Norva : Part 5

The past few months were filled with a few more strange events, but things back home seemed to finally calm down a bit. Malcolm's beach house was fully rebuilt without an issue, and even the greenhouse and workshop went up just as fast. Built exactly how Malcolm wanted it, Norva easily got use to the small changes that were made in the layout of the house. Although Norva seemed to have some trouble learned the layout of the workshop and even a little of trouble in the greenhouse, it was clear that she was a bit more insistent on being closer to Malcolm then usual, as if a bit more protective of him and nearly refusing to let him leave the building or area she was in without going herself.

Christina and Mr. Pipez moved in without a problem, Norva accepting both well enough. Cree and Velin didn't seem to mind at all, and with Norva and Malcolm sharing a room, and in an actual relationship now, she seemed a bit calmer. There was some learning about what Norva was asking for at times, Christina wanting to help out with Norva how she could, but things seemed to be easy going and Christina was learning Norva's improvised sign language well enough.

The two people who had assaulted Malcolm and Norva were rushed through the courts of the Orange Islands as well, and ended up paying for all of the damages, the rebuild, and even some extra that Malcolm used to have all of the furniture in the house rebuilt to what Norva was use to. Malcolm only had to show in court a single time during the whole process even that the judge shut down every obscure type of defense that their lawyer tried to use, unwilling to accept to any excuse for attacking Malcolm in his own home. There was also a massive investigation regarding the death of Boreal Addams, but Malcolm was ultimately cleared of charges even if the police did show up a few times hoping to find any kind of clue who else might have hated the man. Even three months later, there was no proper clues into who could have killed the man, but Malcolm couldn't help but still feel like the message left with the body was directed at them, doubly so given the strange event with the television that night specifically.

As fall came though, the Orange League became the primary theme of the islands. The entire month of August was dedicated just to the Championship Tournament, divided up into three parts, starting with the Assembly of Honor Seekers. There wasn't a single day that anyone on the island could go without a dozen advertisements for the Orange League itself, or the hundreds mentioning the League in someway. Somehow Jordan's boat shop managed to come through with the delivery of the six boats coming through just hours before the deadline set for the maximum bonus that Hamlin Paradise Bakery had offered and Jordan rarely scheduled much in the way during the Orange League to give all of his employees a chance to enjoy the League. He would still give them some jobs if they needed some extra income during the league, but otherwise that was usually their big break for the year.

With Christina and Mr. Pipez help since they had fully moved in, Malcolm had easily finished building all of the electrical equipment that the boats would need despite some delays getting the parts. The hard part was installing all the components properly onto the boats on two different island workshops. The bonus would come through in three parts and Jordan knew that the Hamlin Paradise Bakery was good for it though. It was just a matter of waiting for the checks to come in and clear now, everyone working for Jordan looking forward to a few weeks break and the bonuses now.

While both Malcolm and Norva were very interested in the Orange League itself and would like many other residents be eagerly listening to news or watching broadcasts of the event, the build up hardly mattered to the them and they just took this chance to relax and celebrate a job well done. Even Christina was happy for the break, having some time off from classes right now.

To celebrate, Malcolm and Christina were having something of a game night while Norva was listening to a new set of audio books that Malcolm had gotten her. Mr. Pipez was even enjoying a new set of goggles and surf board, enjoying the beach and the clear waters. A loud ding from the oven got their attention in the middle of the games however. "Pause! Pause pause! I need a moment to pull the pizza out of the oven." Christina stated, quickly getting up as soon as the chance presented itself. Playing Mario Kart on the Wii, Norva had been sitting against Malcolm the whole time, just enjoying her new books while Malcolm and Christina enjoyed some games to relax.

Christina quickly put down her controller on the table right in front Malcolm, and then rushed over to the kitchen to check on the pizzas they had. While it was left over pizza, it would still be just as good though. It would just take a moment to pull it out of the oven and make sure that it was reheated proper. There were some spicy nuggets being heated up for Norva as well.

Norva had been watching them on and off for the past hour as they played a few different games. A few months of bonding, and training, and she could now reliably see things through Malcolm's eyes, not that Malcolm really knew yet. Taking another glance through his eyes, Norva saw Christina's controller on the table right in front her and Malcolm as Malcolm checked the clock on the table.

