High School Love Story

Chapter One: The Party

A young fox tosses and turns in his bed. He has some trouble sleeping at night. It's still pretty early but he wakes up slowly. As he sits up he looks at his alarm clock and sighs.

"Great... five in the morning..." He stands and walks to his bathroom. As he empties his bladder he hears noise coming from downstairs. That would be his parents getting ready for work. He exits the bathroom and pads down the steps. He perks up his ears o try to locate his mother. That sound of humming coming from the kitchen tells that she is probably finishing her breakfast.

"Oh, good morning, Maxy." He hears her says and he steps into the dining room (which is actually just a table in the kitchen area) "My, you're up early!"

"Yeah, I couldn't sleep... again. Where's dad?"

"I think he's in the garage. Go put some shorts or something on; you know your father hate's it when you walk around in your boxers."

Max chuckles, "He's just jealous." He was down a smaller set of stairs and pulls a pair of shorts out of the dryer. As he slips them on his father comes in from the garage.

"Mornin' Max."

"Good morning." He replies. Max makes to go back up the steps but stops when his dad grabs him by the shoulder.

"You got any plans this weekend, son?"

"I don't know, maybe. Doug will probably find some party to take me to." He sees his fathers ears droop slightly. He still didn't like the fact that his only son had a boyfriend.

"Yeah..." he says, sounding disappointed.

"But... I could probably blow it off. What, you have something planned this weekend or something?"

"Not really. I just thought we could spend some... father-son time, as dumb as that sounds."

"Yep, that's pretty lame." Max says, smiling foolishly.

"Oh, shut up." He says, shoving his son playfully. They both walk back to the kitchen, joking back and forth.

"James, we have to hurry up and get ready for work now." Max's mother says, walking by swiftly.

"Yes, Vicki dearest." He calls after her mockingly. Turning back to his son he says, "Now, look Max. I don't have a problem with you going to any parties with your... with Doug. But I don't want you getting involved with anything that could hurt you." At this point Max rolls his eyes. James cuffs Max's ear softly. "I'm serious! If you ever get drunk or high or whatever, you call me."

"Yeah, right. I'd rather risk driving home... if I had a car. If you ever caught me drunk you'd make a welcome mat outta my ass."

"Max... I'm not saying I won't be mad. I understand you're seventeen; drugs are cool and all that. But at least call me if you ever need help, okay?"

"Okay, dad."

"Promise me, Max."

"Dad," Max says, looking him dead in the eye. "I don't drink and I don't do drugs, but if I ever need help I'll call you."

"Thanks."

"Yeah, now get to work, you old coot."

"Whatever. See you tonight, Max"

"Yeah, later." Max waves good bye to his dad as he walks out the door and goes upstairs to take a shower.

Walking into the bathroom he drops his shorts and boxers in one motion and turns on the water full blast. As he waits for the water to warm up Max thinks of Doug, his big sexy wolf boyfriend. He stands about six two to Max's six and he is muscularly built where Max is slender. Max loved his soft grey-black fur and chestnut brown eyes.

Max jumps in the shower and bathes himself. Halfway through the shower he hears is phone ring. He jumps out of the shower, grabs a towel and rushes to his room to answer it.

"Hello?"

"I know what you're wearing." Came a deep voice from over the phone.

"Hey, baby." Max says smiling widely.

"Aww, how'd you know it was me?" The voice changes to become that of Doug.

"One, you can't disguise your voice very well and two..." Max walks to the window and waves at the car in the driveway. "I can see you. Come on in, you know where the key is."

"Alright, see you in a few seconds."

Max rushes to dry off as he hears Doug's car door open and slam shut. When he hears pawsteps coming from the stairs he quickly wraps the towel back around himself. His door opens and the wolf walks in slowly, looking as sexy as ever, his tight jeans and T showing off his muscles very well.

"Mornin', sexy." Doug says, pulling Max into his arms and kissing him, running his tongue over Max's, lapping at the roof of his mouth. Doug pulls back from the kiss and the two stand in each other's arms, starring lovingly into the others eyes.

