All Cuddled Up with Nowhere to Go (ADHG)
So a technician on a remote Antarctic research station gets called to his boss's office the day before he's scheduled to leave...
~2700 words
>*POP-POP-POP*
>You flinch as someone fires off party poppers on the other side of the room, a few jubilant shouts ring out before the volume dies down and the party continues
>All around you are a mix anthros and humans in party hats and festive sweaters, a stereo blares out the usual mix of holiday favorites and shiny tinsel adorns the corners of the room
>Laid across one wall is a table full of rarely seen treats, sugar cookies, punch, a roasted turkey, champagne, and a few bottles of wine you assume one of the higher ups brought out for the occasion
>One could mistake this for an office Christmas party given the dull lobby it's taking place in and how many of your coworkers are partying around you
>But it's still weeks off from being Christmas and you're not in some random office park
>You are currently located in the world's ice box, right on the edge of the Antarctic coastline and hundreds of miles away from anything approaching civilization
>You're employed as a simple comms technician, having ventured out here to spend a season on the ice and collect a nice paycheck before returning home
>It's been a nice change of pace working at an Antarctic research station, but at the same time you yearn for the ability to venture outside without putting a dozen layers of clothing on beforehand
>On the bright side it won't be long before you get to return home, tomorrow marks the scheduled arrival of a supply ship and the end of your rotation here
>You and your coworkers will pack up, board the ship, then sail off to warmer waters while a skeleton crew mans the station until the next rotation moves in
>You sip a glass of bubbly and lean back in your chair, the table you're sitting at occupied by fellow techs and other low-level employees
>Dave, a human coworker of yours, turns to you
>"So Anon, what's the first thing you're going to do when you get back home? Get drunk? Go to a strip club? Start a few fires?"
>"Oh that's easy." You start, setting your drink down. “I'm going to go to McDonkey's and get their quadruple stack, fully loaded, big ass burger with a large fry, large onion ring, and large coke. Then I'm going to eat the whole thing in one sitting and be sick for the rest of the day, that's my plan and I'm sticking to it."
>"Dang dude, you really like that greasy slop so much?"
>"Normally I don't, but the food here has left me wanting something on the not so healthy side. You know what they say, distance makes the heart grow fonder, and hungrier."
>"Ya well I'm going to-“
>He stops as one of the station's administrative assistants, a snow pantheress, walks up behind us and leans down
>"Excuse me, Anon? The station chief needs to talk to you in her office. And Dave, the quartermaster needs to have a word with you."
>You and Dave exchange a few confused glances before awkwardly standing up and shuffling your separate ways
>You walk through the empty halls of the complex as the sounds of the party grow increasingly muffled and the howling outside wind becomes ever present
>You can't believe that the station chief, the feared Daisy Harper, would want to see you
>The towering polar bear woman was a common sight around the complex, usually angrily chewing someone out or barking orders at her underlings
>No one would dare say it to her face, but there were good reasons why she was often referred to as the 'Queen Bitch' in hushed tones and private conversations
>Thankfully you managed to steer clear of her inquisitorial gaze for your entire rotation, but it appears your spotless record may be coming to end with her request to see you
>In any case, you'll be out of here by noon tomorrow so if you're going in for a reprimand you won't have to face the consequences for very long
>As you near her office you hear a new sound come across the air, the muffled tones of smooth jazz coming from right behind her door
>You come up to the door, steel your nerves, and politely knock on it
>"Come in." Sings a voice from within
>You open the door to be met with an unusual sight
>The chief is seated at her desk wearing a low-cut maroon cocktail dress, seated across from her is the quartermaster, an arctic fox dressed in a similarly skimpy strapless top and short skirt
>Each is holding a glass of red wine and in the middle of some banal conversation
>You awkwardly stand by the door for a few seconds until eventually the quartermaster gets up
>"Well chief, I believe it's time for me to split. Dave is probably at my office already and I don't want to keep him waiting."
>"Go get'em foxy!" The chief cheerily replies. “Oh, and don't forget this! Make sure he has a glass or two. It's a very special vintage." She gives the vixen a bottle of wine and they exchange sly smiles
>"Will do chief."
>The fox saunters out of the room and closes the door behind her leaving you and the chief alone
>She refills her glass from another bottle and gestures toward the now open chair
>"Have a seat Anon! I just wanted to have a few quick words before you departed tomorrow."
