Sorry for the delays on this part. Too much reading other peoples stories and trying to finish other parts before this one, which means they will be coming a lot quicker now. Enjoy.

Dark Origins: Revelations: Part 2

Dorzel Two had one natural satellite according to the Pressat's records, but when the mixed race crew of the Pressat approached its orbit they were greeted by a scene of vast destruction. It was as if it had been shattered into thousands of fragments by some tremendous force and that much of its remains had formed a ring around the planet much like Saturn's. Sensors and their eyes also detected scattered remains of debris of technological origin among the debris the condition of which spoke of not just of one but several massive past battles that were decades old if not more.

Matt was in the middle of plotting a course around and through the remains of the moon when Feih turned to Sarah and asked for a status report on the ship's weapons.

She tried her best to keep her voice calm when she told her brother's mate that, "They're primed, but, as per Jason's orders, they're still on standby."

Feih fought to hold her tongue at this news that had also greeted them when they entered the bridge several hours ago that morning; Jason had over rode her command codes so that the main guns could not be fired without his prior authorization. But thiswas not the only thing that had angered her.

Matt had done a routine in depth check of the ship's navigational logs soon afterward and discovered that it had been used to journey to these same coordinates at its maximum speed soon after it had been retrofitted for deep space flight and that there was also a missing amount of time in the logs from a second trip that had been omitted from the official record from just before Jason and Feih's confrontation over its use. Upon further investigation he discovered that according to the ship's internal chronometer the ship had been away for two month which should have been impossible as they had had it in their possession for less than six weeks. After he had calmed her down over Jason's possible betrayal of their agreement on the use of the Dorzeli ship, even though it had happened before their "battle", he speculated on what this could mean when he remembered the source of the ship's power, an artificial black hole, and of what could have been done with such a power to cause such a conflict in the record. It was at this point he got his first view of the planet's surface through the cloud cover on his display.

He swallowed hard as what he saw could have been a match to what earth could have looked like after a nuclear holocaust. Craters, several kilometers in diameter were almost in every area not covered by clouds. He checked the radiation levels and found that, although they were well within Dorzeli long term tolerance range, they were high enough to justify his assumption of the use of such weapons and or the destruction of several large starships that may have crashed into the surface. It made him think back to what Freerah had revealed about this world: an enemy that had, at one time, out numbered the entire population of the member races of the Kroon Empire had, like the Soriss, tried to exterminate them were responsible. The ship they were in was one of the few connections left of those battles.

His attention was diverted from these thoughts to the rear of the bridge when Jason and Freerah entered where he saw what potential danger they were in by the grim looks on their faces and, to his surprise, he saw that Jason had changed his human hair style; if it was not for the normal Dorzeli short "fur" on his head he could have been considered bald with the center ridge, which all Dorzeli had, was exposed.

After greeting the all of the bridge crew Jason asked his sister, "Have you picked up any other ships in the system?"

She answered, "No. The only thing I've found is a single high energy source near our landing zone. It's definitely a Dorzeli Prime's, but it's a whole order of magnitude higher than either yours or Freerah's." She paused and her ears laid flat against her skull when she realized that she may have just insulted them.

Freerah's expression was neutral when she said, "That's what we hoped to find."

Jason closed his eyes then said, "He must be asleep." His statement caused everyone to turn towards him.

Though still angry that Jason had usurped her authority over control of the ship's weapons systems Feih made sure that her question did not sound like an accusation for she had seen how sensitive Freerah was on certain subjects during the meeting, "I thought that, according to the records that you showed us, all of the second and third generation type Dorzeli Primes had left this sector of the galaxy?"

Freerah appeared to be on the verge of tears when she answered; "Some stayed behind and launched a retaliatory attack on the enemy's home world, destroyed it and many of their colonies..." Matt saw a combination of grief overcome her. Jason rushed to her side and hugged her. "I'm sorry."

He caressed her and addressed the others; "They suffered over eighty percent casualties during that campaign, including her mother, then the survivors were betrayed by those like Shiru when they tried to gain the political power they believed that they had earned."

Matt was about to wonder how powerful that enemy could have been to withstand an assault by hundreds, perhaps thousands, of beings as powerful as Freerah and still inflict such high losses upon them when Jason looked to him and asked, "How much longer until we land?"

He almost stuttered when he replied, "We should arrive at the nearest landing pad to that energy source within fifteen minutes." He glanced at his sister and, over his implant, inquired about any signs of human life on the planet.

She checked her instruments and frowned, "None anywhere on the surface and considering the condition of the planet I'm not surprised."

He found this strange as the information that was presented at the Dorzeli only meeting had indicated that many of the descendents of the humans that had been abducted from earth centuries ago had survived past the time of the creation of the Dorzeli and may have continued to live among them.

