Forenote:

-This story is the eighth in a series, and I would highly recommend reading the first seven parts first. (http://www.sofurry.com/page/298209/user , http://www.sofurry.com/page/299914/user ,

-To prevent any confusion, Inari -is- Victoria (well, her superherione form)

-For the best clarification of looks (a picture is worth a thousand words), I would recommend looking up Victoria's profile before hand, just to see how her appearance is. Just a suggestion. (http://victoria-maiko.sofurry.com/)

-Fun fact: Sakura and Lily are our kids, outside of the story as well. They're the best little thunderkits (thunder-kitsunes) anyone could ask for!

-I think that's about it; enjoy!

"It's amazing at just how much they had to go through," a very muscular, yellow, four-tailed creature said. Another continued for her, "Sakura's right... I mean... I know we'll face challenges, but I can't imagine they'd be half as difficult as what mom went through."

A somewhat white fox of around twenty, who blended with the winter scene around them, her eyes looking at all but the snow covering the fauna, responded, "That naivity might be honorable, but it's not true. We will face challenges, Lily, Sakura, and we will have to confront them. Just like my mom, just like yours. It won't be any easier."

"Something I don't get," Lily said, "Is why, after dealing with that one gang... What's it called?" She shook her head, not being able to recall, "Anyhow... After that, why our mothers stopped what they did. Would you know, Fridgette?"

"Ugh, don't call me that. Call me anything but that... We both know that I love my mother very much, but I still hate having the same name as her. Anyhow, it's because of a few reasons. Your mother loved Misty too much, and wanted to stand by her. She didn't want someone, like Kasukana, to hurt her. And my mother had no choice, with me being born." The half-sister looked at the twins, eyeing them up and down. Her four white tails, nearly five at this point, swayed in the cold wind. "So tell me, why did you call me here?"

"Because it's time," Sakura answered, "To answer our call." Lily nodded, and continued for her, "It is our turn to answer the plights of our community. It is our turn to save anyone who needs it. In time, maybe it'll be even more than our community."

"So it is," the younger Fridgette replied. "So it is."

"I wondered when you three were going to get to this point in your lives," a familiar, yet notably older voice answered. Misty was walking up to them, followed by Victoria and Fridgette. Misty continued, "We just ask that you be careful. You're inexperienced. You have each other, and that's a blessing. But your enemies will not be easy, or merciful. They will go all-out, and so will you." Victoria-- no longer being Inari-- added "Believe me. I know this from experience."

"You've told us this a million times," the younger Fridgette retorted, rolling her eyes. "We'll be okay."

"It's for your own good. And I don't want you going down the same path I did, so here's a word of advice," The older Fridgette told her. "No matter what, the helpless are always the top priority. When the helpless become the good, then you become the top priority. And if you ever make the good become the helpless, then... Then you become the helpless, and you yourself must be saved. Don't ever follow that path."

Victoria pulled out her old Inari costume, and handed it, along with an exact replica, save for being in reverse colors, cream and gold, instead of gold and cream, to Sakura and Lily. Lily took the cream and gold, and Sakura took the gold and cream. Victoria then handed another one, almost identical-- save for it being cobalt and teal, to the younger Fridgette.

Victoria then told the three, "Well, your time has come. You will now answer your true calling. You are bound to helping those who need it. It is time to fulfill your legacy, your destiny."

"You are now the new Inaris."