With the game paused as well, Norva could see the controls very clearly through Malcolm's eyes when he looked back up the screen. "Pizzas and nuggets done. How many slices you want?" Christina called out, getting both him and herself a plate.

"I'll take two of the taco pizza, and a slice of the meat lovers to start." Malcolm stated, turning to face Christina for a moment, just as Norva reached out. She easily found the wii mote, grabbing and carefully feeling over it to make sure she was holding it the right way. Deciding to test herself and see just how much she could see proper and for how long now, but mostly just out of boredom and wanting to do something different with Malcolm, Norva waited. "And half a dozen nuggets for Norva to start." Malcolm added before turning back towards the tv again.

Once his view was on the screen proper though, the game suddenly unpaused. The race had only just started, seconds after the green light to start the race. Both Malcolm and Christina had gotten the starting boost, putting them ahead of most of the computer players, leaving them near the front. Hearing the game unpause however, Christina jolted back around, half yelling at first.

"MALCOLM! Why'd you unpause... pa... me you... ch... cheater?" Christina started yelling, only to quickly lower her voice as she noticed the events on the tv. Anger turned to confusion, and in a way amusement looking at the screen. "How are you in second....?" She asked after a rather lengthy pause.

On the tv, Christina's chosen racer Dry Bones was in first, not making the best turns, but still somehow nailing Malcolm's racer, Luigi with a green shell that was fired backwards.

"I don... wh- I... w... It's Norva! She's got your controller!" Malcolm sputtered hard, trying to keep up but sheer confusion left him at a severe disadvantage right now, only to get nailed again by one of the computer players. The state of shock, glancing back and forth between the two parts of the split screen knowing that Norva had the controller and was driving while she was supposed to be blind had clearly shaken him. He tried to race, unsure what else to do, but to say that this messed with his head right now was an understatement.

"Norva's blind..." Christina stated slowly, moving back over slowly to the living room, now just standing behind Malcolm and Norva, seeing both of them with controllers.

"Tell her that!" Malcolm stated, trying to recover, but still in severe shock as Norva was learning quickly about the game. Although she wasn't managing to take the turns with ease just yet, on the simpler track of Moo Moo Meadows, she only hit a cow once but still managed to keep going with the easy turns for now. It was also only set at 100CC right now, the two of them having been playing a slower speed for the sake of filling out the collection of gold cups obtained, which was also clearly helping Norva learn the game. Christina just remained behind the couch though, sparing glances at Norva who still had her headphones on, but also clearly had her controller.

While she wasn't looking right at the screen, the motions that Norva was doing couldn't be argued with. Norva appeared to be actively pressing buttons, tilting the controller in time with the turns and seemed to be learning to handle the cart better. She knew when she had an item and seemed to understand how to use them with a few exceptions, staying entirely in the lead until the start of the last lap.

As Norva crossed the finish line starting her third lap still in first, the first blooper came up and ink sprayed over the screen. Norva shot up almost in a rage with a loud angry "Gar." making it clear that she was somehow playing the race, and was seeing what was going on. She veered off into the wall a few times, got tagged by a blue shell and clearly wasn't having any of it as Malcolm caught up at last rushing into second just in time for the blots to fade away.

It wasn't enough to help Malcolm though who was still heavily confused, unable to figure out how Norva was playing. Already recovering and taking off once more, Norva was passed for just a second, but timed another shell yet again. Immediately pulling behind Malcolm as he used a mushroom to pass Norva, she slammed the shell at him. Malcolm couldn't dodge and had to use another mushroom to pick up speed again.

There was trouble behind them as a few of the computer players were catching up and lobbing more things at them, but Malcolm and Norva held the lead at the moment. As they neared the finished line for the final lap though, Norva suddenly hit the brakes and swerved to the side. A blue shell right above her, Norva timed it just right to take the hit and catch Malcolm in the blast, bringing them both to a dead stop with no items. A few feet in front of Malcolm with a lighter weight character and a bike with more acceleration, Norva crossed the finish line before Malcolm and then apparently just to have it rubbed in his face, two of the computers passed Malcolm before he could cross.

"I think she kicked your ass there..." Christina finally stated, breaking the silence as the results came up, Malcolm just letting it stay up. He did have a few point lead with Christina, which Norva had just tied for him.

"Norva can now see! Don't matter!" He said and set the controller aside before turning to Norva. "Norva, are you seeing right now?" Norva just gave a small nod. "Can you show how you are seeing?" He asked, her eyes still looked the same to him leaving him entirely confused.

