#3 of Conceptions

A/N: I apologize for the long time between posts. For me, inspiration is such a fickle thing and normally only occurs between the hours of midnight and three in the morning. Also, Preconceptions as it was has now taken the form of "interludes" in this story. Enjoy. And please review with whatever the hell you feel like saying (try to keep it relevant, I don't really want to see any comments that only say 'banana' XD). :)

"Sir. It's Tuesday. I let you skip yesterday, but if you want to continue going to that farce of a school, you need to wake up."

I mumbled something. I'm not even sure what it was.

I heard McRoy huff. The thick carpet silenced his steps, but I knew that he was making his way to my bed. Any moment now, my wonderfully warm blankets would be ripped off me.

And there they go. I shivered as the cool air caressed my bare fur.

"Dammit, McRoy! Why is it always so cold in here?"

"Well, sir, if you would actually wear clothes to bed, it might help." There was no surprise at my nudity in his voice. He practically raised me; he knew all my habits, probably better than I do.

"Bah, it's more comfortable. Not that you'd know with that stick up your ass."

McRoy said nothing. This was usual. He rarely answered my question, and when he did, we rarely got past my response.

Oh well, he's the head housekeeper, not a friend. I sat up on my bed and waved my hands at him. "Shoo. I'm up now. I'll be down for breakfast in ten." He gave a slight nod of his head and left.

I swung my legs off my bed and stood. A long, luxurious stretch followed by scratching my sheath. Today feels like a good day.

I walked into my large bathroom and came out brushed and groomed. A quick trip to my closet had me clothed and ready for breakfast.

I made my way to the ballroom first, to find that the housekeepers had done their job and removed all evidence of the party. Good. If my parents were ever home, I'd hate for them to see their son's debauchery. Not like they'd care.

I walked down the hall and went down stairs to the informal dining room. Breakfast was already served.

"Glad to see we have at least one class together."

Brian's voice shocked me out of my daze. I swiveled as much as my seat would allow. "Hey, Brian." I glanced at the pretty-ish bear sitting next to me and kicked her chair. "Move." She glanced up, anger in her eyes, but then she saw me. She left without a word. Brian threw his bag on the ground and took her seat.

"Didn't see you yesterday."

"Wasn't here yesterday. I was," I paused and tried to think of the right word, "recovering." His grin was as predatory as the quick rake of his gaze down my body. "Speaking of that, how'd the thing with your boyfriend go?"

His hand waved the question away. "Broke up. Apparently, it's 'cheating.' What'd he expect me to do? 'Oh, I'm not going to fuck you, but don't you dare think of fucking anyone else.' Makes no sense."

The teacher was talking, but we ignored her, just as she ignored us. Having enough money to make problems disappear tends to prevent them.

Psychology. To be honest, I don't know why it's in my schedule; I have no interest in the mind.

I walked in the door and was immediately confronted by a lion.

"Well, now. Nice to see you made it today, Captain Chase. You'll be partnered with Mr. Hughes."

"Who?"

His smile seemed sad, almost. "The arctic fox in the corner."

I looked around the room and spotted him.

I couldn't help the crinkle of my nose. His clothes were too small, full of holes, and looked like they hadn't seen more than a quick rinse in years.

I weaved through the mess of desks and bags to the empty seat next to him. I set my bag down and held out my hand. "I'm Blake."

He tapped the desk in an odd rhythm as he stared blankly at my hand, before looking at me. Well, his face was in my direction. His eyes stared off to my right. The tapping stopped. "I'm Zeke." Introductions made, he immediately looked back at his desk and resumed his tapping.

"So," I drew the word out, trying to get him to look at me again. "Do you know why the teach made us get partners?" His eyes remained on his desk as he shook his head.

The teacher started speaking and Zeke's ears flicked. He raised his head, giving the teacher his full attention. I frowned. He was paying attention, so why wasn't he taking any notes?

I opened my mouth to ask him, but I clicked my mouth shut when I realized I probably wouldn't get an answer.

I resigned myself to silence and began tapping my hand against the desk.

Zeke stopped his tapping and snapped his head my way. His eyes would have bored holes into my own if they hadn't slid off to my right. I stopped tapping. He moved his attention back to the teacher. He started his odd rhythm again.

