I'm still working on BatW but since I'm not uploading it until Werewulf is finished I'll be focusing on this =) Sorry if this is to similar to Spiritbound at first I'm really trying to make it my own and Plainwalk (the author of said story) is helping me with that... Okay here I've reuploaded it and this time it's normal thank god...

9/30/2018 Update Okay I'm gonna do some reediting of some of the older chapters starting with Chapter 1... I am not really satisfied with the older chapters and am gonna do my best to bring them up to my current standard!

Chapter 1: Introductions

Lucas just lay on his bed. He had a lot on his mind and he couldn't let himself relax. Really he should be getting up as he needed to get ready for school, but he was too deep in his thoughts to care. He sighed and closed his eyes trying to get his head on straight. Lucas was an Arctic Fox with pretty white fur and bright blue eyes. He was a small guy, maybe 165cm or so and was kinda scrawny along with it. He was never that good in sports, and was quite happy to be just standing around in the background.

He probably would've lain there even longer if a voice didn't interrupt his thoughts, "You up Luc? Come-on you need to get ready!" He heard his sister call from the other side of the door.

"I'm Up Erin!" he called back before he got of his bed and started getting his stuff together.

Today was Monday again...mid November. He was in Grade 11... one more year of school and he would be free... Figuring he didn't need a shower he quickly got dressed in his uniform. White shirt tucked into black trousers...dark blue jacket and a black and teal tie. Once he found his uniform was in order he walked out the door to see Erin standing outside waiting for him.

"God I thought you'd never get up! Mom just left a few hours ago and dad said he'd be home next week maybe if the deal goes down." She stated in a cheerful tone.

"You talked to him?" Lucas asked not really interesting. He and his dad weren't on the best terms... the old man was always away on business and when he was home he was usually too tired to do anything else but sleep.

"Yup...He even promised to take us camping when he gets home!" She sounded so excited that Lucas didn't have the heart to tell her that their dad would probably back out last second... again leaving her heartbroken.

"Awesome," he managed in an unenthusiastic manner. Erin seemed to catch on to that quickly enough and frowned.

"Come-on Luc, can you be excited for SOMETHING for once? I know you try and keep this whole 'ice-king' persona about you, but I'm your sister!" He just sighed and she quickly apologized. "It's okay Luc... but really you really shouldn't hold everything back! That isn't healthy," she muttered.

"I'm fine Erin, trust me... Now grab your bag and let's get to school," he said as he headed downstairs. His parents had let them turn the attic into their own private loft with three bedrooms one for both of them and another for guests... as if they ever had any... a shared bathroom which Erin always hogged and a game-room. Quickly he kicked the stairs catch, letting them open and allowing them to go down to the main house. Just as Erin said, it was empty an when he made it the kitchen he saw a note on the fridge written in his mother's handwriting...

Dear Lucas and Erin,

I had to catch an early flight so I'm sorry if you guys wake up to see me gone. I'll call you when I touch down in Cairo. You should have enough groceries to last you until your father gets home. I love you both and will see you very soon.

Love Mother.

Lucas just sighed. He loved his mom but she was around even less than their dad... she was a model... she had fashion shows and photo-shoots among other things that kept her away from home more often than not... _'At least she keeps her promises,' _he bitterly thought to himself.

Erin walked in fixing her uniform breaking him from his thoughts. Girls wore a white blouse and the same dark blue jacket, but they wore a black pleaded skirt and a teal ascot instead of trousers and a tie. Seeing him with the letter she sighed, "Wish her flight could've been later so we could've said good-bye..." She remarked in a somewhat gloomy manner while he just scowled.

As much as he loved his mother he felt angry... then he felt nothing... he just let the feeling go as he breathed in and out before he turned towards his little sister bring her close to him.

"It's okay Erin, I wish her flight was later to, but what can we do about it?" he asked and she shook her head.

"Nothing much I guess... so, have you got yourself a boyfriend yet?" she asked out of the blue catching him off-guard.

He just glared at her while she just laughed at his shocked expression. He had told her he was gay back when he was in Grade 9 and ever since then she had tried to set him up with varies different boys... Truth to be told his secret hadn't been secret for long. He was probably one of the few openly gay students in his class. Thankfully Erin had managed to keep the bullies away from him she was friends with everybody so they just ignored her oddball brother.

"No I haven't..." He muttered in annoyance... thinking of when he came out to his parents. They had been surprised, shocked even. His mom took it quite well it seemed, but his dad... well he didn't take it too well at all. They had gotten into a vicious argument that night.

"Well maybe if you just smiled and didn't act like a robot all the time maybe you would have one," she gently teased.

"I do not act like a robot!" He hollered causing her to burst out laughing.

"Yes you do! You never smile or talk to other people and you are always sitting alone at lunch... do you have any friends...any at all?" she asked and he just shook his head.