Norva head tilted down for a moment, in thought wondering how to explain this to him, tilting her head back and forth as she tried to bring up her hands to explain something. She couldn't figure out how to explain it though, or at least not how she had been with her improvised sign language.

Unable to come up with anything, she got up slowly, taking his hand and pulling him into the bathroom. She stumbled a few times on things, almost tripping on something on the floor showing that she clearly couldn't see everything, but still managed to get him to the bathroom. She then carefully took his head and made him look around, before finding the mirror.

Making him look into the mirror and standing beside him, she used the mirror to try and explain things. She tapped his face, just under this eyes, and then the mirror. She made a large motion of the entire mirror, and then tapped under his eyes again, before tapping her own face, just under her own eyes, even with them closed.

It took a few seconds for it to click before Malcolm understood, or at least hoped that he did. "You're... seeing through my eyes?" He asked, but it was still hard believe, perhaps harder now that he actually said it out loud. He knew that gardevoirs formed powerful bonds with their trainers. Many would happily give their lives to protect their trainers even if it came to it, and while it was very rare for them to actually need to do it in the current age, it wasn't a question if they would should the need arise. This bond could go much farther though, and gardevoirs were also known to even sometimes predict medical issues that the person that they bonded might have, noticing even small changes about them. He was left wondering how far that bond could go.

Thinking it over, things made a little sense now though. Norva had to wait for him to look at the screen to unpause. When the blooper hit the screen on both of them, he had to focus extra hard on his own section and couldn't exactly even spare a sparse glance at Christina's section of the screen. Even more on the walk to the bathroom, Norva had still been looking down, but still tripped on something, because her body was blocking his sight of the floor. And this wasn't the first time now that he thought about it, thinking all the way back to the day when they visited Professor Ivy with that strange tiara that Norva still made him wear from time to time.

Norva had clearly seen something, she had seen the large piece of equipment almost fall on top of her, but she had caught it and then thrust it into his hands, because she had seen it through his eyes, he had a perfect view of it falling pretty much on top of her. And there was no doubt according to Professor Ivy that she had seen something, but the question had always been how.

Norva merely nodded again, giving a thumbs up to show that it was correct though, that he had gotten what she was trying to say. "So... let me get this right... Norva there can borrow your eyes to see things... Whatever you see, she can see?" Christina asked, having followed along just as curious as Malcolm, Norva nodding again in acknowledgment.

"Looks like it... I'm gonna make a call, Ivy is definitely going to want to know." Malcolm said and quickly moved back to the living room with Norva again. Picking up the phone and dialing Professor Ivy's lab, he waited until someone picked. As soon as he knew it was Professor Ivy, he spoke up. "OK I know it's late, but sit down if you aren't already, you need to hear this."

"Malcolm... what's going on?" Professor Ivy tried to ask, but Malcolm cut her off.

"I'm sorry, but just please, you'll want to sit down for this, we need to talk and it can't wait." Malcolm stated, Norva sitting down pretty much in his lap again to sit back.

"Yes Malcolm, I'm sitting down, what is it..." Professor Ivy stated, sound a little annoyed but letting him speak since he seemed to think it was rather urgent.

"Norva just won a race in Mario Kart..." Malcolm stated, his voice entirely deadpanned and serious, not at all in a joking manner.

There was just silence on the other end of the phone, before Professor Ivy spoke again. "What is a Mario Kart?" She asked a bit confused.

"It's a video game. She played against me and won." His tone remained flat and he paused for a moment before finally adding. "She's seeing through my eyes."

There was a longer pause on the other end of the phone, Malcolm about to say something else before Professor Ivy spoke up at last. "You need to get to my lab now..." She stated, before just hanging up as the sounds of things moving quickly in the background started.

"Well okay then..." Malcolm stated as he slowly lowered the phone.

"That well huh? Didn't believe you? Just hung up..." Christina stated.

"Hung up on me... yes. But she also told me to get to her lab... now." Malcolm replied setting the phone back on the base.

"So much for game night... Well at least Velin is here, so you can head over there right now. I mean its late, but I guess this is kind of important..." Christina stated pulling out her phone. "Add reminder... Today, remind me every year... Norva beat Malcolm in Mario Kart... set reminder." Christina stated.