"Love you." Max says after a minute, breaking the silence. Doug smiles brightly.

"Love you too." Doug lowers his paw to the towel around Max's waist. "How about we drop this for your favorite wolf?"

"Doug... we've talked about this..."

"No." Doug says in a slightly higher pitched voice. "I wasn't talking about having sex, foxy." The wolf flashes Max his best and brightest smile.

"Oh..."

"I understand that you aren't ready to take that step, babe, and I wouldn't try to pressure you to have sex with me, okay?"

"Good. Now turnaround and let me get dressed."

"You're no fun." Doug replies, sticking his tongue out. He turns around anyway, but Max doesn't notice that Doug is watching him through a mirror on the wall. Watching as Max drops the towel, showing the perfect curves of his ass. Doug closes his eyes when Max bends over to get a clean pair of boxers. He didn't want thereto be a lump in his pants when he turns around again. Max was so insecure about himself, but Doug was sure that he would come around.

"Alright, you can turn around now." Max says as he pulls on a shirt. Doug turns, looks Max up and down and whistles.

"Looking good, foxy. Let's go, we don't wanna be late."

"It's only seven; we don't have to be in school for another hour." Max says, tilting his head to the side.

"Oh, right... So, what do you wanna do?"

"X-Box?"

"Sure, let's play Halo."

"Man... you dominate at Halo." Max says.

"You picked the system I pick the game, seems fair to me" Doug comes back, smiling as usual.

"Whatever!" Max says, submitting. He fires up the game and they play for a while. After being slain for what seemed the millionth time, Max looks at the clock. "Shit!" He says. "It's seven forty-seven, hurry up. Let's go!"

They both jump up and run out of Max's room, down the stairs, out the door and into Doug's car. The wolf speeds out of the driveway and off toward their school. A few minute into the trip Max recalls his talk with his father and asks Doug,

"Hey, you got any plans for us this weekend?"

"Oh, yeah! Jake is going to have this bad ass party Saturday. He said there would be black lights, killer music, and a few... necessities."

"You mean drugs?"

"Well, yeah..."

"You know I don't get into that stuff, baby."

"But you'll still come right?" The wolf asks pleadingly. "I told them I'd bring you, foxy."

Max stays silent for a short while, but then says, "Fine, I'll go. But promise me one thing."

"You name it."

Max looks at Doug with care in his eyes. "Just don't get too drunk, okay?"

Doug pats Max's leg. "I'll try, baby, I'll try."

"I just don't want you getting into any trouble."

"Yeah, I know. Don't worry, though. I won't." The conversation trails off from there. Max and Doug often talk about Doug's addictions, and it always ended the same way. Doug would say he's try his best, but the next chance he got he'd slip right back into the habit. There wasn't really much point in talking about it anymore, but Max could never get mad at him.

Now Doug just turns up the radio to drown out the silence. The music helps to ease the tension and soon they arrive at school. Jumping quickly out of the car, Doug rushes around and opens the door for his foxy. They walk out of the student parking with their paws in each others back pockets. As they walk into the school they are stopped by the principal.

"I see two boys who are being a little too close for school."

"What!? Where!?" Doug says looking around goofily.

"Right here." He says, pulling the fox and the wolf apart, smiling. "Two feet, boys. Two feet."

After he walks around the corner Doug pulls Max into a quick hug and gave him a peck on the cheek.

"Have a good day, sexy."

"You, too." Max says and pulls away from his big sexy wolf. As he walks to his first period class he thinks about Saturday. Two days from now he would either be spending time with his dad or at a party with his boyfriend. 'Such a hard choice!' he thinks to himself. As he arrives at his first period class the bell rings and another dull school day begins.

The day drags by, hour by ticking hour, slowly as always. The fox's only break was lunch, where he could spend a little down time with his friends.

As the school day comes to an end and he exits the building, Max sees Doug leaning against his car talking to Amanda, a rat femme that hey both know. As he approaches the car Amanda notices him.

"Hey Max!" she says, hugging him quickly. She always greets the two males with a hug, perhaps because of the security that it wouldn't be taken sexually. "How was your day?"