Even before he came out he was an outcast. Being gay just made him even more of one.

"Why would it matter? Not everybody can be as outgoing and chipper as you Erin," he said as they headed out of the door.

Today was pretty sunny for a November morning and the weather wasn't that bad either. So the siblings decided to grab their bikes and pedalled towards their destination. Bayfield seemed even more busy then usual but then again living so close to Vancouver it would make sense that the town would be busy. After about ten minutes of biking the two reached the campus of Greenheart Academy. The school was probably one of the most exclusive schools in the country and Lucas didn't even want to think of how much it cost their parents to get them into the place. Once they parked and locked their bikes, they split up each of them going to their lockers. He put his boxed lunch in and got out the books for his first three classes and started to run as fast as he could making sure he wouldn't be late for homeroom. He was going to fast he didn't realize someone had just walked in front of him until it was too late and he crashed right into a complete stranger knocking him onto his ass while his books scattered everywhere.

"Oh shit! I'm sorry!" he exclaimed nervous. He was probably going to get beaten up for this... the boy wouldn't want the 'fag' touching him would he? But the voice wasn't angry... in fact it was apologetic.

"No problem mate, it's my fault. I should have been paying attention before I stepped out... Greg is always trying to drill that into my head."

That voice founded funny... foreign... he couldn't place an exact location but it sounded British. He looked up to see the source of the voice and looked into the handsome face of a dark furred wolf. He was taller than Lucas by a good margin and he seemed pretty built, but those green eyes seemed friendly.

"What's your name?" he asked as he helped the smaller boy up.

"Lucas, I'm Lucas Mason... who are you?" He asked just noticing the tall tiger standing behind the wolf. Noticing this he gave a small grin.

"I'm Ian, Ian Mansfield and the big feline here is my buddy Greg Moore. We're new... just moved into town about a week ago."

"That's... nice," Lucas muttered managing to go back to his normal aloof state. Ian seemed to frown at the sudden change but smiled.

"We're just looking for our homeroom... uh Homeroom 11-D I think," he said looking to the tiger who only gave a small nod, "Yeah that's it!"

"11-D huh? You're in luck... that's my homeroom. Follow me," Lucas replied walking past them with a purposeful stride.

The two boys just looked towards each other and shrugged following him and soon enough they found the classroom and walked in just before the bell rang. Lucas quickly took his seat while the two boys went up to the teacher giving him a note.

"Hmm... Everything seems in order... Welcome to Greenheart Mr Mansfield and Mr Moore, now take you seats please... Ian row three, seat five and Gregory row seven, seat nine." The teacher, Mr. Carter told them in a friendly tone.

Lucas felt himself stiffen somewhat. He was Row three seat four... The wolf... Ian was going to be sitting behind him. He felt a blush start to spread across his face but he managed to suppress it, tightening his control until his muzzle was but an expressionless mask. When Ian passed by he gave Lucas a cheeky grin before sitting down in the seat behind him. Lucas didn't return the smile and started to focus on the teacher.

Ian just sighed as he sat down. First day in school and he already got into an accident. Greg was right... he really should start taking in his surroundings. He quickly went back and started to look at the cute fox boy who ran into him. Lucas... he was a strange one he was. One moment he seemed timid and embarrassed and the next he was cold and indifferent. He kinda felt hurt when he didn't return his smile... heck he didn't even look up at him... Why did he care if this Kit was giving him the cold shoulder? Sure he was kinda cute, but there were plenty of cute kids around... he just wanted this one to like him. Letting his thoughts wander until he heard the bell ring, he jumped as its harsh sound penetrated them.

Quick as a flash the little fox gathered up his books and quickly ran out the room before Ian could even get out of his seat. "Well he seems friendly," he heard Greg's dry voice coming from behind him.

He just shrugged and walked out the door seeing Lucas already halfway down the hall. He would've been happy to continue looking at the kit's cute ass before he was interrupted.

"What'cha looking at?" A male voiced called causing Ian to jump.

"Dammit Rich! That isn't cool!" he said turning around to see a younger dark furred wolf. He was a bit shorter than Ian and he was fifteen.

"No really what were you looking at?" he asked again in a curious voice. Then he glanced towards Lucas' retreating form, "Oh, I see. You were looking at the kit?" Ian felt himself blush and became quite grateful for his dark fur, "What's he like?" Richie persisted.

"He's uh... I don't know what to say really... couldn't get much out of him. He seemed pretty quiet," Ian managed, not really knowing what to say about the fox boy.

"Alright... so... do you like him?" Richard asked calmly and Ian felt his blush deepen enough to show against his dark fur. 'Did he like him?' The boy was kinda cold towards him, but he seemed like that to everybody.

"I don't know..." he muttered checking his watch, "We should really head to class... don't want to be late do we?" He suggested as he and Greg began heading in the same direction Lucas had gone a few minutes previously.

