A New Kind Of Trust: Chapter 2

Deacon parked his jeep outside the small duplex and hopped out. What was he doing? He shook his head in a meek effort to make some kind of sense out of it, it was just not like him! He was usually the shy otter sitting in the back of the classroom keeping to himself unless needed. The only person he really ever talked to was Kiara, the little black cat who lived next door, and that was even a long shot. He had always said he needed to put himself out there more, but a date after about 10 seconds of knowing someone? Deacon thought about calling it off, but every time he mustered up enough courage to reach for his phone he realized two things. He would not say no to a smile like that, and well... he didn't have his number.

Deacon just sighed to himself, as he wormed his way through his apartment, picking up a few loose scraps of trash and tossing them in the garbage can as he passed by, he should really pick up, what if he ends up bringing Kyoryoku here?

"What am I thinking?" Deacon exclaimed to himself, someone like him could never get a shepherd let alone one as attractive as the handsome one he met just earlier. I got that date though, he reasoned with himself, turning his gaze towards the clock that sat on the wall.

"Eh better get in the shower and headed out" he trotted up the stairs and blew into his bedroom losing his shirt as soon as he entered, sighing as he caught a glimpse of his chocolate brown fur with a more caramel toned patch running from his face down his neck and down his chest as a sort of happy trail. The melody of soft fur broken by a trio of scars from a past scuffle with a gang of foxes. He chuckled at the thought, they never knew what was coming when they cornered him that night. Deacon was wondering what happened when there was a knock at his bedroom door.

"Kiara you know that people would usually knock on the front door when the want to-" Deacon was cut off as a set of clothes came flying directly into his face. Damn cat he thought as he brought them down. Then stopped as he realized that they were his nice clothes. She knew something was up. He looked up at her to find her staring him dead in the eyes with that half coy, half sarcastically flirtatious smile she did oh so well.

"Who told you?" Deacon huffed as he turned toward the bathroom, not caring to shut the bathroom door, this wasn't the first time Kiara had burst into his side of the house, nor the seventeenth. He quickly stripped and turned the shower on and hopped in, breathing a small sigh of relief as he felt the days troubles wash away. Hearing a muffled giggle coming from the cat in the next room, he poked his shampoo covered head out into the bathroom just enough to see her looking back at him. "What's so funny?" he asked tilting his head, before pulling it back into the shower.

"He is my half brother you big otter ditz!" Kiara laughed, pausing as she heard a big thump come from the bathroom as Deek tripped in shock, leaving the black cat to fall into an even bigger fit of giggles and chuckles. Continuing the show, Deacon came stumbling out of the shower mumbling to himself. "What's the hurry?" She asked as he tripped and stumbled attempting to put pants on over his thick legs and tail.

"I have about ten minutes to get to the school to pick him up!" Deacon muttered quickly, finally pulling his skinny, at least they were around his ass, black jeans up, sliding his big, rudder like tail through a hole in the back. The paw holes on the bottom flaring out just enough to cover his heels. Tossing a dark red muscle shirt with a few tribal designs on the back over his barrel chest. "Well? How do I look?" He asked the scantily clad cat perched on the edge of his queen mattress.

"He will love it" she said in a cheery voice " oh, and by the by" she began, spinning herself so she was upside down on his bed "take him for the day, coffee, dinner, then clubbing, you both need it more than anything." she said with a wink. "That and I don't want to hear any otter whines or shepherd growls from this room when you get back, remember my room is the other side of that wall" she said with her trademark smile.

"Sounds fun to me" Deacon confirmed as he was making his way out the door, grabbing his keys before a thought hit him. "Where is he staying by the way?" he asked over his shoulder.

"Next door with me silly!" she said right before breaking into a massive fit of giggles.

Deacon just shook his head, even long after he stepped into his car. Of course Kyoryoku would be staying next door, it couldn't be anywhere else, just because Deeks luck wouldn't allow it.

Deacon parked his black wrangler in the front of the parking lot and sat on the hood waiting for the shepherd as he lit a cigarette and sighed, right about now is when he gets nervous, it never fails. Whenever he gets anything good for him he always fumbles about.

"Hey!" came a familiar voice echoing slightly considering he yelled it across the parking lot. Deacon turned to see Kyoryoku jogging up to him, tail wagging at a thousand miles an hour. He laughed as he saw the dogs brown tuft fluffing in the wind against the white t-shirt he wore. Huffing and puffing, the shepherd came up to him, dropping his backpack unceremoniously on the ground. Kyoryoku's eyes widened a bit with joy as he saw the Mrlboro gold sticking out of Deacon's mouth. "mind if i snag one of those? I've been out for a while and haven't had a chance to stock back up again." He said still panting and shaing with deek one of his smiles, that made him nearly impossible to say no to, not that the otter would either way.

"Yes you can, after we take this and plop it in the trunk" The otter said as he plucked the seemingly weightless backpack and tossed it into the back of his jeep. " Alright then, cigs and lighters are in the glove compartment, now hop in and lets get this date started then shall we?"

Tonight was going to be an interesting night indeed.
