a white christmas part one

Seth was in his bland apartment lying on his springy queen-sized bed, staring out the open window in his room. As he watched the fluffy, white snowflakes fall past the glass, he couldn't help but wonder... another blank Christmas? Living in a small town, that happened to look more like a ghost town than the country setting it was suppose to portray, for the winter holiday was boring enough, but not being able to spend it with someone else was just dreadful. It had been more than a decade since he spent the holidays with anyone, including his parents. They were always busy during this time of the year, and not surprisingly too worked up over his older brother and sister... who happened to be married and had children. Seth had never liked his parents... even after they found out he was gay, which was twelve years ago. He was seventeen then. Now thirty years old and no one to spend the "happiest" of holidays with, he seemed to become more depressed with each passing year.

The shiny silver alarm clock on his white oak dresser went off. He pressed the small button to silence the blaring noise. Seth then got up and dragged his tired feet to the small bathroom, where he took a hot shower and got ready for work. Dressed, he sat down on the foldable chair next to his window and looked at the clock situated on the dresser. The red numbers seemed to make him even sadder. Being a wolf with a horrible history seemed to kill him slowly.

He stood up and looked at himself in a body mirror which hung from a wall in his room. Slowly turning from side to side, he examined himself and gave a slight smile to himself. He liked the way he looked. He stood tall, was thin, and had beautiful black and white fur that seemed so smooth that it was like he was wearing silk. He wore a white work shirt and black pants. He also had a tie that was black and had green stripes running across it. As he looked at the clock again, he left his room, grabbing his car keys and coat, and then left for work.

Seth pulled up to an office building away from the little town he lived in. As he walked in the building he saw the building was bustling with activity. (How can anyone be up at this time and be wide awake?) Seth thought as he walked past furs scurrying here and there, talking and exchanging gifts. (I mean god, it's only the day before Christmas Eve... Geez you people scare me.) He thought as he went into his cubical, taking off his coat, sitting down and putting his head down on his desk. Seth was so dead tired that in a matter of moments he fell asleep.

***

Seth was woken up by someone shaking him.

"Seth wake up, its lunch time"

Seth raised his head and rubbed the sleep from his eyes, yawning. He looked at the fur that woke him up. To his surprise, it was someone he never met before in his three years working here. It was a fox. He looked to be in his late twenties and was surprisingly cute to Seth. He looked at the fox's face and admired his deep amber eyes.

"Ugh... Thanks... I hope the boss doesn't kill me for this."

"He is in too much spirit to do anything mean."

"That good... I guess."

"Well, see ya around." The fox said walking off.

Seth was dumb-struck by how cute the fox was his amber eyes stuck in Seth's head. Seth got up and walked out of his cubical and into a small room that had five tables with four chairs around them. There were vending machines and a fridge, as well as a sink and counters.

Seth went to a vending machine and put a dollar in and chose a granola bar, hoping it would keep him awake for the rest of the day. Seth sat in a corner table and looked around, taking a bite out of the strawberry flavored bar. Seeing nothing of interest, he hurried and finished the granola bar, but when he finished he could feel the sleep come back to him. Seth got up and walked out of the lunch room, thinking he needed a bit of fresh, crisp air.

Seth walked out and leaned against the wall next to the double doors the building had as an entrance. He watched fluffy white snowflakes fall to the ground and his breath come out in white wisps as he breathed out of his muzzle. Seth was beginning to wonder if he should make a Christmas wish. (I wish for someone to spend Christmas with) Seth thought.

Seth was surprised how wide awake was due to the cold air hitting him and trying to turn him into a wolfsickle. Seth looked around and only saw white as his teeth began to chatter. Seth shivered a little as he stared out into the vastness of white, wondering why he only saw white and no other building he usually saw in the distance. (This snow is coming down heavy... I hope they close work early for this.) He thought.

"Hey Seth... Didn't expect to see you out here."

The voice startled Seth and he looked to see who disturbed his cold silence. It was the fox who woke him up earlier.

"Well... I need to stay awake" Seth replied back.

"I see..."