"Oh, good." Max replies. Then, turning to Doug, "Hey, you." He hugs him tightly.

"Mmmm... Hey, foxy." Doug says when he steps back. "You ready to go?"

"Yeah, see you tomorrow, Amanda."

"Bye, boys."

"Bye." Doug says as he opens the passenger side door or Max. After Max gets in Doug closes the door and jumps in on his side. As they pull out of the parking lot Doug brings up the party again.

"So, are you excited about this weekend or what?" The wolf asks enthusiastically.

"Actually..." Max says hesitantly, "I was thinking of spending the weekend with my dad." Truthfully he just wasn't sure about going to the party and being around Jake.

"You can spend Sunday with him and still go to the party with me." Max still looks uncertain. "Please." Doug adds.

"Okay, I'll talk to dad about it."

"Thanks, foxy." Max really wouldn't have minded spending some time with his father, but going to the party with Doug did sound just a bit more fun. Not to mention the fact that Max feels better about Doug and the drugs when he's there to monitor him. After pulling into the driveway Doug gets out and opens the door for Max, who kisses him goodbye and goes inside.

"Hey, dad?" Max calls as he enters the house. "Dad, you home?"

"Yeah, Max." James says, stepping out of the kitchen. "I got off early, what's up?"

"Well... " Max starts. "Doug wants me to go to this party with on Saturday."

"Oh, so we're off?"

"Yeah, sorry..."

"No, it's okay." James says, smiling. "You've got to make sure that Doug doesn't kill himself, right?"

"Sorta... Maybe we can hang out next week?"

"Sounds good."

Max heads up to his room and lies down on his bed. His teachers had been merciful that day and hadn't assigned any homework. His mind started to wander to Doug. They had only been 'an item' for roughly a year. Before then Doug was in a relationship with a German Shepard, Jake. The same Jake that had invited Doug to the party. Jake and Max don't get along too well, to say the least.

'Jake's just mad because Doug's mine, now.' Max thinks. Doug had said in the past that he had only gone out with Jake to get inside him, but this made Max feel that the same could go for him. 'But Doug has been so patient, he couldn't just want to fuck me then leave... But maybe he's just playing me." Max grows angry with himself for thinking this. 'Grow up. Doug hasn't sad or done anything for me to question his love like this.'

Max's phone begins to ring. Answering it, "Hello?"

"Hey, foxy." It's Doug.

"Hey, sexy. I was just thinking about you."

"Really?" Doug says. "What kinda thinking?"

"Grow up." Max says, laughing. "I was more thinking about us, but never mind that. What's up?"

"I just wanted to talk. Are we good for Saturday?"

"Yeah, dad doesn't mind me going. He's probably just worried about your so-called 'necessities'."

"If it makes you feel any better I've decided to quit. For real this time."

"Sure you have..."

"I'm serious! I know it bothers you, so I'm going\ to try to stop." Max was skeptical. This would be the eighth time he had said he'd quit. Of course, he knew it would be hard for him. Max would have to help him along the way.

Finally Max manages to say, "O-Okay..."

"You alright?" Doug asks.

"Yeah, just worried."

"I thought you might be. I'm going to need your help. Watch me, okay?"

"Alright, I will."

"Thanks, Max." (Doug rarely calls Max by his name. In fact, he only usually did it when he was worried about something, so he was sure that Doug meant it this time.) "My mom's calling me, I have to go. See you tomorrow!"

"Yeah."

"I love you, foxy."

I love you too." As he hangs up his phone Max smiles. Doug couldn't just be playing him after saying that. He hugged his pillow close to him, pretending he was holding Doug.

"If Doug is willing to do something so big for me, I have to do something big for him. But what?" It only took Max a few seconds to figure it out. "Simple, I'll just stop being so insecure with myself. I might even let him--"

"Maxy!" he hears his mother call from downstairs.

"Yeah, mom?"

"Come cook diner, would you?"

"Sure."

The next day Max woke up late, it was Saturday after all. He rolls out of bed, pulls on a pair of shorts and goes downstairs.

