Cyrus Krauley:
Your cruel heart's sooty,
Cracking, popping, embers lit
Clean fire in my heart.
Heavy on my mind
Your deeds and your words reside,
Heavy on my life
Your shadow hangs like thick smoke,
You have gone away
And I still wish you were kind,
But you burned in fire
And I still stand in moonlight,
Regretting not kissing you.
The taste Of a sweet summer grape On his lips for years I chased Even now rises the fur of my nape When his face is traced. I strayed And the closest I ever came Was when between us stabbed my blade For power, my ambition to blame. I'm too easily swayed. Wherever He is now, does he too reminisce Of the feeling of my fur? Or regret we never kissed? Chance gone forever.