"Speaking of reminding, remind me, do you still need that special, custom made item you want for Mr. Pipez?" Malcolm asked with a joking, yet ominous tone.

"You wouldn't..." Christina stated, before giving a sigh. "Fine... fine, be that way." She added, throwing her hands up, before Norva just gave Malcolm a small glare herself.

"Go ahead and get something to eat while your out, I'll clean up the house a bit after I get some more game time in." Christina said, before heading over and grabbing them the nuggets and pizza from eariler that they never got a chance to eat.

"This will fill you up on the way there, but I image that you're going to be up for a long long while at the lab. Hopefully its a productive night for you." Christina stated handing them both the food, and then heading back to get her own. Malcolm turned the wii off for now.

"Thanks Christina..." Malcolm stated as he rushed a bit to finish the slices he asked for, Norva doing a little of the same. Once they had both ate, they quickly got ready for a long night, Malcolm grabbing his emergency over night bag before rushing out the door to get Velin's harness on. Once that was done, he came back in and got Norva, before taking off.

Even as Malcolm and Norva walked into the lab, Frank was there rushing up to them. "Whatever you said to the professor has got her in a mess or something. I ain't ever seen this rushed with something for a long time." Frank stated, quickly guiding them to the back.

"Norva beat me in a video game, by using my eyes to see it." Malcolm explained, Frank just giving him and Norva a very weird look.

"I'm sorry... what?" Frank said just horribly confused, but letting it slide. "Whatever, come on. Professor's got half the lab up and running just for these tests she wants to do."

"Sounds about right..." Malcolm sighed, gently leading Norva along.

The next few hours were a long hard process, Professor Ivy not wasting any time with small talk, her curiosity peaked. Having never figured out how Norva was seeing things a few months ago, and now suddenly being told that Norva might be borrowing Malcolm's eyes to see, it was something entirely new for Professor Ivy to explore and study.

Dozens of tests, hours of work, and constant questions. Things didn't seem to let up and Malcolm was just as eager as Professor Ivy to get some answers. Norva went along with it without any major complaints though.

Well after midnight, Professor Ivy suddenly realized the time and gave them a spare room to sleep in for the night, but once they were up in the morning, it was right back to the tests again. Almost a full two days of work only called off once it seemed Norva was far too strained, and Malcolm returned back home to rest, with Professor Ivy promising to call him once all the results came in.

The wait was hard, but at last three days after the tests, Professor called back. "Malcolm! Professor Ivy is on the phone, hurry up and pick up the phone!" Christina called out, knowing that this was one call Malcolm wouldn't miss.

There was a rush for Malcolm to pick up a phone immediately after that and Malcolm spoke up. "Professor Ivy?" Malcolm asked.

"Malcolm... how's Norva doing after we pushed her so hard?" Professor asked.

"Tired it seems. I think doing all that took a lot of out of her." Malcolm replied, looking to Norva taking a nap right now, having laid down early and Malcolm wouldn't argue right now. "She's seeing things right?"

"I have no idea how she's doing it, but yes her brain is processing visual information. Her eyes are useless still, but her brain understands that its seeing something and she's clearly using it to her advantage. Its also clearly tied to whatever your seeing. She's still not stumbling around is she? I know that you wearing those drunk goggles messed her up a bit." Professor Ivy asked.

"Well, it took her a few hours to remain standing on her own again, but I don't know if that was the goggles or if doing it that much just took a lot out of her." Malcolm stated, biting his lip a little before asking the major question on his mind.

"Is... is there any chance that this can... that her borrowing my eyes can... I don't know, help her recover her own?" Malcolm asked.

"I'm sorry to say that her eyes will never function again. There's still a slight chance that she'll need them removed at some point. Organically, they just exist right now. She was lucky that they didn't need to be removed immediately, but there's still a chance that they will later on. As for her seeing things again... well I can't answer that. Until that incident and the tests right after you were attacked and found that dusk alloy headgear, there wasn't any physical hope of her actually seeing again." Professor Ivy explained.