"Hey, Maxy." His mother greets him.

"Mornin'. Any chance of some brekky?"

"Look in the oven, hon."

"Thanks, Ma."

After breakfast Max decided he would call Doug.

"Hello?" Doug says, answering the phone.

"Mornin', sexy."

"Morning my furry ass, it's one-thirty."

"Yeah, well... I just woke up, chill."

What time do you want me to pick you up for the party?"

"I'll just walk to your house."

"Isn't that a little far or my lil' foxy to be walking?" Doug asks mockingly.

"Shut up, it's half a damn mile."

"What time will you be here, then?"

"I'll try to be there around six."

"Right... so what do you wanna do until eight?"

"I can think of a few things..." Max says jokingly... sort of.

"Oooohhh... naughty foxy!"

"Maybe... Talk to you later, okay?"

"We haven't even talked for five minutes and you wanna leave me?"

"Yep, I'm heartless. Love you."

"Love you too, foxy."

Max lays back on his bed, thinking of Doug and the party. If Doug was serious about quitting the drugs, then tonight will be a hard test for him. 'But I'm trust him.' Max thinks. The only thing that bothered him was the location, Jake's house. 'Why does Jake always invite Doug to his parties?" Max pulls his pillow up to his chest and begins to nod off. He slowly slips away to sleep.

Max wakes up about three and a half hours later. As he looks at his clock he realizes that he should have gotten ready by now. He walks to his bathroom and turns on his shower.

He gets out about ten minutes later and looks for something to wear. He settles for a pair of loose fitting cargo pants and a long-sleeved black shirt. He grabs his MP3 player and heads out the door.

' Max enjoys walking to Doug's house, though he doesn't do it very often. It's a good time to think and clear his head. 'I wonder if Doug is really serious about stopping the drugs this time. He sounded sincere... Looks like I finally got through to him.' He begins to think of his decision to open up to Doug. 'We can't just jump right to it. There are still things I need to clear up before we actually do anything. I am kind of looking forward to it though.' He smiles. 'I wonder how big he is... I hope he's not too big...'

As Max reaches Doug's house he sees Adam, Doug's father, sitting on the front porch. Adam, just like James, wasn't too excited about Max and Doug being together. As he comes up the front porch, Max says, "Afternoon, Mr. Parker."

He nods, "Hey, Max. You come here to wait for the party with Doug."

"Y-yes, sir. Is that okay with you?"

"Of course, after all," He says glaring at Max. "You're his boyfriend."

"Yeah..." Max walks inside. As he crosses the living room he hears Doug talking loudly in his room. Going down the hall he hears Doug's mother, Patricia's, voice. Knocking on the slightly open door, "Knock Knock!"

The voices stop and the door flies open. Patricia hugs Max, saying "Hello, dear! How are you?"

"I'm fine Mrs. Parker. What about you?"

"I'm okay. I'll leave you boys alone, then."

As she walks down the hall Doug appears in the doorway. "Hey, foxy. You're late."

"What?" Max says, raising an eyebrow.

"It's six o' seven; you said you'd be hear at six. You're late." Doug says with his usual foolish smile.

"Well," Max says, hugging his wolf. "I humbly apologize and swear that I will never be late again."

"Shut up and kiss me." So they engage in a loving kiss, rolling their tongues over that of the others, running them over teeth and gums, tasting each other once again. Pulling back, Doug asks, "Now that that's out of the way, what do you wanna do?"

Max's expression grows slightly more serious. "I want to talk to you. Come on." Max pulls Doug to his bed, sits him down and sits next to him, holding his paw. After leaning back and closing the door Max says, "I need to really know if you're serious about quitting."

"Yes. I'm one hundred percent serious this time. Don't you trust me, baby?"

"No, that's not it." Max feels slightly regretful for Doug thinking that. "I trust you completely, I just needed to know is all."

"Why?" Doug asks, cocking his head curiously to the side.

"Because. I've decided to... get over my, y'know... insecurities."

