What started as a daydream, quickly turned into a vivid fantasy for Danzi. He was having a hard time staying asleep, because the dream was so real. As he lay in his fantasy, a stranger walked quietly near him, and left a book. As the dream finally left Danzi, he was left as dissapointed by its end as he would have been if he had just lost his favorite medallion. When he noticed that there was a book near him, he became aware of how long he had slept. "3:15 a.m.???? I was supposed to have left for Kaidens six hours ago!!" As he hurried to redress, he remembered the book. Slowly walking towards it, his neckfur started bristling, as it did when he was in danger. As he picked it up, he scanned the cover, realizing that it was not one he normally had in his apartment. "Dreams and What They Mean....? Hmm....must have been left by Fanir yesterday." Deciding he would continue his mad scramble to get to Kaidens bar, he slipped the book into the pocket of his jeans. As he left his room, he noticed that there was a shadow blocking out the glow of the moon. Searching the skies for any sign of a cause, he found nothing. "Wierd..."
As Danzi finally reached Kaidens, he slipped into his favorite seat in a quiet corner. "Your usual meal Danzi?"
"Yes please Kaiden, and sorry I was late again...those dreams are getting stronger."
"Hmm...you should get yourself checked by a therapist if you can't even remember to eat...but what was it about this time?"
"I'm not completely sure, but She was in it again...It seems every time I drift off, She shows up, waiting for me to drift over towards her."
"Sounds like an enchantment if you ask me..."
"Yea but if i was asking you you'd also say that I need to stop walking here and get a car."
"Well you have a point...well, here's your dinner, I gotta get back to the bar." As Danzi ate his dinner, he remembered the book in his pocket. Deciding he might as well read it, he turned to the first page, and dropped his fork. Pictured in the middle of the page was the seraphim he kept seeing in his dreams! Imediately remembering where he was, he decided to skip dinner, and read the book. As he payed Kaiden for his uneaten meal, his eye was caught by a silver emblem that was hung on the wall of the bar.
"When did you get this Kaiden?"
"Dunno, I found it on my way back from taking out the drunks earlier today...it was sitting on top of a pile of glass, so i figured it was left purposely"
"How much do you want for it?" asked Danzi impatiently.
" I dunno, seing as it was left like garbage, you can make me an offer for it."
"Here's $50, as its all I have left from todays withdrawl." As danzi slapped the bill on the bar, he realized that Kaiden had dropped his jaw. "Whats wrong Kaiden? Do you want more or is this enough?"
"It's more then enough in my opinion, but i wont refuse your offer" said Kaiden sheepishly.
"You know that i mean what I offer, and I'd gladly pay more if need be, but thanks for being honest as always."
"No problem Danzi, just promise me you'll stop carrying alot with you, you know this city isn't safe at this time of night" As Danzi left the bar, he realized what Kaiden said was true... Standing in front of him in the alley he always used was a group of ruffians that usually stayed away from the bar, as they had been thrown out so much.
"Hand over all of your money and precious items, and we wont have to kill you" said a young Wolf, aparently the group's leader.
"And what happens when I ignore your threats and keep walking?" Danzi questioned boldly.
"Heh heh...looks like you're about to find out....get him!" As if waiting for this statement, the group lanched itself at Danzi. As he took out a weasel and a lynx, he noticed that the leader hadnt moved. Slowly being forced to succumb to their wishes, he was dragged to the footpaws of the wolf. "You should have just given up. Now it's too late for you to...." As he was cut off, there was a scream, and Danzi lost conciousness. As he woke, he found himself in a very strange room. At one end was a very large window, that had enough room to let an elephant through, and at the other was a large cat-like being, that just stared at him. Fearing he was about to be attacked again, Danzi tried to launch himself out of the large window, only to realize that he was nowhere near the ground. As he stared down, trying to see the ground below him, he was swept off his feet, and forced back to the mat that he woke upon.
