I have the vague feeling of someone pulling on my arm, but I ignore it. Slowly, my legs bring me closer to the dragon. My mind tells them to stop, but I keep walking. Soon, I'm within speaking distance of it.
"Hey, dragon! Stop this right now!" The words leave my mouth, but I don't mean to say them. All of a sudden, everything stops. The dragon turns to look at me; even the people stop and stare at me.
"Hmm. Interesting."The dragon's voice is like stone rubbing stone, yet smooth, and obviously male. "There you are. I should've seen you earlier with those wings of yours"
"You were looking for me?" I was right, this is my fault. "Why?"
"Reasons that I'd rather keep to myself." I have to do something. If not, this town and everyone in it are done for.
"Well, how about this? I'll fight you. If I win, you leave this place for good."
"And if I win?"
"You can take me." I say with a sigh. His eyes narrow to thin slits and he chuckles, a deep sound more like sporadic growling than laughter.
"I accept. My name is Alduin, and I will be your slayer." Alduin roars the words "barrier", "protect", and "selective". Suddenly, all the guards in the area are pushed away until the dragon and I are standing in a circle of people.
"How did you do that?" I ask, intrigued by the strong magic activated by just three words.
"Shouting, of course. Now, you beat me last time, but I won't go easy on you again! Fire Inferno Sun!" With the last sentence, a blazing fire erupts from his mouth. I manage to dive out of the way just in time. I have no time to dwell on what he just said. Alduin shouts "Frost Cold Freeze" and a blast of cold wind blows past me. I try to dodge again, but the attack catches my leg, coating it in ice. Alduin sees this and lurches forward, jaws wide open. As fast as I can, I spin around and kick him in the side of the head with my frozen leg. The ice shatters off and the dragon stumbles sideways. He rubs the spot I hit him with the side of his talon. "Hmm. I knew you wouldn't be that easy to best." He sends another burst of fire my way, but this time I'm ready. I quickly sidestep the blast and rush toward him while he's recovering. Before he can avoid it, I send my fist up into Alduin's jaw, making his head snap back. I look down at my hand.
"How did I do that?" I whisper to myself. Alduin took advantage of this and tried to crush me with his tail. It smashed into the ground, I only just able to avoid it. The claw that came next, however, raked across my chest. The force knocked me back, but the steel armor protected my skin. Before I could get up, the dragon launched himself toward me and pinned me down with his clawed foot. He bent down and leered at me.
"You lost." He growled, "But you did put up a decient fight." Alduin's eyes were blood red, his mouth was turned up in a draconic smile. "So here's what's going to happen."