"She continues to be full of surprises though. Between whatever her psychic senses are and now this, borrowing your eyes. If I hadn't conducted the tests myself... well, I'm not sure I'd ever believe it either. At this point, the only thing I can say for certain is that the use the of Recover move won't be enough to save her eyes. There are some pokemon with the the level of cellular regeneration needed to regrow some level of lost limbs, but Recover is more of a healing option for battle damage as it happens, enough to stay in the fight kind of move to my understanding and even in extreme cases, it can't replace what's been lost unless the pokemon in question already had the options to regrow limbs in the first place. Maybe if she had this level of dedication when it happened, she might have have been able to save her eyes a little bit, and in time correct them, but as it stands right now." Professor Ivy continued, trying to be nice, but also knowing that Malcolm needed to hear this again.

"Can she learn to adapt and maybe live a more normal life? That's an entirely different question, but I'm not sure what you might consider normal at this point. Its entirely possible that she can eventually learn to live with your eyes, but as much as I want to explore this option myself, I need to make a few things very clear. If you commit to this, then its a life time commitment. If you take this from her, I can't promise she'll survive. You are effectively giving part of your life to her, and if you don't continue to keep caring for her like you have been for the rest of her lif-" Professor Ivy started to warn Malcolm.

"I'm doing it, even with the risks. Norva is the only real family I ever had, the only true good thing my pretend parents ever gave me. Norva's a part of my life I'm never giving up. I know what means, even for my future." Malcolm stated cutting Professor Ivy off before she could continue too much further.

"Very well. I won't stop you, I just wanted to make sure you know the risks." Professor Ivy stated, taking a few breathes herself. "Look, I won't lie, there's some other things I need to let you know about. There might be some physical side effects from this. You need to make sure you keep good track of your own health just in case... and I'm going to want you and Norva here for other tests every month. I'll give you some time to figure things out on your own, but try to schedule something open... what is it, you're usually free Saturdays right? I'll try to keep the weekends free for you next until you figure out when you can make it here next month."

"Yeah. Yeah, we'll figure out a time for more tests next month. Once the Orange League finishes, I'll figure out what my work schedule is for Jordan and I'll try to keep a weekend free too." Malcolm replied.

"Good. That's what I immediately wanted to discuss. I've got thousands of pages of test results I could go over with you, but honestly, there's not much else to say about it unless you want the technical terms laid out, not that it really changes what I can say about the tests." Professor Ivy stated.

"Thanks... I'll skip the detailed breakdown right now though. I'll just send Velin up to get a copy of the results later to read through on my own though sometime next week." Malcolm said, his pokedex giving a small notice and ding. "I'll talk to you later." Malcolm hung up and looked to Christina now.

"Hey... uh. Listen, I'm gonna give Norva a few days to recover, but if she really can see things... well I think that's cause for celebration. Hamlin Paradise Bakery offered everyone working for Jordan some free goods when we want to collect them, I'm going to get Norva a dark chocolate and coconut cake, and we can have a small party here for her maybe next week after the first bonus comes in, but I'm thinking... I'm thinking I want to do something even more special for Norva once she recovers some." Malcolm said ashe double checked his pokedex again.

"Sounds like a good time. And honestly, I agree. What do you have planned? Need me and Mr. Pipez to take a few days out of the house for you and Norva to cozy up a bit more?" Christina asked with a small laugh as Malcolm was very red.

"Wh-what... n-no! No nothing like that!" Malcolm sputtered, quickly regaining himself, before showing the message on his pokedex. It was a reservation for the Adamant Lounge, one of the deluxe high grade pokemon cafes in the Orange Islands, a place for trainers to take their pokemon and treat them right. While there were a few dozen cafes scattered the islands that held the Adamant namesake, the Adamant Lounges were a little different, and were all high end locations.

Although technically an invite only location for its best services including setting a reservation for the upper lounges, Malcolm still had an invite from his days trainer days on the Orange Islands, just before Norva lost her eyes. It was a life time invitation that he had never used before, but he also never choose to take himself off the list. They clearly didn't mind either and ever since Norva become something of a local celebrity with her ability to hit pidgeotto and kingler from fifty feet away accurately, they occasionally even sent him reminders about his invitation and that he was allowed to visit, perhaps even encouraged.

"Adamant huh... and a reservation for the sky lounge here on Tangelo. Going to wait for Norva to recover so that she can see the sights then? Well, Adamant Lounge is one of the best views on the islands. Just be aware that right now, its going to be a little crowded. While most of the best trainers will be in or around Pummelo Island right now, there will be still be thousands of trainers all over the Islands, and plenty will surely be visiting Adamant. Don't worry though, I'll leave you to enjoy the time with her." Christina smiled.

