The friends that I made through dragons (poem)

, ,

This poem is nothing but a metaphore of how frustrating it feels to have internet friends and having to wait for months, if not years, to meet, without stopping to be grateful for them.

The friends that I made through dragons

are all so good, friendly and gentle

but damn! To spend time with them

I will have to wait for one

to get close to my own home

and bring me there with their wings.

And in this human-ruled world

it's awfully rare for dragons

to fly among clouds in safety

and awfully rare I meet

my dragon and human friends,

that those few times when it happens

I sink them in hugs and gifts.

A handful of days and love,

then we shall rush to return

to our mundane human lives

to not get us searched by someone

who'll find out dragons exist

and put them in big, great danger.

I'm so thankful for my dragons

to take all these risks for us

to spread some more love around,

the same love they were denied.