"Why are you out here?"

"Getting tired of all the holly jolly spirit that is going on inside... They scare me sometimes." the fox said shivering abit.

"I know how you feel"

There was a long silence as Seth stared at the fox. The fox stared back at Seth, his breath coming out at a fast pace as he stood there.

"Hey... What's your name?" Seth asked, trying to break the aquward silence.

"David"

"And how do you know my name already, even though we never met?"

"I hear your name here and there"

"I see..."

"So what are you doing for this Christmas, Seth?"

"Nothing..."

"Really?"

"Yeah..."

"Why?"

"I have no one to spend it with, and my parents disowned me."

"Sorry to hear that..."

"It's okay.... I have been alone for the last twelve years and I kinda got used to it"

"Well, I have an idea."

"What?"

"Why don't you come with me to my place and we could celebrate Christmas together... I have no one to spend Christmas with either."

"Thanks, but I rather not... You might have guests coming over and all that" Seth said testing the fox.

David shook his head. "I don't do parties... And I thought we could spend this time to get to know each other better... We just met and you seem too withdrawn."

"Thanks, but still... I rather not."

"Please? You'll enjoy it"

Seth thought for a moment, how could he pass up an opportunity with a cute fox? "Okay, I'll come."

"Yay!!" The fox squeaked.

"Wow... Hyper are we?"

"Sorry... This is a first for me and I wanted to at least try to make a new friend while I'm here."

"How long have you been working here?"

"About four months now."

"I see..."

Seth shivered abit and looked out into the vastness again, seeming he would be lost if he began walking out into it. He felt an arm wrap around him and he looked at the fox that was next to him.

"What are you doing?"

"You're shivering"

"So?" Seth said pushing the fox away.

"But your cold and I thought I could help" David said standing there.

"Like anybody cares about me"

"Hey I do"

"No you don't, you're probably just like my old 'friends'."

"I do care about you, even though we just met." David said blushing abit.

"Well don't, I don't need crushed any more than I already am."

"But... You seem so alone..."

Seth gave the fox a puzzled look. "And what is that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing... Just forget I said anything to you."

David turned around and went for the entrance of the building. Seth wrapped his arms around the smaller fox and held him close. Seth herds the fox murr abit and leaned in.

"I do know what you ment by the way."

Seth felt the fox tence up and try to break the hold Seth had on him. David broke the hold and stood there, staring at Seth.

"What?" Seth asked

"N-nothing."

"Awe, come on now, the way your acting is not surprising... For a gay guy"

"I'm n-not gay!"

"You lie." Seth said with a smirk

"I am not!"

"Then why are you so heated about it?"

Seth watched the fox blush. "Because..."

"Well if it makes you feel any better.... I-I'm gay."

"A-are you really?"

"Yes." Seth said lowering his head, expecting to be made fun of or rejected by a new friend who he thought was gay too.

"Oh... well... I am too..." The fox hesitated.

Seth looked up and stared at the fox. "I understand why you said you weren't"

"I'm sorry for putting you through this."

"I'm fine."

The fox smiled and padded up to the wolf. "I really am"

"Like I said, I'm fine."

Seth looked at the fox and gave a slight smile. David placed a paw on Seth's chest and smiled at the wolf. As Seth looked down at the fox, He couldn't help but stare at the fox's amber eyes.

"So do you still want to come over place? I won't do anything to you, I promise."

"Sure, I have nothing else better to do."

David smiled "Yay!"

"But first I want to do something."

"What's that?" The fox asked.

"This..."

Seth grabbed the fox by the shoulders and pulled him into a deep kiss. David was shocked at first but murred as he kissed back, His arms limp at his sides and his eyes closed. As Seth kissed the fox, He felt like he finally belonged... With this fox he is kissing now. They broke the kiss and Seth stood there breathless, not believing that he just kissed the fox.

"Seth... That was... Wonderful"

Seth breathed. "It was"

David shivered and Seth held him close. "Let's go inside before we turn into furscickles" Seth said.

David giggled." Alright"

They kissed one more time before returning inside.