"Well... the reviews of the Adamant Sky Lounge here on Tangelo has one of the best views on the Island, and given our location, I can see that." Malcolm stated, looking back at some of the images of the view again. "I figure... if she can borrow my eyes, then she can see the islands nice and proper for once."

"Can't argue that. Hope she enjoys the view." Christina smiled.

As the weekend came, Malcolm had somehow encouraged or hoped that he had encouraged Norva to take it easy for a few days for a surprise, just telling her to clean up a bit more then usual. Norva was curious, but Malcolm wouldn't tell her what was going on.

Malcolm drove up in his truck that evening with the setting sun fading fast, Norva in the passenger seat still wondering what was going on. Malcolm had repeated remindedly her not to share his sight for a little bit as they drove into town. She could feel minds all around, and plenty of pokemon around her. She could feel the excitement of the Orange League going on. She couldn't figure out what was going on, but Malcolm seemed perhaps more excited then most.

At last though, Norva felt the truck come to a stop and looked to Malcolm. "Just a bit longer." Malcolm reassured her.

He helped her get out, and just did what he could to help her move through the crowded city. It was thankfully a short walk, and people were already noticing Norva some. There was the usual happy hellos, trade offers, and annoying trainers, but Malcolm wasn't going to let that bother him as he quickly guided Norva into the Adamant Cafe.

Walking in, but heading for the side rather quickly, there was a small scene at the elevators as someone was trying again and again to access the two elevators in the back. "Come on... you stupid machines!" The lady snapped again, nearly stomping her foot.

"Finally, some help." She snapped as Malcolm and Norva walked up. "Look, your stupid elevator to the sky lounges are broken." The lady quickly stated, not even caring to really look over Malcolm, or even look at him at all.

Malcolm just ignored her however, thinking that she was talking to someone else. As he walked up and scanned his pokedex providing proof of membership, the touch pad for the elevator to lit up and asked to verify his identity. He quickly confirmed who he was on the screen as well as which pokemon he had with him, and the doors opened up. Malcolm quickly got on with Norva, only for the lady to yell at him.

"Hey! Excuse you. I was talking you. My elevator to the sky lounge! Fix it." The lady yelled at Malcolm now.

"Ma'am... this is the elevator to the Adamant Sky Lounge, if you have a membership." Malcolm stated, but the lady just scoffed.

"Adamant? No no no, I'm here for the Gilded Glass Sky Lounge, and I will not be late. Now put your pokemon away and help me with this elevator. I know that you're just some servant here, I forbid y-" The lady snapped at him, Norva grumbling and Malcolm just hit the close door button, only for the lady to realize what he did. "Why you! I'm not done with you, I'll have you fired!" The lady screamed, but was quickly drowned out before her rant could go much further as the express elevator took Malcolm and Norva right up the Adamant Sky Lounge.

Malcolm walked Norva out of the elevator and into a large space. There were plenty of trainers and pokemon around, everyone pretty laid back as Malcolm guided Norva into the space. A welcome desk had a few people at it already checking in, but they were quickly seated and moved to their desired services as Malcolm and Norva walked up.

"Hello th... Oh, oh hello Malcolm Silverwinds... and this must be Norva." The lady at the desk smile. "Please, allow me to graciously welcome to your first time here in the Adamant Sky Lounge of Tangelo Island. And I see here you have a reservation for the upper balcony." The lady smiled, looking past them and snapping her fingers above her head. "Sakura, special order here. Reservation for Malcolm Silverwinds."

Norva was only getting even more confused though as she listened in, sparing a glance at Malcolm, who just patted her shoulder a bit, reassuring her that it was all fine.

At once, someone came moving up and nodded, taking an offered mini-clip board and looking it over. "Hello Malcolm Silverwinds, and hello to you Norva. I hope you have a good time." The server quickly lead them down a hall, up some stairs, and to the upper floor of the lounge to the reserved sections. They were quickly seated in a private booth with a window all their own and plenty of seating.

Malcolm guided Norva into the booth, and Sakura set the small clipboard in a shelf by the entrance, letting them enjoy the view and giving them a moment to get comfortable. "As a first time attendee, our floor host Kimberly Jones will tending to your orders tonight. She'll be in here in just a moment." The lady stated, before leaving them be.

