My Kitty Chapter 19
#4 of My Kitty 16-
I peeked in and saw my kitten just finishing his shower. He shut off the water and stepped out, the water shined brightly on his fur. He grabbed a towel and walked slowly to the door. I ran to his bed and sat like I had been sitting there the entire time. It took him 2 minutes until he walked out. He was completely dry and walked to his closet. He looked back, winking at me and walked in, closing the door behind him. I waited patiently, looking around the room. He finally came out of the closet wearing nothing but boxers. "Why do you insist on wearing those?" I asked, giving a little smirk. "What do you mean, pup?" He pushed me on my back. "I'm just gonna get them off anyway." I giggled, but he just got into bed. I was confused, but got in behind him. He rolled over so he was facing me and smiled. "Tomorrow we go back to school." He said. I hated the idea. New teachers, new subjects, and new headaches. "I know you will do well, you did last year." I knew he was trying to cheer me up, but it wasn't working. I rolled over so my back was facing him. "Ok, I can take a hint." He put his arm around me and pulled me close. I tried to get away from him, but he held me tight. I just melted into his hold, hoping the morning wouldn't soon come. I felt drowsy, so I bit my tongue hard. I yelped quietly, hoping Trevor didn't hear. I put my paw over his, feeling his every breath. He was quietly purring, it felt like a lullaby. It soon worked, and I fell fast asleep.
"Wake up sleepy little pup." I felt a light rub on my head. I shut my eyes tighter, knowing what would happen today. "Wake up or I will make you wake up." I heard footsteps walking away, but soon coming back. "If you don't wake up, I will dump this water on you." I perked up immediately, opening my eyes. Trevor was standing beside the bed holding a glass of water. "Good, you're awake, I thought I would have to wet my puppy." I smiled, sitting up on the bed. "Of course, that could be a good thing, depends on how you see it." He said, showing his teeth when he smiled. I pushed him against a wall and got close to him. I pressed my nose against his and smiled. "Get ready for school, cat." I pushed myself away from him, grabbing clean clothes and walking out of the room. I put on the clothes, making sure he could not see, and walked to the kitchen. Maxx was waiting by the door, drinking coffee. "Good morning, little pup." He said smiling, not even looking up from his coffee. He looked very tired, like he barely even slept. "Hey." I spoke quickly, walking back out of the room. I stopped and turned back. "Maxx, where's my brother?" I had to ask, I hadn't seen him for a while. He looked around the room for a bit. "Actually, I don't know, but he will probably show up at school." We waited for Trevor to get ready, glancing at eachother every few minutes. He finally walked to me, holding a neatly wrapped gift. "Here ya go, pup." He said, giving me the present. "What's it for?" I looked it over. "Just open it." He was blushing as I wripped it open. I looked inside and there was a black collar with silver spikes on it. I picked it up and it had a little tag on it. "Trev's Chew Toy?" I read the writing on the tag, and gave him an evil look. He smiled and giggled. "Stupid cats." I said, throwing it back in the box. "Put it on." He giggled, still smiling. "No, I hate collars." I looked at the box and threw it on the table. "Please, for me?" He picked it up out of the box, giving me a cute, begging face. It was hard to resist his sweet face. "Fine." I put it around my neck, it fit perfectly. "Happy?" I felt stupid with the collar on me. "Yes, let's go to school." He slowly walked to the door, looking back at me. "I'm not wearing this thing all day." I struggled to get it off, but it wouldn't budge. "You need this." He held up a small key and smiled. "Give it to me." I grabbed for the key, but he put it in his pocket. "At the end of the day." He smiled, walking out the door. "I hate him." I looked back at Maxx, who was finished with his coffee, walking to me. He rubbed my head and continued out the door. "Don't worry, maybe no one will notice." He said, walking out the door. I ran after them, still trying to get the collar off. I sighed when I saw Zack with Maxx. They were talking and Trevor was waiting in the back of Zack's truck. "Hurry up, Mike, you don't want to miss school." Trevor said, smiling at me. He giggled and I got in the truck, sitting on the opposite side of him. He tried to grab my paw, but I slapped his hand. "No paw for you!" I pouted, looking away from him. Maxx and Zack got in the truck and we drove off. It was a quick drive to our school was quick. I had dreaded every second of the day. Everyone would notice the collar and ask about it, and I wasn't looking forward to it. The only good thing that would come out of this would be new students in the school.
We arrived at school and it was unusually crowded. We got out and went to the front office to get our schedules. "YES!" I half yelled. I had 2 classes in the morning and the rest of the day for break. I smiled and Trevor came up beside me. He showed me his schedule and he had the same classes and same break. "Looks like we are together the entire day." He smiled at me. I walked away from him to my first class. I arrived at the class and walked in. It was almost empty, only 5 students so far, soon to be two more. I walked in and took a seat near the middle. I always hated sitting at the front of the class. The teachers always calls only people closest to them. Soon after, Trevor walked in, taking a seat right behind me. He leaned forward and whispered into my ear. "Anyone ask about the collar yet?" He giggled and sat back. The teacher walked to the door and was about to close it when Scott walked in. "Sorry i'm late." He rushed and took the seat right beside me. "Hey, Mike." He smiled at me. "Hey." I said, returning the smile. He stared at my neck, and was about to speak when the teacher interuppted him. "Good morning students, today we are going to see how far you are in the lesson." The teacher was a tall, male rottweiler. I knew him from last year, his name was Dread. I couldn't imagine who would name their son that, but who was I to blame them? There were rumors about him all around school that he killed a dolphin in New York for bumping into him, but I never believed them. He passed out papers with 10 questions on them. "Finish this then you're free for the rest of the period." He laughed and sat at his desk, opening a book about halfway through. I looked down at the paper and read each question. It was math, pretty easy, but not for most people. I finished in in minutes and walked out of the room, handing my paper to him. He looked surprised that I finished that fast, but he took the paper. I walked to the front office and spoke with a large hog. His name was Mr. Raider, the principle of our school. "Hey, Mr. Raider." He smiled when he saw me. "Mike, glad to see you! What are you wearing?" He pointed to the collar on my neck. I covered the tag quickly. "Nothing, can I get my laptop for this year?" "Certainly." He left for a moment and came back with a laptop. "Here you go, take care of it, you're stuck with it for the rest of the year." He smiled as I walked away. "Thanks, Mr. Raider." I walked to the breakroom, which was almost empty apart from a few students. I sat down at a table and opened the laptop. It was brand new. I played with all the features on it for an hour, trying to pass the time till my next class. Trevor finally walked in with Scott, 20 minutes before our next class. "Mike!" Scott ran to sit beside me, and Trevor sat on the opposite side. "I wanted to ask you, what is with that collar!?"