"You don't have to force yourself to do anything just because I'm taking that step." Doug says, looking at Max with concern in his eyes.

"I'm not." Max says equally to himself as Doug. "I'm doing this because I want to. You making your decision only helped me make mine."

Doug looks at Max as if he doesn't believe him for a brief moment and then smiles, pulling Max into a hug. "I'm proud of you, foxy." He leans back, releasing his boyfriend from the loving embrace. "So... when are we gunna... y'know?"

"We'll see. But I can do one thing for you right now."

"Oh?" Doug raises an eyebrow.

"Remember that 'show' you wanted a couple days ago?"

"Uh-huh." Doug looks at him weirdly.

"I think I can try to give you one." Max stands and takes a step back. He takes a deep breath then removes his shirt. Standing for a few seconds, he asks, "What am I supposed to do, exactly?"

Doug continues to smile, saying, "Take it off! Take it off!"

"SHH!" Max hisses urgently. "Your dad will hear you!" Doug just shrugs, not really caring either way. Max stands for another couple of seconds and unbuttons his pants. As he pulls down the zipper Doug lets out a loud whistle. Max tucks his head into his chest and his ears turn red. Within seconds he's down to his boxers. Doug let's out a low murr and props himself back on his elbows. Max notices a large bulge in Doug's groin and he turns even redder.

"Come here." Doug whispers softly. Max takes a step forward and Doug grabs the elastic band of Max's boxers and pulls him on top of him. "You feeling okay? You're turnin' pretty red."

"I'm much better than okay." Max closes his eyes and lays his head on the wolfs strong chest. "I love you, Doug."

"You too, Max. You too."

Knock! Knock! Knock!

"Open door policy, boys!" Shouts Adam the door swings open. He stops and looks down at Max on top of Doug. "Well... you two boys havin' fun?"

Max jumps off the bed and begins to turn as red as possible. "Yes sir... I-I means no sir. I mean..."

"Spit it out, boy, whaddya mean?"

Max looks at Doug for support, then to the floor. "I don't know, sir..."

"Get dressed, Max." Mr. Parker says and walks down the hall.

Doug hands Max his pants and sniggers, "You go SO busted."

"Shut up..." Max says, feeling hot from blushing so hard. "We got busted, not just me."

"Yeah, but I was still dressed, where as you were half naked on top of me."

"That makes you the bottom."

Doug is taken aback at this thought, but quickly recovers and smiles stupidly. "Yeah, well... I'm sure that wouldn't be so bad." Doug puts his arm around Max's shoulder and kisses his cheek. "Let's head into the living room, no doubt we've got a speech waiting for us."

Max slips on his shirt and steps outside of Doug's room. Doug steps out behind him and squeezes his rump firmly. Max turns red again. They enter the living area and sit on the couch, across from Adam. He looks up at them and sighs.

"Listen," He starts. "I'm not mad at you boys. You're just bein' who or what you are. Just..." He rubs his eyes and continues. "Just lock the door next time, okay?" They both smile. "Stop blushin', Max. There ain't nothin' to be ashamed of." Max nods. "Now, you both have fun at the party tonight. I'm gong out, will you be back this evening, Doug?"

"If it's okay with his parents, can I stay at Max's house?"

"Sure, why not."

"Thanks, Dad."

Max waits in Doug's room while he got a shower. It's seven thirty when Doug walks in with nothing but a towel around his waist.

"Hey, sexy." Max says.

Doug closes the door and clicks the lock into place. "Hey, babe. You ready to go?"

"Yeah, so hurry up and get dressed."

"Why?" Doug replies, dropping his towel. Max swiftly closes his eyes and turns away. "You don't wanna look?" Max cracks one eye open and looks Doug in his eyes, questioning him silently. "I really don't mind." He says, smiling broadly.

Max turns and looks his boyfriend up and down. This is the first time he's seen him bare. Smiling, he says, "Damn. So this is what you look like in your birthday suit."

Doug stretches teasingly and says, "Yeah. I think it's my best outfit." Doug grabs Max, lays him down on the bed, and lies beside him. "I bet I make you want to do naughty things to me, huh?"

