A Second Chance
Imported from SF2 with no description.
Brandon, the hero, raised his sword, to commemorate the moment his party had saved the day. The white mage, Garnet, is casting healing spells to treat the wounded, regardless of which side they were on during the fight. The blacksmith/paladin, Gareth, is busy collecting all the weapons, in order to prevent any more bloodshed. (And also to meld them for his future projects.) The summoner/black mage, Wulfgar, summons mythical creatures such as the Unicorn and Sylph to assist Garnet as well as fixing the damaged area due to the earlier fight.
In front of Brandon lies the Lich, the "villain" of the story who wanted to have a confrontation hoping for someone to stop him from doing any harm. The poor lich was created with the purposes of destruction, yet he would like nothing to do with it. However, he had to ask for outside help in order to achieve this goal, and Brandon's party decided to assist him, thus minimizing the casualties to only Lich's minions as well as some minor injuries on the other warriors that agreed to help the group.
The Lich chuckled, "You did it, warrior. You saved the world, I feel reborn without these shackles of mine." He cried, "Thank you, thank you so much, Brandon." Brandon hugged the Lich, "And now, you can have your new life, Lich, no, Garland. If you want to, you can accompany us back to the kingdom."
Lich smiled back. However, he apologized. "I'm sorry, but I can't do that." Brandon jolted, noticing that everything stopped. Everything is black and white now, no one moving except him, the other party members, and Garland. "What's going on? Everyone?! Please snap out of this." Brandon panicked, and he suddenly saw his party members and the Lich standing together.
"We appreciate your efforts, Brandon. Thank you for giving us such great company. However, you are needed somewhere. This "simulation" is complete. It's time for you to wake up, Brandon."
"What are you talking about? I don't..." Suddenly, he saw his body slowly dissipating, tears dropping from his eyes. "No, I don't want this. Guys!" All four of them waved at him, and Garland said, "We'll meet again, Brandon, thank you so much for your help! We wish you good luck."

"Someone press the button!"
"Doctor! Doctor! My son is..."
"Brandon, can you hear us?"
Brandon can hear steps getting closer.
"Oh, Doctor, the simulation... it works. Thank you, thank you!" The woman wept.
Brandon opened his eyes, and asked, "What... happened? Mom? Dad?"
His parents hugged him, and explained as they cried, "Oh, my Son. We're glad you're back. It's been 5 years since you got the accident, and you never woke up. We almost gave up until... until..."
"Hello, Brandon," the doctor introduced himself, "My name is Doctor Garland. Glad to see you awake. For your information, our engineers, Gareth and Wulfgar, had programmed this simulation that plays out scenarios in our coma patients, in hopes that it will trigger brain activity that will help them regain consciousness. Turns out it's a big success." He smiled.
"Now, now, doc, let the boy have some rest, hmmm?" The nurse beside the doctor said.
The doctor chuckled, "Sure thing, Nurse Garnet. Feel free to press the button if you need assistance, Brandon."
Brandon cried. Even though he knew it's a simulation, he made a promise to those "party members." He decided to say this before the doctor leaves the room. "Doc, when I'm healed, can I... assist you guys with the developments for the simulation?"
