It has been a week since the death of Shadow Darkmoon. Pack Sighlen Fang returned to its normal life. Its way too quiet now since Shadow died, like all the excitement has been sucked out of it.
Sasha still hasn't been with any other wolf yet. She stops by Shadow's grave for a few minutes but walks off crying. But the one who stays for hours is his big brother Silver.
Even though Shadow has died Silver talks to himself like he was with his little brother. Silver hasn't been the same since the death if his father and the death of his little brother he found lost in the woods as a pup. All the hatred Shadow had gone through, all leading up to him being banished from the pack, and now this. Pack Elders are starting to whisper about if Silver is still mentally capable of being Alpha.
Today, as Silver is going to vist his brothers grave, Sasha desides to tag along. Silver looked at Sasha and whimpered but keept on walking. They both went to the grave, alone, the pack had moved away from it a few days ago, to give Shadow's spirit a place to rest. They both sat down, Sasha already crying.
Silver, unable to say much with the other wolf standing beside him, decided to howl with the wind. Since it now stopped snowing and spring was now near, a patch of flowers were already growing around the grave. The howl of Silver went with the wind to a empty silnce. Silver sat there whimpering, remembering times before he would howl, and his little brother's howl would answer it from afar, distance had never seperated them, only death could finally do that. Sasha walked away but Silver stayed there.
Silver laid down to take a nap and layed on Shadow's gave. Just like they did when he found Shadow so he stayed warm from the winter storms, keeping the pup warm. He dozed off, whimpering, and dreamed.
The wolf found himself in a dark place. Silver looked around but was all alone. But, as he keeped walking he heard growls of playing and barks, but no smell or any scent. Silver stopped as a big tall rock appeared, the same rock he had stood upon when Shadow saw him. "Why... why am I here. Am I being lead to something?" The wind blew finnally in a direction. Silver stood a moment, and followed his whims to follow the wind. He changed his direction when the wind changed, until at least, he came up to a den in the side of a mountain, dark and deep. The den where he took Shadow to stay warm, and the den that Shadow had used when he had been exiled.
He stood a moment, until he heard movement inside. His tail perked up and his eyes opened wide. He saw someone that he cared for. "Shadow!!!"
Shadow stood there smiling in the den, just barely in the light. "Hey big brother." he smiled. Silver ran up to me and tackled him, they both fell to the ground in the cave, yipping in happiness.
"You know this is only a dream right?" Shadow finally asked silently.
Silver jumped off. "Well... yes I do but why did you lead me here?"
Shadow looked down, "I brought you here to let you know this was where you took me when you first found me. You saved my life from the harsh winter. I wanted to bring you here because this is where my spirit is. This is the only place I'm still alive."
"How how do you know this?"
The black wolf smiled at him. "Because silly I've been watching you this entire week. The pack still talks about my name and how I was the wolf god himself."
Silver smiled back. "Yeah, what I guess you're hearing is true. Why me now?" I looked at him. "Because Silver. I know you miss me. My spirit maybe still here but it's not really there you can only see me here in the dream world. I was put here from the wolf god himself to be fn your dreams. If you want to see me I will come but I will be watching you. Even in the real world. I'm always standing there watching you and protecting you now."
Silver looked stunned. But shook his head. "Then you'll be with me forever then...?"
Shadow nodded. "Yes, but if you want I'll make it to where you can see me but you will not be able to hear me or talk to me." Silver looked down. "Listin little bro... I know I need to move on but if you stay in my dreams I'd be happy. I miss the things we did in the past, before you got exiled for them..."
Shadow looked down and his tail stopped wagging and his ears dropped. "What ... what we did in the past still cannot happen in the dream world you may still have desires but not with me. I'm sorry big brother."
The white wolf nodded, "Shadey..." He used his pet name for his little brother, "I-
"Silver! Silver wake up!!!" Silver snapped open his eyes and saw his mate Terra, "Silver are you ok?"
He shook his head and looked at her. "Yeah im ok. I...I had a dream...with Shadey."
She looked at him and smiled lightly. "So how did it go?"
Silver looked down. "It went ok..." Silver got up and looked at Terra, "How are the new little ones, and...the black one?" Silver asked.
Terra smiled. "They're doing just fine, especially the new Shadow. He'll grow up to be just like him I'm sure."
Silver smiled and walked with Terra back to their den. As Silver thought of what Shadow said, he thought to himself. "I'm sorry too...I am too..." Silver walked back with Terra and back with his pack.