"Stay where you are Danzi, the window is not a good choice of an exit for you." Realizing that the cat-like being was female, he found himself questioning her.
"How do you know my name?" All he recieved was a smirk that sent chills down to the very tips of his tail.
"You should continue to read that book in your pocket...it may give you more answers then you think." As this was being said, the cat-like female bounded across the room and soared out of the window to the unseen ground below. Realizing he was in a very bad situation, he examined the room he was in. It seemed to him, that the only logical enterance and exit was that of the window... As he studied even more, he located a basket that held enough food for him to survive two days. Hopefully he would figure out a way to escape by then. As he had nothing else to do, he decided to read the book, as he had been advised to.

As he started to read the book, he noticed certain things about his surroundings. If what the book said was accurate, Danzi was to be two miles above the ground, and only viewable by certain people. He, apparently, was able to see it because he had been chosen by its guardian, a powerful Seraphim known as Kynna. What suprised Danzi the most, was that it stated Kynna was over a thousand years old! Hoping he was wrong, he continued to read until he came to the last chapter, which had been left blank. Realizing that this wasn't an ordinary book, he started to reread its contents. As he tried to turn back to the start, however, the pages became blank. "Hmm.. apparently I was only intended to read it once...but I get the feeling I've missed something important...." As Danzi was saying this however, the Seraphim returned through the window.
"Have you learned anything of value from reading my history young one?" asked Kynna quietly.
"Well I believe I have, but when i went to restudy it, the pages went blank" answered Danzi politely, although he was still shaking.
"That means you have learned what was needed...You seem to be startled by something, may I ask what it is?" asked Kynna with a soft purr to her voice.
"Im trying to figure out many things at once, and the fact that I'm two miles above where I want to be, along with being unsure how I'm even still alive, shocks me greatly." As Danzi watched Kynna study him, he realized that she seemed to be getting younger. By the time he finally got the courage to speak again, she was that of his age, or so it seemed. "How is it that you come to be over a thousand years old, but look no more then twenty-one?"
Realizing he was watching her alter her appearence, she blushed slightly, and answered very calmly. "I am able to change my body between that of a wise, old Seraphim, to that of a young and beautiful one. If you find this to be unpleasant, I can continue to alter my appearance until it satisfies you."
"No!, I mean, it's not that, it's just watching you change, it just proves that the book was accurate in saying your powers are unimaginable." Taking this as a compliment, Kynna strode over to the basket that held the food, and asked why he had not eaten. "I wasn't meaning to be rude by that, it's just I've gotten used to eating at a certain time of day, so as to never mess with my daily meanderings."
As Danzi watched her take a pear from the basket, he suddenly realized that he had no notion of what time it was, or how long it had been since he had last ate. Finally remembering that he was able to eat, he went over and selected a fresh plum, making sure not to humiliate himself as Kynna watched him. Taking his chosen fruit back to the corner he awoke in, he slowly bit into it's rich flesh. "You must be careful of how you eat the plums I gather," said Kynna as Danzi started choking on the juices, "They are specially chosen to have much more in them than expected." As Danzi recovered from this fact, he turned to her to see a slight sparkle in both eyes, a sparkle he had only seen twice before. It seemed to him that the last chapter was left empty, because the story wasn't over. Walking back over to the book, he opened it, and as he had imagined, there was new text, that told of all that had passed since he awoke to find it. Realizing he had been watched for such an amount of time, he pulled out the symbol he had payed Kaiden for.
"Would I be correct in assuming that this is yours?" questioned Danzi. As he had guessed, Kynna started to blush, and nodded.
"I was busy fleeing from you as you woke and it caught on a branch near the bar. I had meant to return for it, but I had the feeling you would locate it sooner then expected." Danzi, realizing that his being caught wasn't just a normal coincidence, collapsed onto the floor, and stared at Kynna.
"So you're telling me you had meant for me to get stopped by that gang of wolves, weasels, and lynx's?"
