Central Park Zoo: New Arival
At 7:30 P.M a delivery truck pulls up to the unloading station at the Central Park Zoo. As the truck reverses into the place the loud shrill voice of Alice could be heard screaming directions to the man in the truck, "Back it up a bit more Max!
The truck screeched to a halt as Alice pulled up the door taking out a large box marked, Living Creature Inside! Handle with extreme care! She took the box bringing it to the new empty habitat. Mean while the penguins we on their daily surveillance route when they stumbled upon Alice.
Wonder what she got in the box. Men move out!" Skipper barked as the team of penguins dashed and slid along the walls keeping no more then 5 feet behind Alice stalking her carefully. Alice dropped the box prying the lid off with a crow bar as she rolled me out of the box. I was a young little skunk from a little part of the Caribbean; I didn't develop an accent so it was very hard to tell. I had little red and black arm warmers made for me by the people who took care of me before I was sent over to the United States. Alice scoffed and snorted as she picked up the box and said "Huh, what kind of people make clothing for wild animals like that?"
As she walked away the team of penguins quickly made their way into my territory. I was making my way into my new den not able to hear them creep up behind me.
I hummed softly and began to scope out the area, "Oh dear this place is going to need some sprucing up" I said while dusting off one of the rocks.
My voice was higher pitched then most and seemed to lack the necessary bass to make it sound the least bit feminine. Out of the blue I heard the strong strict tone of Skipper's voice belting out "Welcome to the Central Park Zoo!" It came as such a surprise I yelped out in fear "Eeep!"
It frightened me so much that I accidentally skunked a bit, not in full blast but just enough to make small little mist cloud that would fill the air. It quickly began to diffuse into the air as I could hear the symphonies of groans coming from the penguins. I could hear them all scream out, "For the love of...!" said skipper.
"Good Galileo!" Kowalski chimed in followed by Rico's unintelligible grunts.
For some odd reason I listened in on Private's voce, it seemed to ring out the most to me as he said "Oh dear..." while covering his nose.
I turned around to see where the voice was coming from and that's when cupid shot me with one of his love arrows. I quickly rushed over to him blushing under my fur, thank god if was black or else I would be as red as a tomato. I grabbed onto his flipper holding it softly and apologized, "I'm really sorry about that, you guys startled me and I just... it was a reflex?"
I held onto his flipper and smiled kindly, the scent defused and started to fade as he replied back in his British accent, "It's quite alright and we shouldn't have snuck up on you like that."
I was head over heels at this moment he's cute and has an accent it was too much! My tail started to swish around on the floor, my ears perked up quickly as my grip tightened up around his flipper, "My name is Dani what's yours?" I asked him.
"It's Private." He replied.
My ears lowered a bit as I look back at him "O-oh sorry, I didn't mean to-"
"No, I mean my name is actually Private" He said interrupting me before I could finish my sentence. It was really odd to have a name like that but honestly I liked it.
"Oh that's so neat, a bit confusing but still really neat!" I giggled in glee as I looked at him my blush grew brighter and started to show under my fur making my cheeks turning a light shade of pink. He chuckled softly and asked "May I have my flipper back?"
I looked down at my black paws holding onto his flipper, I let go quickly and put them in on my lap. He tilted his head and asked me, "Hey are you feeling alright, you seem a tad pink..." I quickly became embarrassed as looked down at the floor trying to think or something.
"I guess I'm just getting used to the air...that's all." I giggled blushing deeper feeling more embarrassed. The other penguins finally snapped out of there little paralysis; skipper shuddered and looked at me.
"With that kind of skill you should be classified as assailant." He grinned and looked at me with that war happy grin on his face. I giggle shyly and thought; well at least he's not angry about it. He shook my hand quickly making my body shake, for a bird he sure had a strong hand shake.
"I'll expect you at H.Q at about 0900 hours sharp for some briefing! Men lets move out." He said as the penguins one by one slid out of my den.
I giggle loudly and began to twirl around I screamed, "I get to spend the day with Private!" I sat down on a rock thinking about it and quickly gasped as I dashed and grabbed the small box the fell out with me. I looked down inside and smiled as carried it inside, one by one I pulled out different items from small throw pillows to large sheets and curtain. In about half an hour my home was finished, I smiled and lay on my new bed.
"I can't wait till tomorrow!" I said as I snuggled up to my pillow holding it against my face to muffle out my girlish screams. Then all of a sudden it hit me, "What am I going to wear?!"