Max kisses him and rubs his back. "Not yet, okay?"

Doug sighs. "Then can I do them to you?"

Max kisses him again and scritches him behind the ear. "Not yet."

"Okay." Doug returns his kiss. "I have to get dresses, then we'll leave."

"Alright."

Doug quickly dresses and they both depart from the Parker home, saying their farewells to Doug's parents. They jump in the car and they're off. The drive to Jakes house is filled with joking and mirth. Pulling up to the house Doug says, "There's only a few cars here, I guess we're early." After parking on the lawn due to the lack of space on the driveway, Doug gets out and opens Max's door and the both walk to the front deck. Max moves to knock on the door, but Doug grabs his arm and merely turns the knob. "Don't bother, it's not like it's locked."

Doug opens the door and ushers Max inside. Max notices Jake sitting bored on the couch and a few furs leaning against the wall chatting. Jake instantly perks up when he sees Doug enter and he bounds over to greet him. "Hey!" He says, attempting to hug him.

Doug steps back and extends his paw. "Jake."

Jake sighs, but shakes his paw anyway, saying, "Come on, what's a quick hug between two old fuck-buddies, eh?"

Max lets out a low growl upon hearing that and sizes Jake up. He's about an inch taller than Doug and slightly more muscular. He had an air of confidence that bordered on arrogance about him. Max might have even thought he was attractive if he wasn't... well, Jake.

"That was a long time ago, Jake." Doug says, looking at him in an annoyed manner. Then turning to Max, "I'm with this cutie now."

Jake turns to Max as if just now seeing him. "Yeah, for now. Why is he hear again?"

"Because," Max says sharply. "I came with MY boyfriend. Deal with it."

"Rawr," Jake swipes his paw in front of Max. "As feisty as always. Just don't bore anyone to death, okay, lil' fox."

Max rolls his eyes. "Whatever."

Jake walks away to speak with the males across the room. "Don't mind him." Doug says, putting his paw on Max's shoulder. "I'm sure he'll settle down once he had a few drinks in him."

"Sure. I just don't want that dog around you."

"Territory issues, foxy?"

He snorts bad temperedly. "Maybe." Then to lighten the mood, "Who are those guys?" Pointing to the group Jake was talking to.

"Those are Tyler," He indicates the tiger in the group, "Paul," a Rotty, "and Dillan." The Lab. "And before you ask, they're all straight."

"Okay then... What do we do now?"

"Wait for everyone to get here and try to have a good time, I guess."

Within twenty minutes the number of people had nearly quadrupled, and a good number of them had brought beer. Doug had left Max to chat with group of friends, but Max was keeping a close eye on him. Every now and then Doug would look at Max over his shoulder to make sure that he was okay. Max would smile and blow him a kiss each time.

Max makes his way to the couch so he can be closer to Doug. After sitting there watching his boyfriend for a while he feels someone plop down next to him. Turning, he sees a lion staring back at him, smiling. "Hey, cutie." Max could smell booze on his breath. "When did you show up?"

"Um... before you did, I'm sure..."

"Then why haven't I seen you 'til just now?" He puts his arm around Max.

Max, becoming very uncomfortable, "I-I don't know..."

The lion puts his free paw on Max's leg. "You here with anyone?"

Max swallows, "Ye-yes. My boyf--"

"Aww..." the lion cuts in. "That's a shame." He begins to slowly walk his paw up Max's leg. "Hey, what say me and you go hangout somewhere else, huh?" His paw comes to rest on Max's crotch.

Max, now extremely uncomfortable with the situation, "I-I'm g-good. Really."

"Shh..." He squeezes Max's groin. "Come on, it'll be fun."

"D-Doug wouldn't want me to--"

"Oh!" The lion cuts in again. "You're Doug's boyfriend, huh? Max, was it?"

"Y-yeah. Could you m-maybe, stop that, p-please?"

"What? This?" He clutches Max's groin more firmly.

"Y-yes. P-please." He turns his head and calls nervously, "D-Doug!"

"You know, me and Doug never got along too well. Maybe we should - Mmmf!"

