- * * Chris stepped off of the number 17 bus and crossed the semi-busy road over to the college he attended. It was wednesday so he only had to spend two hours in college, today was going to be a good day. Pushing open the double doors in a typically over-dramatic fashion he announced his presence to the entrance hall. Well, in his head he did, and that was enough for him. Chris didn't have to be in his drama class untill 2pm, so getting in at 9am might have seemed pretty stupid. But Chris had a weakness... and it was a childrens card game. Back in his secondary school Chris barely talked about his obsession with the Yu-Gi-Oh card game, because if it wasn't football, or some type of sporting activity it was officially not worth talking about. And people who took an interest in things not worth talking about were nobodies, and nobodies were nobody important so they got beat up. Because in secondary school if you beat someone untill they are practically unconcious the worst you get is a warning, maybe a two day suspension. But of course once Chris and the rest of his class mates had left school and had thier 2 or 3 month break between the end of school and the start of college, everyone had been through the amazing transformation from whiney, ennoying school children whose greatest concern usually ran along the lines of "OMG Kenny just asked me out! I am gonna die from embarassment" to the slightly older, but infinitly wiser college students who suddenly had a wider perspective of life and had higher and more sensible priorities in life. But Chris like all 17 year olds was still a kid at heart. Since the amazing transformation into college students everyone was more open about themselves and idea's weren't just dismissed, some people you thought you knew became completely different. Some were willing to be seen with you, some even really wanted to be your friends, someone might have revealed a 5 year long secret crush on you. The usual comings out of realising who people are yadda yadda yadda, blah blah blah. After this Chris had discovered that there were actually a fair few people who actually shared his obsession, albiet all to different degrees from each other. Some were die hard fans and others were just newbies with starter decks. But that didn't stop Chris from spending as much time as possible with the 10 or 12 people who were in his now almost 2 year old circle of close friends. Chris opened the door to the room where his "gang" of friends were allowed to hang out when they wanted to indulge in thier games, and sure enough 5 of his compadre's were gathered around 2 more in what appeared to be an intense game. Chris crept over to the table and with all the skill and silence of a ninja he squeezed himself in between two of his friends. After a few minutes of watching he turned his head and whispered to his friend Benny. "Hey, who's winning?" Benny, not realising how close his friend was turned his head and immeadiatly pressed his muzzle against Chris's cheek. This broke the tension of the duel and almost everyone laughed at the accidental display of affection. Benny blushed an uncharacteristic shade of red, before wiping the end of his muzzle on the back of his paw. "James is, he's got Sarah down to 100 life points and about 3 cards." Chris looked back to the game with everyone else. James was indeed winning and had a few powerful monsters summoned, but Sarah had a ridiculously powerful line of defense up. It was looking close untill... James drew a card from his deck, but didn't even look at it. Instead he simply placed his hand upon a face down card and said, "I activate Cemetery Bomb." An evil grin spread across his face as he flipped the card face up. Sarah merely blinked in disbelief. James continued, "And as we all know Cemetery Bomb does 100 points of direct damage for every card in your graveyard." James supressed a chuckle as everone looked at Sarahs graveyard, which comprised what could only be called most of her deck. It was over-kill in a major way. "Fine... You win." Sarah conceded defeat, but she was nonetheless gracious about it, she looked up cheerfully at the rest of the group, "Ok who's next?" she asked. "I'll have a go." Chris said. Everyone stared at him in disbelief. After about ten seconds Benny broke the silence. "You have a deck?" he asked. Again everyone laughed, Chris was somewhat famous for hardly ever playing the game, he enjoyed watching the others too much. "Come on lets have a game." Chris insisted, James leapt out of his chair, eagerly willing to donate his seat for what was such a special and rare occurance. "Um... ok." Sarah was obviously as taken aback as everyone else by this. "Benny, it's your turn." She too got up, offering her seat to Benny. Benny sat down and drew out his deck, beginning to shuffle it. Immeadiatly 6 other hands, paws, or claws dove into thier pockets and pulled out thier own decks, each offering them to Chris. "Here, use mine, I think you can get some use out of it." James said, urging his forward. "I made it so that it's powerful but easy to use." Others made simmilar offers, but then Chris did something as equally amazing to his announcement that he actually wanted to play the game, he reached into his surprisingly baggy pants and pulled out his own deck. Almost everyones jaws may as well have hit the floor and Benny stopped shuffling his deck. Chris smiled, for him this was almost as entertaining as television. Chris was the kind who liked to stun people, and he was the king of gay chicken, so it was easy for him to