#1 of Bound By Destiny
A large purple dragon laid awake in his large gothic bed as lightning flashed lighting up the dark room, the large window swining open from the powerful gusts of wind which made the room smell of the scottish moors. The dragon rose from his bed and walked over closing the window as the lighting made his purple body scales glimmer contrasting with the pink scales along his underside. As the window shut the dragon turned and walked slowly towards the door of his room exiting into the hall venturing towards a large doorway at the end of the hall, pausing the dragon lifts his paw and brings it down against the door knocking loudly.
A soft voice replied to the knock with a caring tone " You may enter my chambers my son ".
The dragon slowly opened the large heavy door with a creak as the smell of a roaring fire entered his nostrils making them tingle. The humungous room was brightly lit by the large fire and cast a shadow over the floor of a large squishy armchair. He reached towards the chair, slowly and silently , a smaller silver paw grasped his and pulled him closer and towards the front of the chair. He looked down to see a smaller silver female dragon dressed in a red velvet nightgown.
"mother are you ok, the storm blew my window open so i thought it might have done the same to yours" he explained as he knelt before her and held her paw gently in his.
"Demi all is well you need not worry about your dear old mother "
" You know i worry ever since my wretched father abandoned us in his manor " demi replied with a deep growl at the thought of the dragon who abandoned him 8 years ago on his 10th birthday
" He did not abandon us demi he left for reasons you dont know " she anwsered with a tone of utmost care in her voice. " He loved you and still does "
Demi interupted and looked away from his mothers gaze " I refuse to believe that he never did anything for me i dont even know what he did for a job"
" silence Demi your father couldnt show his emotion to you he had his reasons he was and still is protecting you from things you couldnt possibly understand and hopefully never have to how many times have i told you this my child "
Demi looked towards the ground as a tear formed in his sapphire eye " forgive me mother ive lost my place again i shall return to bed now may you sleep well "
" as hope you do to my son, i love you " she replied releasing his paw and watching the fire
Demi returned to his room and was suddenly filled with rage "why does she defend him he abandoned me he never cared, he never even took the time to play with me i hate him " he thought as his eyes changed from beautiful saphire to a red fueled by anger. As demi's anger grew he failed to reliase his scales start to turn to black his long waist length rainbow hair changing into a crimson blood red. " I HATE YOU FATHER " demi yelled as he punched the brick wall in front of him which exploded around his fist in a flurry of black flame.
Demi fell to the ground in shock looking down at his own paws in fear. Slowly his scales and eyes returned to there normal state as he tried to figure out what had happened. The crimson hair returned to the rainbow colour it had been as Demi collapsed onto the floor passing out.
" DEMI !!!!!!!" screamed his mother as she found him collapsed on the floor, "demi sweetheart what happened " she said as she shook his large limp form.
Slowly demi woke and looked around seeing tears in his mothers eyes he lept forward embracing her in a loving hug "mother what happened did i do this " he asked looking at the large scorched crater in the wall.
His mother slowly petted his long rainbow hair and sighed looking deep into his beautiful sapphire eyes " Demi i think it is time you learned why i have kept you out of society for so long "
Demi looked down at his mother curiously then slowly sat on his bed making sure not to sit on his tail. His mother sat beside him and began to explain what she had ment .
"Demi you have nearly limitless power which is fueled by your deepest emotions, this you have inherieted from your father, it can be a curse but at the same time a gift from the heavens. Have you ever noticed when your sad the light around you fades, or when you are angry the crackle of the energy in the atmosphere around you, and one day you will find an emotion that will fuel your power without limit and as long as that emotion stays strong you will never lose the magic within you. I know this is alot to take in all at once my son but you must understand there is much i still cant tell you as to protect you under your fathers wishes "
Demi just nodded and held his head "will i ever be able to control it "
His mother looked at his paw and then grasped it in her own " yus demi you will but you need to focus your energy and i will help you "
He looked down at his paw with a look of puzzlement and confusion ."But how mother i didnt even know this power existed how can i control it .
" I want you to focus on you paw and imagine a fire you can hold within it "
"But mother......."
"Do it my son trust me and i will help you focus your energy "
Demi closed his eyes and pictured a flame swirling in his paw as his mother placed her paws over his and focused her energy into directing his. Demi opened his eyes and was amazed to see sparks jumping from his paw as if an invisible lighter was trying to light itself in his paw. As he focused more picturing a magical flame in his paw suddenly pink sparks jumped up and burst into a pink flame in his paw. Astonished he looked towards his mother in awe as she simply nodded towards him and smiled
"one day demi you will be able to control the magical power within you with no bounds and on that day you will complete your training"
"mother is this power why father left did he fear it "
"No demi your father had mastered the power within him to fulfill his destiny and that is why he left for his path of destiny would put you in harms way he only wanted to protect you "
" So he did love me ............ i wish he was here now to help me ...........i cant believe he gave up everything he cared about to protect me .......i need to be alone mother please i need to think " demi said quietly
" As you wish demi as you wish " she said as she left his chambers closing the door silently behind her.
For the first time since his father had left Demi cried at the loss of his dad wishing he had known sooner wishing his father was here...........................
** this is a new series im going to start work on i know this chapter probably isn't the best but its just the start i promise they will get better this is just the pilot so lemme know what you thin ^.#.^
