Lost Pieces
Once again, I want to thank Tiberius Rings for writing and sharing Come to Dust and Burn Down the Tower.
I've decided to write another poem based on Come to Dust and Burn Down the Tower. And once again, I'd like to thank Tiberius Rings for giving me permission to do so.
So I was listening to Epik High's "Pieces of You" when writing Lost Pieces.
Please be beware that Lost Pieces probably contains spoilers from Come to Dust and Burn Down the Tower. And there's a possibility I've made errors with respect to the characters and the story, so my sincere apologies.
So time frame wise, I've intended Lost Pieces to take place in the range of from the beginning of Come to Dust (including the prequels to Come to Dust via the special anniversary stories) until around Chapter 18 in Burn Down the Tower.
I know I'm a complete amateur at writing poems. And I'm certain there's at least someone who thinks Lost Pieces is downright terrible. But I hope there's also someone who enjoys Lost Pieces regardless of my amateur skills. Constructive criticisms are always welcome, so I can understand where I can approve on.
The Come to Dust and Burn Down the Tower characters in Lost Pieces are copyrighted to Tiberius Rings.
On that fateful day, at my most vulnerable state
You and I crossed paths and your sad smiles comforted me
You've taught me how to silently endure
And how to silently persevere in this discriminatory world
I've learnt to embrace who I love under your safety
Every night under your embrace with hands locked
I can become a child for a short moment
And indulge myself in the dreams of your fantastical stories
On those unfortunate days, at my most vulnerable state
I release the world's weight as you embrace me without hesitation
Mourning the friends taken away from me
By none other than Dr Jeykll and Hyde in the flesh
As he's about to kill me, you thrusted into him without hesitation
But I fled across the ocean, like the spineless coward I am
Always blaming myself for your death
Until I saw you with him, but not as the same person I once loved
Your flesh
Your soul
I can no longer love the flesh with a soul scattered into lost pieces
I already know I can't turn back time