>You walk forward and sit down in the vixen's residual warmth, caught off guard from the chief's chipper demeanor
>"So, Ms. Harper, what did you want to talk about?"
>"Please honey, call me Daisy. No need to be so formal."
>"Okay Daisy."
>The bear leans forward and props an arm up on the desk, taking a long sip of wine
>As she does so you can't help but notice how the cocktail dress barely manages to contain her bust, her white fur practically spilling out of it
>Guess it must be a privilege of furred women to walk around in such skimpy clothing, even when she's outside you can scarcely remember her wearing anything more substantial than a long sleeve shirt
>Daisy finishes her sip and licks her dark lips
>"I just wanted to congratulate you on a job well done, Anon. We don't get many humans volunteering to come out here for work, I admire your gumption."
>"Thank you for the kind words Daisy, just trying to do my job and have a little adventure at the same time. I believe my time out here has been well spent."
>"Good to hear, do you plan on coming out next season?" She sets her glass down and pushes her shoulders together squeezing her bust. “It'll just be me and a few of the girls here until the next crew comes in, it would be nice to know there's a familiar face on the next ship that comes into the harbor. Gets lonely out here, ya know."
>You clear your throat and look down, why the hell is she telling you this?
>This isn't the chief that you've been seeing around the complex the past few months, now she's open, polite, hell she's even giving you compliments
>And not only that, but why is she wearing a cocktail dress in her office? And what about the quartermaster?
>You fumble your words a bit as you answer, the strangeness of the situation starting to fray your nerves
>"Uhh, well, I'm not really-I don't really know, ya know? I've enjoyed my time here but I may need a little break before coming out again. I'd like to spend some time broadening my horizons, trying some new experiences." You try to let her down gently
>"Hmmm…" She sounds, looking into her wine glass with a melancholy gaze. She absentmindedly stirs the glass around in her hand before sipping the last of its contents down. “That's sad to hear."
>"M-maybe not next season, but you may see me on the season after that. You never know!"
>Her eyes flick up to mine
>"Well, just in case this is the last time we'll be seeing each other let's have a toast!"
>She reaches below her desk and retrieves a wine bottle and an extra glass, filling it up both our glasses and getting out of her seat
>She moves to the front of her desk and rests her plushy butt against its edge, bending at the waist and handing you your glass
>"A toast! To the hard work we've done, to the friends we've made, and to the warm bed that's awaiting us at home!" She beams, a wide smile on her maw
>She clinks our glasses together and raises hers to her lips
>You do the same and take a nice long sip
>You both set your glasses down on the desk
>"Well Daisy, it's been nice talking to you but I think it's about time I head back to the dorms and pack up my things, got to get ready for tomorrow."
>"Of course, of course." She coos, running a hand across your cheek. “I wouldn't want you to be late for the ship. Go ahead and go."
>You get up and move towards the door but as your feet touch the ground something feels…off
>You stumble forward and fall to the ground, the world spinning
>No way it's the alcohol that's causing this, you're no lightweight!
>You turn around and your eyes fall to the two wine glasses sitting on the edge of the desk
>Yours is about half empty but Daisy's is practically full
>A horrifying realization comes to you as you begin to lose motor control
>You stare up at Daisy, the towering bear leering over you with a smug smile, her cold eyes bereft of pity for your situation
>"What did…what did you do?" You mumble, strength fading
>"I just put a little something in it to help you sleep, honey. Sweet dreams."
>"Bu…no…I…" Your mouth turns to mush and strength fades to nothing, the world turning to black

>You awaken to a dull honking
>It sounds far away, and growing quieter
>You open your eyes to be met with Daisy's office
>Sunlight streams in from a nearby window and her desk is unattended
>You're sleeping on a futon with a blanket wrapped around you
>You exhale and your breath immediately turns to frost
>Jesus, it's positively freezing in here
>That far away horn sounds again and you groggily rise to your feet, moving to the window
>You squint your eyes and-oh shit!
>The ship! It's pulling away from the dock!
>Last night, whatever Daisy put in your drink must have totally knocked you out!
>You make a mad dash for the entrance of the building and throw open the doors, icy air stabbing your skin as you run outside without your heavy clothing
>"Wait! Wait! I'm still here!" You impotently shout and wave your hands, the ship now leaving the harbor as it begins the voyage to civilization without you
>You stop and put your hands on your knees, hyperventilating as you realize it's going to be months until another opportunity to leave this icy hellhole appears
>"Ah fuck. Shit!" You shout at the ground
>"Oh, hey Anon."
