#3 of What is Love?

Daniel knows he will die one way or another. He simply has to choose how he wants to die. Unfortunately, he chooses the embarrassing idiotic way to die.

I said I would post this yesterday, but like always, I failed at doing that. So here's part 3 of this series. ~~ The knocks on his door echoed more than usual to Daniel. He flinched at the agonizing sound. This was one difference Daniel really didn't want to go through. "Are you awake, Daniel?" a way too familiar voice called. "Today's the last day of school!" his father yelled. Daniel was frightened. Would his father know that he was different if he replied? What if his voice was different? He knew that he had to do something. One way or another, Daniel thought, he will figure out I am now a fur. I just have to choose how I want to die. "DANIEL!" an impatient voice growled. "Mmmm!" was all Daniel dared to say. "Okay! Now get in the shower, you are going to be late!" his father said while walking away. Daniel was speechless. He still had a heartbeat, although it was going twenty times faster than the lethal speed. He felt it just as much as he heard it. His body was still in one piece, although it was permanently altered. Figuring that this would not end up well one way or another, Daniel had to make an escape route. He obviously needed to go to school to officially pass the year, and he would die there somehow if he didn't die at home. "DANIEL! GET UP NOW!" an aggravated voice yelled. "If you don't, I'll come get you." Feeling a burst of braveness, Daniel yelled back. "OKAY! I get it! I am coming!" Jumping out of his bed, Daniel began to stretch. He had the perfect plan in his mind. He simply had to make use of it and give it its purpose. He dug though his pile of clothes to find something formal while also trying to fix his fur that was pointing everywhere. He put on a nice red plaid shirt with kaki shorts and a belt. He folded a red tie up and put it in his pocket just in case he needed it later. The next thing he did was his life goal. Seeing as Daniel was a furry fan anyways, he had bought a beautiful double leather collar with a personalized name tag. It gleamed with light, as did he. This was his life dream and he, out of all people, got to live his dream, even if it was just for a day. He observed the collar one last time before he put it on to stay. The collar was a two strap leather collar with faux fur lining. The first layer of leather was a luscious gray that glowed perfectly with his fur. The leather layer below the gray leather was pure white to help make the gray even bolder and more beautiful. On the inside, there was the black faux fur lining. The idea seemed nice at the time, but now it may show some issues here and there. With these three simple colors mixed, it made a beautiful piece of work. This collar also included a black centered ring to match the color scheme.

Daniel also had a special name tag made just for his wolf. When he wanted to be just like Chow in any way possible, he was not kidding. This nametag was an ocean-blue colored bone shaped nametag that had the name "Chow" neatly engraved in it. He personally did the engraving with precise detail. It complimented everything perfectly. With this nametag on the collar and on his neck, he no longer had to be Daniel, he could be Chow. The name fit better considering he was now a wolf. NO wolf was named Daniel. A unique wolf was named Chow if he was lucky enough. Daniel stood there, admiring the beauty. He thought about the leash that came with it that matched the same color scheme and leather pattern. It didn't have the faux fur on it, though. He never thought he'd need it for anything. Now he had an ample amount of reasons to want it. He slowly latched the collar around his furred neck. He was in ecstasy the whole time. Hearing the latch click made him feel like he now had a place in his dull life. He now had a reason to cause chaos and he loved it. Thinking of how awesome he had to have looked with the collar on, he had to see himself. Finding the closest thing to resemble a mirror in the mess of his room, he looked at himself, amazed at how pretty he looked. "Daniel! You've missed your shower. Get you lazy butt out here and get your food. You have less than fifteen minutes until you have to go to your grandparent's house and get your clothes on!" Daniel's father said while banging on the door. "And UNLOCK THE FRICKING DOOR!!! How many times have I told you not to lock it?" "As many times as I've closed that door, dad," Daniel replied jokingly. It failed. He heard nothing but the crickets downstairs chirping their magical song of rest. Perfect timing! Daniel thought, amused. Now came the time Daniel knew he would regret. He had to run away to school secretly to make sure that nobody in his family had the chance to see him. Daniel ran to his bed. His bed was against the wall in the corner of the room and the corner of the house. His bed was directly below a window. The window was the perfect height from the floor to jump out of and still be able to close the window. Daniel sat down on his bed and quickly found a piece of paper and a pencil. He hated pens. He started scribbling down a message for his family when they suddenly couldn't find him in his room so they wouldn't be as worried about him. "Dad, _ I'm walking to school today. I know I never have and I probably left a little early, but I have reasons to get to school early today. I will see you later._ _ As for my uniform, I just won't wear one today. It's the last day. They can't kill me. With that said, I am wearing something dressy enough for the occasion. Hopefully this'll work out better than I hope._ _ As for food, I'll just stop by Ingles and get a snack. They have to have something breakfast-like that I'll eat. If not, I'll be fine not eating breakfast for one day in my life._ _ I'll walk back home if I can. If not, don't worry about coming to get me; it'll be too late._ _ Love you!_ _ ~Daniel_ P.S. I hope you didn't break my door down to get in here."

Finishing the letter, Daniel hurriedly grabbed a hoodie with the pull string in the hood and tugged it onto himself while trying not to destroy all of his hard work of cleaning up his fur to some degree. He tugged on some sweatpants to try and hide his furry legs even though it was uncomfortably hot in them. He tried his best to put socks on. They fit, but it didn't feel natural to him and it annoyed him to death. He knew shoes were probably out of the option for today. He didn't need his backpack today since it was the last day. So seeing that he had everything he needed for the day, he nervously turned around on his bed to face the window. Daniel unlocked the glass panels from one another. Trying to do the deed secretly, he slowly slid the swearing windows open, failing at keeping them noiseless. Thankfully, nobody heard it and knocked on his door. He carefully pushed out the screen mesh protecting his room of nasty creatures. With that popped out, he had perfect clearance to jump out of his window. After he half jumped half fell out of his windowsill, he slowly started his short but slow journey of a mile walk. ~~ Sorry this is so late. But with that said, (on the word processor) it's three pages longer than what I normally write. I am happy about that. I hope that makes up for the lateness. This is my favorite part so far. The action's coming in. Hopefully this will be the beginning of a awesome journey to come. :D Tell me whatchya think!
