#1 of Bad Omen

The window pain shook violently in its frame as a very strong wind picked up again. Vincent sat alone in his small house. Vincent, a werewolf with limited control over his full were side.

"The weather is getting worse and worse," he said to himself, "A very bad omen indeed." At that moment the door flew open and in stepped his cocky half-brother, Dante. He slammed the door behind him, kicking up a fallen chair and plopping himself down, propping his large boots up onto the table. Vincent stood from his chair, annoyed by his brother's carelessness.

"It's pretty damn bad out there," Dante said with a smirk. Vincent said nothing in response. Dante frowned. He was a tall white haired demon, whom upon first glance looked almost human.

"Any word from Abel yet?" Vincent asked suddenly.

"I dunno," Dante replied.

All of a sudden everything flashed white for half a minute and there was a loud crash outside.

"What the hell was that?!" Dante shouted.

"Probably just some..." But Vincent trailed off as he looked outside. The wind had immediately calmed itself and flames roared and danced. Out from the flames stepped an unknown figure. Abel burst through the door, attempting to catch his breath.

"It's my brother," he panted. His eyes were, surprisingly filled with tears. Vincent grabbed his gun and Dante grabbed his sword, as they headed outside. Abel drew his two large swords, his wings at full wingspan. Kain began to approach more briskly now.

All of a sudden, an arrow landed a blow to Kain's spine. Beyond the flames, the three heroes could slightly make out a figure. Kain growled with rage as he reached back and plucked the arrow from his back and crushed it in his hand. He turned to face the unknown archer, leaving himself wide open. It was Sal. Sal ran quickly to the side, looking for a way around the flames. Kain followed in anger. Dante rushed forward, only to be knocked back by one swipe of Kain's arm. Vincent aimed and fired upon the demon's back. The golden bullets ricochet from the great beasts spine, doing absolutely no damage. Abel stored his two swords and pulled out his pride and joy. The ultimate sword, banisher of evil, bringer of light; Abel held in his hands the legendary sword, Ultima. It shined despite the darkness that surrounded it. He felt immobilized, somehow unable to attack, no matter how much he wanted to. He could just stand there as Kain closed in on Sal. Sal Ran as swiftly as he could, away from Kain. He leapt over short enough flames and sped past the ones about to spread. Whenever he had a chance he would turn and fire an arrow at Kain, attempting to slow him down. Sal went through his quiver, first the iron arrows, then the mithril, and the lightning arrows and the ice ones. Kain was much too close for Sal's comfort now. In a desperate attempt to save himself, he reached into his quiver and pulled out the final arrow, a white shining arrow. He was close enough that his bow wouldn't be of much use so he took the arrow in hand and plunged it into Kain's right eye, making him roar with anger and pain. Kain suddenly grabbed Sal with both of his huge hands and simply crushed his body. Sal's expression was extreme pain but he could not express it through audible words. He looked absolutely horrified, his eyes wide and his mouth gaping but no sound escaped. Abel, regaining the ability to move, charged forward into Kain, slicing diagonally across his back. Kain dropped Sal and disappeared into a cloud of darkness. Abel dropped his sword on the ground, falling on his knees in front of his slain friend. Sal said nothing... Vincent and Dante sent for a healer and Abel stayed with Sal. Sal's Body was clean, except for the small amount of blood beginning to drip from his mouth. Sal shifted his gaze from the dark sky to Abel and started to tear up as if he were trying desperately to apologize.

"Hang in their Sal..." Abel said, beginning to cry.

The closest healer was Sage. He was a strange young angel feline with no wings, his mother being an angel and his father being a cat. Despite him being only half angel, he was an extraordinary healer. He lived with his sister, Taia, in a house just outside of the suburbs.

Taia opened the door to two strangers, one a tall grey wolf and the other, an equally tall white haired half demon.

"Hello. What is it you're after?" she asked in a half smirk and she put her hands on her hips.

"We need a healer. Fast." Vincent said urgently.

"Hey Sage!" she shouted into the house, "We got two guys here that say they need a healer!"

A timid looking light-grey furred feline appeared in the doorway behind the girl. He was, apparently taller than her but he was hunched over fidgeting his fingers.

"Ah the great Sage!" said Vincent, "We have come seeking your assistance in the field of healing."

Sage poked his head out the door, glancing around quickly. "Where's the patient?" he asked in almost a whisper.

"We couldn't bring him here. He is waaaaay too beat up" said Dante.

"Will you please come with us?" Vincent asked.

"S-s-sure..." Sage said.
