Frozen Silence, Introduction
A bit of a short introduction, but more will be added in the next part most likely. Hope you enjoy.~
Memories of a past life, old friends, cherished and gone. The laughter. The jokes. The kills. It all comes back to her at once. The blank holes in her memory, the ones long since forgotten since she died. She remembers Emerick. Hunting with him, laughing with him, fighting alongside him. In her subconscious, she runs past all that, to the newer memories. The ones of Atticus, Zephyr, Lokyar, and Warren. The ones who accepted her for who she is now and not her past self. She skids to a halt in her own mind, a black cloud consuming her and her memories yet again.
Thunder booms, shaking the windows, and a flash of lightning soon follows after. Jolting awake, she breathes heavily and gets out of the bed, rubbing her eyes as she walks to the bathroom. Another nightmare. Just what she needed to keep her up at night. Turning on the water without turning on the light, she splashes some of it onto her face, drying off with a hand towel. She looks into the mirror, white/silver eyes staring back at her. Her ears flick to the sound of her name being called groggily, and she steps out of the bathroom, closing the door behind her. A figure steps into the hall, rubbing his eyes and looking more tired than she did. "Kitane, is everything all right?" He asked groggily, leaning against the wall and blinking a few times. Nodding, she leans against the door frame, a yawn parting her jaws as she crosses her arms over her chest.
"Yeah.. Just another nightmare." She says, offering him a slight smile. He closes his eyes as he rubs them again, pushing off the wall.
"You have the strangest nightmares sometimes." He mumbles. A slight chuckle escapes from her and she starts walking back to the bedroom. He follows after her, wrapping his arms around her torso before she steps foot into the bedroom. "But I'm here for you incase you need me." He whispers into her ear. A slight shiver runs down her back as she could feel his warm breathing in her ear. She lays her head against his shoulder and smiles.
"I know, and I love you for it." She smiles, closing her eyes a little. Picking her up, he takes her into the bedroom and lays her back down, laying next to her and pulling her slightly closer. Pretty soon, both of them are peacefully sleeping this way, the storm still raging outside.
