Just something I dida while ago as a school project in creative writing.

I had to use small things as far as symbols and names. I find that a little difficult in some aspects but rather happy about this one

Setting: River Symbols: Moon, Tattoo

Names: Dante, Tristan Theme: Relationships

Time Period: today Conflicts: love

Dante stripped off his shirt, exposing his skin to the chill of the air. He tossed it carelessly to the side, it joining the other articles of his outfit. His pale skin almost reflected the pale moon above. He dived into the river the water freezing his body. He surfaced; his hair flattened against his head. He took his lengthy hair and pushed it back out of his face. He looked across the still water. The bright moon reflected on its mirror surface. He looked up at the moon, turning his body so he floated on his back. He floated with the silent flow of the river, thinking back about how many times he looked up at the moon. He did it rarely, but always with the one who made him the happiest. Sighing he turned around in the water, breaking the mirror with a splash. He dove under the crystal water, leaving now nothing but a small ripple. The moon brightened the water, arrows of light trialed to the riverbed. Across his left shoulder, one of the shafts fell on a bright tattoo. It shined more brightly than the rest of his body. A fox's tail intertwined with another darker tail. The body of a wolf lay close to the fox; their braided tails wrapped around their bodies.

Dante again came through the still water, inhaling the freezing air. He gasped; the air gave him little to breath. Dante crawled out of the water; shivers and goosebumps covered his body. He pulled on his stiff clothes, the cold barely let off him. He rubbed his arms trying to put the warmth back into his body. He looked down to the scattered lights of the town. Slowly he walked with the river down to his town. Creaking of branches made his head turn to the sky; again, he stared at the full moon. Never looking where he was going he continued towards town. He Lowered his head. A dark figure stood in front of him, but to close for him to stop before falling back. He grunted as he hit the ground.

Rubbing his head, he looked up. Against the moon stood a large wolfish creature stood. Its silver eyes shine brightly looking straight at Dente. The creature bent down, sniffing at the stunned human. Dante closed his eyes tightly. The beast's hot breath warmed his skin. The breathing and sniffing stopped. Dante opened an eye slowly. The beast remained close to him. A growling started growing deep in the monster's chest. To Dante it sounded almost a murr. He sighed heavily. Dante reached up, petting the top of the muzzle.

"Hey Tristan," a smile came across his face. The large beast gave what a smile a wolf could. "Have enough wolfsbane?" he asked rhetorically, grunting and standing. He started along the trail back to the city. "I forgot it was that time." Dante chuckled. Dante took a different road that led away from town again. "I'll stay out here with you tonight." He whispered and looked to where Tristan was but found nothing. He continued to walk towards where he and Tristan stay during Tristan's transformations. H sat inside the small cabin, waiting for Tristan. He fell asleep before the wolf came into the wooden structure. Dante faintly felt the weight of the enormous wolf on the bed. Tristan lay down, easily surrounding Dante's smaller, human form. The werewolf lay down, growling kindly and warming, a comforting sound to Dante. Together they slept deeply and peacefully.