Malcolm just nodded and looked to the window that they had. The sun had just set in full, and the full view of the night time festivities of the islands and the Orange League was starting its proper opening celebrations that night in full. Carefully moving over to the window, and just standing there with Norva, Malcolm smiled some. "Okay Norva... if you think you can do it, take a peek through my eyes." Malcolm smiled.

Norva was left a little confused still, but she began to focus and as Malcolm looked around, she could see it all at last. They were up high in the air. She knew by now that surely the sun had set, but there was still plenty of light all over, giving her quite a view right now, and what a view it was now that she had a chance to look at it.

A clear open sky, a bright full moon, and all the lights of the major cities on nearly a dozen of the islands that made up the Orange Archipelago. A few brights began to start appearing and disappearing in the distance, Malcolm focusing in the fireworks. Even so far away, a few islands away even, it was easy to the flashing of fireworks celebrating the first day of the Orange League starting up in full.

Although much too far to make out the fireworks in full, the colors of the fireworks were still bright enough to make out. Norva just gasped out as she realized what was going on. The real fun started on the edge of town however where another fireworks show was starting and this time, it was far easier to make out.

Dozens of fireworks were set off, many just basic colorful explosions of light, but there were also plenty of more unique fireworks. A collection of various pokemon, including a set shaped like the three legendary birds of the elemental islands and Norva was just in awe seeing it. The show only lasted a few minutes, but once it was done, there was a small cough behind them.

Malcolm quickly turned around, even Norva quickly trying to turn around as well, a woman was standing there in a kimono, giving a small bow. "Greetings Mr. Malcolm Silverwinds... and ah, I see our local celebrity, the legend that is Norva has finally graced our presence."

"Thank you." Malcolm said with a smile, already impressed with the service.

"Here are the menus, one for yourself to enjoy a lovely collection of meals prepared here, and this second menu features a collection of our finest treats for pokemon, this one catered to gardevoirs. It contains a wonderful list of hand prepared delights, all natural, all real food, and all freshly prepared with proper ingredients as soon as you'd like to place the order. Of course, there is nothing stopping you from ordering anything you would like for Norva, we encourage trainers to treat their pokemon proper here as long as they are mindful of what is harmful to their pokemon." Kimberly smiled.

"Of course, while your looking over your menus, allow me to get you something to drink first." Kimberly offered.

"Two cheri berry smoothies please." Malcolm stated, easily finding a drink for them both.

"And would you like them served in a tall glass or large handle mug for Norva?" Kimberly asked, looking to Norva, still with the same kind smile, another lovely show of how much care they would give to pokemon.

"Oh... uh... tall glass, for both of us." Malcolm replied.

"I shall bring them out shortly." Kimberly gave a small bow, and then turned to leave them be, once more closing the curtain for them. With their drinks ordered and the twin menus presented to them, Malcolm and Norva sat down at the table as Kimberly went to get them their drinks. Norva once more borrowed Malcolm's eyes, and Norva used a hand to show what she was looking at, making it easy for Malcolm to know what she was focusing on.

A very detailed two part menu, there was a lovely variety of meals for people, and the Adamant had even gave him a menu just for gardevoirs, a series of finely catered meals that would be both tasty and healthy for the species. It was strange looking over the twin menus, Norva unable to read everything, but still able to understand more then enough to know what each menu item was.

By the time that Kimberly had returned, Malcolm and Norva had decided on their choice of meal. A pair of exotic fruit salads, or at least exotic for the Orange Islands, the Hoenn inspired fancy chilled fruits and berries in a light syrup was something that both of them missed greatly from the Hoenn Region, before the forceful move.

The whole time, they even had access to a private television in their booth to watch one of their favorite Orange League contenders, and even got a few more fire work displays in the city. With Norva finally able to see everything for once, to watch and see whatever Malcolm was watching, she was just in awe the whole time.

Malcolm even got both of them both dessert, a few slices of berry cheesecake, and some gourmet chocolate balls. For Norva, borrowing Malcolm's eyes all through the evening was just a delight though as and things calmed down a bit, Malcolm turned towards Norva, rubbing her cheek a little.

"Think you can get use to seeing things again?" He asked quietly, Norva quickly nodding. There was no doubt that she could get use to this, of seeing again. She knew that every day wouldn't be like this, but for right now, there wasn't anything else wanted, just smiling so contently.