>You look up to see Dave walking up to you
>You grab the collar of his coat and shout
>"They left us behind man! We're screwed! Oh god…"
>"Hey, hey, hey. Chill out man." He calmly replies, pushing you off of him. “I heard the chief snagged you up so you better go find her."
>"Wha-what?! What the fuck are you talking about?! She drugged me last night and made me miss the ship!"
>"Dude, I know. The quartermaster did the same to me. They picked us out so we could keep them company while we wait for the next rotation to arrive. They just want someone to talk to, and you know, do other stuff with as well." He ends with a wink
>The door to the office complex opens and out comes the quartermaster in all her fluffy foxy glory, she's only clothed in panties and a bra
>"Get over here lover boy! We're not finished yet."
>She grabs Dave by the arm and begins manhandling him back inside
>"It'll be fine dude! Just be sure to stay by the chief though, they shut down the complex's heating during the off season." He shouts over to you as they disappear into the building
>You shake your head in shock and stare at the ground, wrapping your arms around your chest as the cold begins to seep in
>You hear heavy footsteps come up behind you and a heavy blanket is thrown over your shoulders
>"There you are Anon. You weren't trying to hide from me were you? We bears got good noses."
>You shake your head
>"No. I was just watching the ship leave."
>She puts an arm across your shoulders and we begin walking back inside
>"Yep, it's gone for good Anon. No leaving this complex until the next batch of workers arrives. Now I think you deserve an explanation. During the off season they expect a skeleton crew, mostly me and some of the other department heads, to maintain the station. It's lonely work, and those bastards back on the mainland expect us to do it with the heating shut off just because we're all species already used to arctic conditions. So between the darkness, and the cold, and the loneliness, all of us pick out our favorite worker from the newest batch and give them a nice glass of spiked wine. Then they miss the boat and we get to keep each other company until the next boat arrives."
>"This is totally immoral. I wanted to go home!"
>"This complex is your home now. Don't worry, we got plenty of food stocked up, alcohol hidden away, and saucy movies to watch as the days get dark. You and I will be having a lot of fun Anon, just you and me."
>"But I can't survive with the base's heating shut off! I'm a human, I'm not designed for cold weather like you are."
>She chuckles, pulling you closer to her side
>"We have ways of keeping you warm Anon, we have ways."

>"Double kill!"
>"Triple kill!"
>"K-K-Killtacular!"
>The announcer sounds off as you blow Dave off a ledge with a well-timed rocket
>"That's bullshit dude you're screen peeking." He accuses, not even bothering to take his eyes off the screen
>"Ya Anon, stop screen peeking." Adds in the quartermaster
>"I'm not screen peeking stop making excuses for how much you suc-oh come on!" You exclaim as she headshots you midjump, the vixen gekkering as your body falls to the ground
>You look over to her to shoot the vixen a mean look
>She's sitting across the couch with Dave nestled in her lap, he's almost totally covered in her bone white fluff
>"I think that's enough gaming for you all today." Announces Daisy from behind you.
>You're sitting in a similar position to Dave except covered in white bear fur, Daisy's body heat radiating off of her keeping you warm
>She takes the TV remote and switches it off
>"Quartermaster, Dave, leave us." She orders
>"We'll be in our quarters chief." Replies the fox
>The vixen stands up and holds Dave to her chest, walking out of the room with him still in contact with her fur
>When they had left the room Daisy turns the TV on again, this time navigating to a collection of video files with titles that you've become very familiar with over the past few weeks
>"What'll it be this time Anon? Hot Stuff on Cold Ice three? Polar Penetration seven? Intimate in the Igloo four? Bear Babes and Human Hunks: A Gooey White Christmas Edition?"
>"Whatever you want Daisy." You say, looking up at her
>She gives you a smoky look and turns her attention back to the TV, rapidly flicking through yet more videos
>She ends up on 'Bears and their Bed Warmers Six: Hot, Heavy, and Hibernating'
>You lean back into her soft fur and she presses play
>Resting her muzzle on your shoulder, she moves a paw onto your thigh then slowly glides it towards your crotch
>Yep, it's going to be a long, long, time until you get that burger from McDonkey's