They managed to find the classroom quick enough. French was the first class of the day and he noticed Lucas was sitting in the corner well away from everybody else. Curious, Ian just sat down next to him before turning around and smiling. "Hey," he said making the other kid jump.

He had been absorbed in his textbook. "Hello," he finally managed once he got himself under control. True to form his voice was empty and cool.

"So... looks like we have a few classes together aye?" he said in a cheerful tone.

Lucas just gave him an impassive look before he went back to his textbook. "Looks like it..." he replied flatly.

This annoyed Ian a bit. Did this kid ever show any kind of emotion...Any at all? He seemed so... cold. "How come you're sitting here all by yourself? Don't you get lonely?" he asked as the boy who just shrugged.

"I like being alone... it gives me peace."

"You can't be alone all the time you'd go crazy you know..." Ian told him in a cheerful tone enjoying the banter. Lucas seemed to enjoy it somewhat as well as Ian could've sworn a small smile crossed his face.

"You sound just like my sister..." he stated in a somewhat bemused manner. 'Aha! So he isn't a robot!' Ian thought to himself. "But I've always been a loner...people leave me alone I leave them alone simple." He said and quick as it came Lucas went right back to his book with that indifferent look on his face. 'Well I know he isn't a robot but man...'

He just sighed and started to focus on the teacher... "So you have a sister?" he eventually asked out of curiosity.

Lucas just nodded. "Her name is Erin...she's in Grade 10."

"I have a brother in the 10th grade as well Richard... wonder if they have classes together?"

Lucas just shrugged not looking up from the book.

"Hey want to sit with me at Lunch or something? Or I could sit with you?" he persisted.

Lucas just looked at him oddly before speaking. "Sure, do want you want... I'm not going to stop you..."

Ian sighed that was probably going to be the best he was going to get out of the Kit. He then looked towards Greg who was just watching the whole spectacle as if he was trying not to laugh and Ian just gave him the finger.

After looking at Lucas for a few more minutes he decided it would be best to pay attention to the teacher...

The day passed by rather quickly for Lucas, and soon enough it was nearing lunchtime. After he grabbed his packed lunch from his locker he saw a familiar face walking by. "Hello Allison," he said to the coyote girl as she passed.

"Hello Mason," she replied in a formal manner. She was one of Erin's classmates, but had only moved into town a year or two ago. He didn't know much about her but nobody really seemed to as she rarely talked to anybody. "How was your weekend?" she asked.

"Same as always I guess... my mom just left for Cairo this morning and my dad is still in Bangkok but other than that I'm fine. Thanks for asking..." he replied, "Um... so how was yours?"

"It was fine... I had a pleasant weekend with my parents," she returned, "But I am quite hungry and I haven't packed a lunch so I will see you again later... Erin wanted me to ask you if you wanted to sit with her and her friends today."

"I'll be good..." He said before he started to walk off. "Nice talking to you Allison... bye," he said before running off to the lunchroom.

He was briefly thankful he had packed his and Erin's lunches as the line seemed to go on forever. Eventually he found himself at his usual table well away from the rest of the school and sat down. He saw Erin sitting towards the centre surrounded by her friends looking at him with a frown and he sighed. As much as he loved his baby sister he just didn't feel comfortable sitting with all those people. He had just gotten his sandwich out and was about to take a bite before he was interrupted by a loud voice.

"Hey! So can I sit here?"

He looked up and saw Ian's grinning face smiling at him and he just sighed. "I said I wasn't going to stop you so go ahead," he answered and the taller boy sat down next to him.

"Wow you really must not like people if you are sitting so far away from everybody..." Ian said as he started digging into his pizza.

Lucas barely noticed the tiger... Greg he thought his name was sit down next to Ian.

"Not everybody likes being the centre of attention all the time... call me antisocial if you want, I just don't like people. And they don't like me..." he said in a slightly bitter tone.

"I like you," Ian said in a cheerful tone.

"We just met... we'll see how long it lasts," Lucas muttered looking down at his sandwich. He was surprised when he felt Ian's paw on his shoulder.

"Hey man cheer up. You seem like a cool guy. Maybe if you opened up some you would have more friends. Let me be your friend come on!"

Lucas just gave him an odd look trying to figure out if Ian had some kind of twisted agenda but then he sighed, "Sure... I guess we can be friends... um... thanks. Nobody has ever really tried to be friends with me..."

"Well those people have no idea what their missing then." Ian said and his grin seemed so contagious so Lucas let a small smile out himself. "Hey look he can smile! You owe me twenty pounds Greg!" he said looking towards the tiger who had been silent the entire time.

"Looks like I do... you should smile more Lucas it's more inviting then your usual scowl," Greg said in a pleasant tone.

This caused Lucas to blush somewhat. "Really both of you... thanks... it's nice to have friends," he said as he took another bite out of his sandwich, some faint hope lightening his mood.
