Carch sat on the shore of the lake, looking out at the sun setting behind the mountains. He'd gone upriver to try and get away from the city, an environment the blue shark never felt at home in, and had decided on this small lake to camp for the night. He stretched, feeling a few muscles pull in his back; Ouch, hmm.. I really should swim more, I used to go up rivers like this one without even breaking a sweat. he thought, gazing at the sky. Seeing a dot, he raised a hand to shield his eyes from the last shreds of sunlight, before whistling in surprise and muttering to himself.

'huh, a dragon. Hadn't expected to see anyone this far out, least of all one of the dragons.'

Though he knew they loved nature as much as he did, Carch had always experienced them as social creatures, hardly ever to be found from the company of other people or, heaven forbid, in an area as remote as this one.

Somehow, he found himself gazing into the sky; only to blink as the sun glittered of blue scales for a moment, dazzling Carch's eyes. Before he fully knew what he was doing he was underwater, thinking furiously. About himself, his... feelings for both males and females... and especially dragons. somehow finding his thoughts always turned towards a lone, blue dragon gliding into the valley. After a few minutes he cautiously edged his way to the bank, burying his snout in the mud so he could just peek out to watch for the dragon. he nearly gasped as the dragon landed not 10 meters away, finding that the blue scales were a deep ocean blue, much like Carch's own skin, And strained his ears, catching just the hint of a.. sigh? His mind racing to fit 'longing' into the last thought. A longing dragon. here. in this remote valley, with no-one around for miles except Carch.

He kept still, watching the dragon untill he turned and walked of to a cabin down the path. Carch could feel a yearning, an impulse to find out what the dragon was doing in such a beautiful valley all by himself, but suppressed it. Mentally cursing. He'd been alone all his life, and felt both satisfied and sad that there was no-one for him. satisfied that he seemed to manage just fine without that special someone. And sad that his thoughts always betrayed his true feelings on the matter, that he was starting to feel empty and lost. He shook his head, shaking of the mud and getting a grip on himself.

It's a dragon. they're never alone, except by choice. besides... Why'd he be interested in a shark? Dragons flew in air, sharks in water. most dragons could breathe fire, sharks could breathe water, kindof. there's not much.. to.. give. Feeling slightly less happy with himself, Carch slipped back into the lake. He couldn't stop thinking however, and was trying to work up the courage to approach this dragon, ask him about the sigh, his coming here. He was interrupted, however, by a massive splash, out in the centre of the lake.

Bloody hell, must be the dragon. what's he up to?... Maybe his mate arrived... Carch drifted slowly but surely towards the center of the lake. Peering through the cloud of bubbles, caused by the dragon's fall, he could just make out a single shape. Half-expecting it to be two dragons in an embrace, he started to turn away, only to freeze in mid-turn as he could see only a single dragon. not two.

one? still.. alone? and going for a swim?... how... why would a dragon like him.. be alone? I mean.. he's quite attractive...

when the dragon spotted him and turned to leave, Carch's emotions took over, sending him after watchy in a haze which didn't lift untill Carch found himself kissing the dragon to share his breath with him.