Zeke seemed to fly out of the door when the bell rang. I shrugged and tried to remember what class I had next. Ah, well, I knew the room number and that was all that mattered.

I trudged to the room, entering just in time for the bell to ring. My first thought upon entering was "Hey, Brian saved me a seat." My second was, "Zeke has this class too. Shit, the seat's by him."

I walked again through a mass of desks to sit between Zeke and Brian. I gave a cursory nod to Zeke whose hand tapped in the same rhythm as psych, before turning my full attention to Brian. "You know what class this is?"

Bran snorted. "Why doesn't that surprise me? And Spanish."

"Ugh." Having this in my schedule is as much a mystery as psychology. I was even less interested in other cultures than I was that. Sometimes I think McRoy called the school to give me more difficult classes.

The teacher walked into the room, "Hola, estudiantes. Yo-" and so followed a stream of gibberish.

I turned to Brian. "Do you know anything about the psychology class? The teach made us partner up on the first day."

He snorted. "Why are you taking that? Never-mind. Nothing. Teacher's new this year; old one got fired for something. No idea why he'd make you pair up on the first day."

Some would say a comfortable silence followed, but I have never been comfortable with silence. "You still 'grounded'?"

"Are you still rich? Another two months. It wasn't even the first time we fucked in my room, but the 'rents had to walk in. Only allowed out for supervised study groups. I hate my parents."

"Hmm." I rested my chin on my paw as I thought. "Y'know, McRoy would technically count as 'supervision.' And there are some things I can't study without your help." I flashed a predatory smile.

Brians grin almost made me jump his bones. But then he frowned. "Don't think my parents'll go for it. Besides, couldn't you invite some bitch back to your place? I think you called it 'being an equal opportunity offender.'"

I held up my hands. "Fine, fine. I'll get some head from a bitch later. No way I'm letting some gold-digging whore into my house."

The conversation stalled after that. I couldn't think of anything more to talk about. I impatiently tapped my foot as I waited for the bell to ring or for the fat raccoon teacher to keel over. I idly looked around the room and found myself staring at Zeke.

He was average height for an arctic fox, I guess. Thin as fuck though. His white fur was too thin and did nothing to make him look bigger. Instead, it made him look frail and sick. It was white, shockingly white, considering the state of his clothes.

His clothes were in worse shape than he was. The sleeves on the jacket, god knows why he wore it, were too short and showed flashes of white fur where fabric had worn thin. It looked to be too tight around the shoulders and it barely reached past his waist. His pants were similar, not quite to the ankles, but then, they probably started out too long.

I began making up stories as to why he looked like that. Poor? Hand-me-downs? New goth fashion style? That one had merit. All the clothes were black and created a striking contrast with his fur. Homeless? I laughed at myself for that thought. Only a crazy kid would attend school if he were homeless. Besides, he didn't smell, and homeless people were supposed to smell.

The teacher said something that sounded important so I tuned in for a second. "-a three to five sentence paragraph in Spanish describing who yourself, presented in class and due tomorrow. Vocabulary for this section is on page 5, but feel free to use a dictionary. If you don't have a book, come see me at my desk and I'll sign one out to you. The rest of the period is free time."

I glanced at the clock. Fifteen more minutes. God hates me.

I sighed and got up to grab my book.

When I got back, I glanced at Brian. He was slowly looking over the vocab, mouth moving as he read.

I stuck my book in my bag and glanced at Zeke, expecting to find him diligently working. He wasn't.

He was staring at me, but when my eyes made contact with his, they slid to the right. He quickly turned away to look at his desk.

I smirked. He'd been checking me out! I was sure of it.

I raked my eyes over his form, seriously considering this strange person back to my place for a quick fuck. He was attractive enough as is. Put enough pounds on him so he didn't seem so anorexic, give him a good rub down with some conditioner and find some decent clothes, and there'd have been no hesitation, I'd have fucked him in a heartbeat.

Well, with my fuck buddy out of the picture for two months, and not in the mood to listen to some bitch moan about how good I was while her hands searched for my wallet, I figured turning this thinginto something worth a romp would hold my attention long enough for Brian to finally grow some balls and hold a 'study session' with me.