The lion falls backward, clutching his jaw, from a hard-hitting punch. "Back up, Zander!" Doug is standing behind the couch, his paws balls into fist and wrath written all over his face.

"You're going to regret that, wolf!" The lion, Zander, says, standing to his feet threateningly.

Doug scoffs. "Somehow I doubt I will."

"Now, now, fella's," Jake says, stepping between them. "Let's not fight in my parents house."

Max stands and holds Doug's arm. "Leave him alone, he's been drinking."

Doug looks from Zander to Max and then back to Zander. HE forced himself to relax. "Fine, but he was beggin' for an ass kickin'."

Jake puts his paws on his hips. "He's right, Z. You shouldn't be advancing on a fur that's already taken. It's just rude."

Max laughs aloud at his hypocrisy. "Oh yeah, you're really one to talk!"

Jake turns and cuts Max a hateful glance. "Shut it, fox!"

Doug puts his paw on Max's shoulder and shakes his head. Max backs down reluctantly. Things settle down and Max and Doug sit on the couch and talk for a while. Jake comes in from the front porch with a stack of boxes. "Pizza's here!" The majority of the party members drift to the kitchen, including Max.

He stands and waits for the swarm around the pizza to thin. While he's waiting he observes Zander holding a zip-lock bag of ice to his jaw. Max walks over. "Are you okay?"

"Fine..." the lion says, turning slightly away form him. "What do you care?"

"It's not like I hit you." Max says indignantly. Then softer, "Here, let me see. Max coaxes the bag away from Zander's jaw. "It doesn't look so bad, you'll live, anyway. Does it hurt much?" Max hates making enemies so he's trying to smooth things over.

"A little, I guess."

"I... I'm sorry... he hit you..."

Zander looks at him puzzled for a second, and then says. "Nah, I deserved this. I was acting like an ass. I'm sorry I... y'know."

"Well, I apologize for Doug. Friends?" He extends his paw.

"Sure." He shakes the proffered paw and a hint of a smile creeps to his face.

Satisfied, Max nods a goodbye and grabs the last two slices of pizza to take back to Doug. Walking out of the kitchen he sees Jake being a bit too comfortable next to Doug. Max crosses the room and sits softly in Doug's lap.

"Saved you some." He says and kisses him. As they pull apart Max looks directly at Jake. Seeing his look of utter loathing, Max smiles.

"Thanks, babe." Jake stands and says, "We'll talk later Doug."

"'Kay."

As he walks away Max asks, "What were you two talkin' about?"

"Oh, nothin'."

"You promise?"

"Promise."

The rest of the party passes with out incident. As they are leaving Doug says goodbye to a few friends and jumps into the car with Max. They make it to Max's house just listening to music on the way. When they get there Doug asks permission to stay over, and of course he can.

Up in Max's room, Doug asks, "So, did you have fun, foxy?"

"Yeah. I was pretty alright."

Within a few minutes Max's eyes are drooping. "You getting' tired, baby?" Doug asks.

"Yeah, I'm gunna go to bed."

"Alright." Doug gets up and walks to the door. "Good night."

Max looks at him asking, "Where do you think you're going?"

"Um... the ... couch?"

"No you're not."

Doug looks perplexed. "I'm... I'm not?"

"Nope." Max pats the space on the bed beside him. "We got room up here for you."

"O-Kay..."

They both lay down on the bed, facing one another. Max rolls Doug onto his back and wraps his arms around him. Laying his head on Doug's strong chest Max says, "I love you, Doug."

"I love you, too, Max." Doug answers, placing his arm on Max's side. Max cuddles up to his big wolf, breathing in his familiar scent. This is where he wants to stay for an eternity. Wrapped up with his love. Nowhere in the world could be any better than this. "Good night, foxy."

"Good night, love."

End of chapter

To be continued in Chapter Two...

Being as this is my first story on yiffstar, I hope that I get plenty of criticism, positive and negative. The second and final chapter will be submitted as soon as I have time to type them. (I have them written in a notebook.) Bye, then!