enjoy himself. Chris began shuffling his deck and when he was done he slid it over to Benny, who slid his over to Chris. He began to shuffle Benny's deck, Chris knew from 2 years of watching that Benny had quite a good deck, and that he was a good duelist. He tried to recall Benny's strategies as he shuffled his deck, but Benny was regarding Chris's deck with a mixture of awe and curiosity. He picked out one card at random, and examined it before slipping it back into the deck. "Dragon type, eh?" he laughed gently. "Big surprise." By the way, Chris was an antro Dragon, about 5 foot 6, and somewhere around 57kg. His scales were a dazzling bright white, and he had what "some" of his closer girl friends called "the most gorgeous blue eyes" but thats what everyone who had looked him in the eye thought, even if they didn't say it. He wasn't too fat, and had a completely flat chest and smooth stomach, but not flabby, which contrasted well with his well toned and muscular arms. He wore loose, baggy black trousers, and a tight black shirt, which only served to highlight and accentuate the whiteness of his scales. He also had an impressive wing span, but he hardly ever had a chance to show it off. Chris and Benny eventually gave thier decks back to each other and prepared for the duel. Chris took out of his pocket 2 more cards, and placed them in the fusion deck of his side of the playing field, everyone bent over to look at the top card. "The Flame Swordsman?" James remarked. "Not bad, not great but not bad." The corner of Chris's mouth twitched, the smallest betrayal of the smile he concealed so well. The Swordsman's only purpose was to cover up the 2nd card, he didn't even have the monsters required to summon it. Chris won the rock, paper, sisscors game and got to go first, everyone stood between the two duelists hands, it was more fun not to be able to see what any duelist had in thier hands. Chris drew his sixth card and turned his hand over, the only sign of his excitement was the slight widening of his "gorgeous" blue eyes. He couldn't believe the luck he had. "Ok." Chris took a deep breath and slapped down a card onto the field. "I play polymerisation." He placed the card into the graveyard pile, and placed 3 cards from his hand on top of it. Chris looked up before he took his hand away, Benny and everyone else was watching his hand, and as he moved it away Chris smiled as he saw the look of fear in Benny's eyes, it was admittedly only a childrens card game. But to them it was still somthing to win and lose. And Benny had every right to be scared, because everyone let out the tiniest gasp as Chris's claw pulled back to reveal the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. The Dragon in question could only be used in one fusion summon. "And I summon the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon." Chris slid the Flame Swordsman off of his prized card and placed it face up in attack position in his empty monster card space. He looked up to see Benny's reaction to the 3 headed 4500 Attack point Dragon now staring him in the face. It was one somewhere between shock and disbelief. But Chris had another trick up his sleeve. "And I sacrifice the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon..." Chris had barely said the words when everyone looked at him, to them he had a monster that was capable of wiping out half of Benny's life points, and he was sacrificing it. Chris moved the card to his graveyard. "To special summon the Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon" Chris moved the card from his hand to the monster zone that his 3 headed death machine had previously occupied. Benny was sat in a stunned silence, as opposed to everyone else who was standing. Chris gave the general air of insecurity that is usually followed by the words "And I end my turn" But instead he said... "And it gets worse." Benny looked up at him with a blank expression, clearly asking himself how this could get worse. "I play Monster Reborn to bring back my Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon." Benny and the rest of the gang simply stared open mouthed at the spell card, as Chris performed the move he just described. "And I end my turn." Benny drew another card, his hand must not have been good because the Grey Furred Wolf placed down a single monster and ended his turn. Chris drew his next card and smiled evily. "Next I play Raigeki" he said, Chris placed down the card that bore the text "Destroy all monsters on your opponent's side of the field." And Benny sadly placed his only line of defense into his graveyard. Chris decided that this would be a good time to go into the details of his Shining-Dragon. "And because my Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon gains 300 attack points for every Dragon type monster in my graveyard," he paused to look at his 3 Blue-Eyes White Dragons, who continued to serve him even after thier regretful sacrifice. "... that raises it's attack to 3900." he finished. "So I enter my battle phase and attack you with both of my Dragons for 8400 points of direct damage to your 8000 life points." he finished. Benny simply stared down at the cards in his paw before placing them down on the field. But a small smile broke out on his face. "That has got to be the quickest duel in history." He simply laughed at the quickness of his defeat. Everyone laughed out loud and Chris made a polite cough to call them all to order after shaking Benny's hand in the manner of graceful duelists. "So" he smiled cheerfully. "Who's next?"
