The next day was set to be an odd day from the beginning. As Spyro walked from his room he noticed increased activity amongst the guardians. He was curious but figured he should wait until they told him. He decided that he wanted to do something fun today, if not fun then just exciting. After all he deserved some time to enjoy himself. Of course if a pressed matter arose he would be part of that, which was unlikely. He didn't know what to do and remembered Cynder, so he decided to wait for her. He just thought of combos he could do with other powers and that gave him an idea, he could do some training, maybe with Cynder. So he went down to see if she was awake, not realizing how rude he was being. He knocked on her room door hoping she was awake, and so she was. She came out looking a little flustered so he asked her if she was had a problem. "Something wrong Cynder?"

"Of course not, why would you think that?" Even though she was torn on her decision about telling Spyro about her feelings for him.

"You just look a little bit like your flustered, that's all. Hey I was going to ask if you maybe wanted to train with me?"

She seemed to like the idea but asked, "Why, there is no threats to worry about."

"Just for a little fun, no powers to be fair."

"Ha, you call that fair, the only way you could beat me is with your powers." She was messing with him now.

"Come on let's see who's best at this." They raced each other to the training room. Once they got there they sent the statue down. "Let's make this interesting." He said. Once they were ready, he put up an elemental barrier, of which will go down when someone says crystal, meaning they lose.

"You're on."

Spyro thought to himself that he was going to lose. He would go easy on her because he loved her but by no means let her make a fool of him. She was also unpredictable so he had to stay on his guard as best he could. Proof of this was shown when she simply sat down, although keeping her eye on him. He cautiously approached, ready to evade anything she tried to do. Once he was withing five feet of her he started running circles around her in an attempt to make her dizzy. He was losing his energy fast though and that was when she struck. She leaped at him whipped the flat of her tail blade upon his side multiple times. Determined, Spyro leaped towards her legs to knock her over. Before he could get a good aim she swung her tail forward, slapping him straight on the face. He was already tired of fighting because he made no progress. Then he realized the trick, progress is counterproductive. He needed her to attack him to get the upper hand. He started slowly walking around her, easily within striking distance. As he went around he saw her get more and more frustrated with his tactics. Finally she broke and jumped at Spyro. Spyro dodged the attacked hit his head under her belly flinging her across the training room. She was backed against the elemental wall now and aggressive strategies were her only hope. She wouldn't let him get any closer then her own body legnth. Then her mind began to wander and she thought about Spyro and how she loved him. That was when he struck. He pushed her back against the elemental wall which, unlike most elemental walls, was more a wall then a barrier, not causing any pain. He held her down and started scratching her soft underside with his legs. She was in pain and he knew it, she never said crystal and he never stopped until he looked down at the damage he had caused her. He let go right then, in which she dropped to the ground, unable to get up. He whispered in her ear so she could hear, "Crystal." He wanted to help her but didn't know what to do. He looked around until he saw something shiny in one of the plants that lined the walls of the training room. He walked over to it and picked up a life crystal. He ran over to Cynder who was trying desperately to get up. He dropped the crystal in front of her then ran off to his room. Before he got there Volteer stopped him, saying he needed to talk to him about something.