"No, I had meant for you to return home, and have the symbol bring deeper meaning to you in your dreams. After all, I had been giving you them for some time, I thought I might as well shed some light on why you were given them." Dumbstruck that she knew of his dreams, all he could do was stare at her...trying to figure out how and why she had done what she had.
"Why did you choose me to be able to come here?" To this question, all Kynna could do was turn away, and try to hide her embarressment. Trying to understand her feelings, Danzi thought back to his dreams. As if from nowhere, a full rush of forgotten dreams surged upon him. Being unable to escape, he let them rush through his mind, felling that as each passed by, he had become more and more like that of the Seraphim.
As they visions ended, Danzi staggered to his feet, and went over to a tub full of water that hadn't been there before. Looking into it, he realized he hadn't been imagining his feelings, he had indeed become a Seraphim, but was unsure of how. "What is this Majick? How am I now what you are?" were some of the various questions he started asking Kynna.
"All in good time Danzi...You have just finished a very long, and very unnatural transformation. While you are now a Seraphim, as you have noticed, you still have the same weaknessess as before, even if your strengths have increased." Thinking about what she had stated, Danzi turned back to his reflection, and started to study his new being. Remembering that Seraphims had wings, he turned to try to see his own better. Finding this to be impossible, he sat down and thought hard upon the matter.
"How do you learn what you can and can't do if you are made into a Seraphim?" Danzi questioned Kynna.
"Usually you learn the same way that we do, through practice," said Kynna with a slight laugh. Fearing he had just made a fool of himself, Danzi tried very hard to understand what he had become. "As to your question on why I chose to make you a Seraphim, I thought that was apparent. While you were sleeping, and dreaming of me, I too was dreaming of you." As this information dawned on Danzi, he realized he was being watched even closer by Kynna.
"Why do you stare at me?" asked Danzi, slightly regretting it after as Kynna again blushed.
"I was thinking of my dreams and the certain "details" I enjoyed and was hoping to experience," Kynna replied as she turned from her natural honeyed color to a slight crimson. Realizing what she was talking about, Danzi also blushed, but instead of turning crimson as he had expected, he turned a pale shade of cerulean.
"Why do i turn a different color as I blush now?" exclaimed danzi as he stared at his fur.
"Well you Are a white tiger naturally....I just thought you would rather a milder color, as it is your favorite" said Kynna, realizing he didnt understand anywhere near what she did.
"So if I turn blue when I blush, and thats my favorite color, would I be right in assuming yours is a shade of red?"
Trembling as she planned her answer carefully, she replied, "Yes it is, ruby if you wished to know." Thinking he had finally come to understand what he was to have happen, he slowly brought up an awkward question.
"Are you making me into a Seraphim to replace you as the guardian of this....tower?" Thinking hard, as she had trouble finding a way to explain it, she forced herself to just tell him.
"Danzi... I chose you to become a Seraphim, because I.....I wanted to be with you...." As the impact of her words hit him, he realized why she was still blushing, and why she had left when he first woke.
"So... I take it this means that it is quite awkward for me to know these feelings, match them even, and still remain calm?" As Kynna tried to answer him, Danzi suddenly became a rich, royal blue.
"I guess you aren't as calm as you say, but yes it is shocking... I would have expected, as it happens in most books, that you would have fainted at this information, or atleast done something more dramatic." As this series of information imbedded itself on Danzi's mind, he tried to think clearly enough to find something to reply with. As he could not do this, he just sat down upon a bed that had appeared.
Trying to understand this, he suddenly lost conciousness. As he swirled among his thoughts in an unconcious pool, a voice found its way to him. "Whatever comes of you dreams, don't judge too harshly that which is reality. All you can hope to learn, is information long since forgotten by you and me. Maybe in this way, we shall become closer...close enough perhaps, for you to realize my feelings completely." As the voice faded, he drifted on, further into long past memories, dreams, and saw visions that weren't even his, nor were likely to be Kynna's.
