As the lake came into view, the dragon smiled. All year, he was looking forward to getting away from it all, just him and his books. He touched down on the southern bank, unstrapping his bags. He looked up, seeing the mountain he had just passed over rising up above the trees, the snow-capped mountaintop shining in the late afternoon. He looked towards the opposite edge of the lake, seeing the other side about a quarter of a mile away. All week, just him. He frowned, a slight sigh escaping his lips. Not that that was new, or anything. He'd been a loner for quite some time in his life. Never really venturing beyond his small town, or venturing into how he really felt sexually. More than anything, he wanted someone to call his own.

Turning, he saw his small cabin tucked away in a small clearing a hundred feet or so from the shore, the small dock he was standing on meandering up to it. It was the end to a beautiful day, starting his week-long holiday out in this wilderness.

-An hour later-

Stepping from the cabin, clad in his trunks, he flew out from the porch, heading towards the lake. Near the center, he dived downwards, tucking away his wings, sending him into a fall straight towards the water. With a mighty splash, he dived deep into the water, using his tail to dive deeper and deeper still, until he reached the bottom. He looked around the deep blue depths, seeing the occasional schools swimming past him. Secretly, he had always loved the water. Swimming, diving, all of it. He had always envied sharks, and their abilities. Such a fascinating people. He'd stayed up late, thinking of how it would be to have a shark as a boyfriend. Quite interesting, considering their anatomy.

As he was just about to swim towards the surface, he spotted a dark figure in the water, not moving, just... holding still. Growing worried, he swam up, not wanting to have an unpleasant experience with some sort of sci-fi monster from the depths of the lake. He surfaced, just about to fly away. He saw the dark figure from below dart up towards him at an alarming speed, the tail trailing behind it. He gasped, and flew out of the water, only making it a few inches into the air, the creature's arm shooting out of the water, grabbing his foot. Scared, he tried desperately to loosen away from its grip. The arm pulled him very quickly back into the water. The dragon cried out, yelling for help, hearing his voice echo around him before he was swallowed up again by the water. Underwater, he thrashed madly, trying to get away from it with all his might. The creature held him steadfast, slowly pulling him towards itself. He was losing energy fast, his lungs desperate for oxygen. The creature grabbed him by his arm, pulling him very close. He looked at the creature, terrified, until he registered what he was looking at. A shark, rather attractive, was pulling him closer and closer. He gave in, finally right against the shark, now snout to snout with him. He exhaled, his vision now fading, showed the shark bringing his snout to him, opening his jaws to him. The shark locked teeth with him, pushing air into his depleted lungs. The shark slid its tongue into his mouth, rolling his around the dragon's. The dragon closed his eyes, letting the feelings wash over him. He pulled him closer, sliding his own tongue into the shark's mouth.

The dragon, swam towards the surface, taking the shark with him by the hand. As he reached it, he gasped, taking in the air. The shark waded beside him silently, not knowing what to expect. The dragon's breathing slowed, but his heart was beating fast, seeing the shark beside him, his blue scales matching the shark's skin. He swam towards him, blushing softly.

"H-hi...", said the dragon, looking to the shark, hoping he would speak back.

After a few moments, the shark replied:

"Hello... My name's Carch... What's yours?"

"Watchers, but everyone calls me Watchy," he said, still blushing.

Carch looked to him, a soft smile on his face.

"A dragon, I see. No surprise that here that I'm a shark. A blue shark, in fact.", said Carch.

The dragon slowly took the shark into an embrace, holding him close, nuzzling his neck.

"That was my first kiss, Carch...", said Watchy, a small smile on his face.

The shark softly blushed, softly stroking the dragon's head.

"Mine too..."

They swam towards the dock, talking along the way.

"So, what brings you to the lake?", asked Watchy, looking over to the shark, smiling.

"Well, I wanted to get away from the noise of that busy city, so I took a dart, and threw it on the map, and found this place."

The shark smiled to the dragon.

"I'm actually camping close to the shore. Didn't really want a cabin, so I just swam in the river until I made it here. You?"

"Well," the dragon said.

"I was looking for a good place to read a book, and this little lake seemed just the ticket."

The dragon looked up to the cabin, them now nearing the dock. The shark jumped up onto the dock, his tail floating in the water. He was wearing a speedo, dark blue, matching the color of his back very well. The dragon jumped up next, sitting beside the shark. They both sat in silence for a few moments, both recollecting what had just happened to them.

Carch broke the silence first.

"Erm... I'm... sorry for scaring you. I didn't really know how to... approach you." The shark blushed severely, hoping the dragon wouldn't be angry with him.

Watchers looked to him, and Carch to him. The dragon smiled.

"It's ok. Actually, I'm glad we met. I... I've been looking for someone to... be around..." The dragon frowned, and the shark understood completely.

"It seems we're in the same boat. It actually took a lot to talk myself into doing that to you. I saw you fly in, and... wanted to meet you." The shark looked to him.

"Oh, Carch..." The dragon embraced him again, softly sliding his hands over the shark's gills. The shark shuddered, moaning softly. He pulled away, two slight bulges in his speedo. The dragon smiled to him.

"Let's go to the cabin.", he said.

The shark's pale blue eyes gleamed.

"Sounds like a great idea..."

They both stood, now realizing their height differences. Watchers was at least a full three inches or more taller than Carch. The shark looked up to the dragon, smiling. The dragon looked down. Just as they were about to step off, Watchers stopped. Carch looked back to him.

"What's wrong, Watchy?", asked Carch, slightly worried.

"I... have an idea...", Watchers said, looking to Carch.

Before the shark could say anything, the dragon had him in his arms, the shark completely off the ground, his tail twitching softly.

"Wow... oh my..." the shark said, at a loss for words.

The dragon smiled to him, holding him in his affectionate gaze. The shark looked to him, placing his arm on the dragon's shoulder opposite to him. The dragon leaned in, the shark following suit. They kissed again, locking teeth, sliding their tongues against each other own. The dragon looked up at the full moon peeking over the mountain, the stars slipping out, and the insects chirping in the grass of the forest surrounding them.

Watchers turned, and walked up the dock to the cabin, holding Carch in his arms, a small tear in his eye. He had found him. The one he had wanted.