Freerah left her mate's side, walked up to Feih's position, stared at the clouds over their destination and announced the reason for their journey, "My father and some others stayed behind to guard our rear when I and the rest were evacuated just before the last attack. When we returned while testing this ship's capabilities we found that he was the only one left." He saw a look of determination come to her face when she said, "I intend on bringing him back with us now that that threat has been removed."

Jason, who had followed and was just to her rear stated, "I don't think that would be wise."

He cringed and his ears went back and when she turned, put her face in his and snarled, "You may have a problem with him but he's MY father and I want with us." She took a moment to calm down, leaned back and added, "Plus he'll be able to help us fight the Soriss in case they try and move on Mendall or Earth again."

Jason regained his former composure and muttered, "If he accepts me this time."

She smirked and turned back toward the main screen. "Considering what you've done since the last time we were here I believe that he will."

Feih hesitated then asked a question that all had been afraid to utter, "May I ask what he may have done to earn your father's respect?"

She looked down at her and grinned. "Since you, Matt and one other unidentified intruder have already gone through the encrypted records this morning you may already know."

Matt was not surprised that they had been found out but wondered who besides them could have gotten into a system that required a Dorzeli genetic key to access it.

"We didn't have time to get into too much besides your first side trip here," explained Feih with some nervousness in her voice, "And that one unexplained mission that's in the logs."

Matt also became nervous when Jason approached, then stood next to him, but instead of chastising him for what he and his mate had done. Instead he stared at the main screen and his horns glowed. Seconds later it switched to a still picture of Jason's human form in a fighting pose in an open field of grass with trees and a mountain range in the distance.

"I was able block that other person, probably one of the reporters, from seeing this but no matter where they got the ability to get as far as they did into the system I should be able to track that individual down if any of the information that was gathered from the mainframe is transmitted once this is over."

Matt's attention was brought back to the screen when it flashed and he heard an explosion.

"That was a particularly close one."

What he witnessed next caused his mouth to drop open; the area where Jason had been was covered by a miniature mushroom cloud and now he was in flight in human form and engaged in both a physical and energy battle with an individual whose appearance caused him to gasp, "Th-that's impossible" while, in disbelief, he watched a being once thought to be fictional character spar with his commander.

Jason nodded his head, "I thought so too until I discovered that in some parallel universes I have more power than in others. And no, what you're seeing is not some form of hyper CGI but the real thing"

"We have inter-dimensional travel?" asked Feih.

Jason nodded and smiled while his human form continued the battle on the screen. "That and limited time travel, plus or minus 302.6 years but the problem is that we can't do it in this same dimension/reality so there can and will be many differences between the histories of each one like what you're seeing now." He pointed to the screen just as he launched an energy wave at his golden haired opponent who blocked it with ease then shot one back which he was able to avoid. "This one in particular allowed me to use some of my Dorzeli powers while in human form although they were very limited, at first. I chose to train with him and his group to help boost them and my and confidence."

He grinned when on the screen he mange to hold off further assaults then and announced, "This also means that we have access to weapons and technology that neither the Kroon nor the Soriss could have ever dreamed of, much of which is being installed on all of Earth's newest ships and retrofitted on the rest of the fleet."

Matt could only continue and watch and be awed by how well Jason seemed to handle himself until a smaller individual joined in and forced him to change into his full Dorzeli form in order to fight off their combined attacks.

Feih smirked, "So this is how you withstood my attack back on Dessla."

Jason smiled in response, "Yes. If it wasn't for what I learned sparring with them your attack would've knocked me unconscious," He glanced at Freerah who was still astounded by what she saw and raised his left eyebrow, "As I believe someone had planned."

She smiled and nodded to him, "Your resourcefulness has surprised me again: one of the reasons why I took you as a mate."

He also smiled then looked around the bridge. "And in case you are all wondering this ship has auto return capability so it won't get lost among all the possible realities and no one we visit can make it back here unless they have similar tech which this ship can detect so we don't have to worry about cross dimensional invasions." He turned back to the screen where he seemed to have gotten the upper hand in the battle.

Matt wondered what other surprises the ship could hold for him and the others as it entered Dorzel Two's atmosphere as well as who else could have managed to get into the ship's computer systems almost as deep as he and Feih had that morning.

Indeed it had been a close call for the spy that morning, but despite almost being discovered inside the ship's systems, his determination to complete his mission remained as strong as ever while he rode out the descent to the planet's surface with his eyes locked onto the container that held his second and much better stealth suit that he hoped would help him find out the real reason they were landing on this planet instead of returning to Earth or Mendall where he could upload this and all the other data he had gathered so far to his organization's systems.
