The snowy Crypt, Love by the fire.

I tensed my fur, I sensed a fight. I could tell Blaze could to.... She also had tensed up. My muzzle quaked from my throat up. Blaze couldn't fight this other wolf, she had a muzzle on from when a Human had abused her. She was starving and I was going to help her, but the other male wolf wanted her. I held my breath, I had to let her go. This wolf was way too powerful.... WAIT! I don't have to let go! I lunged forward and aimed for where a wolf is weakest, at the neck, just above the heart, the vein that keeps the heart beating. The wolf known as Strong Heart had sensed my move. He dodged it, seconds before i reached him. I ran from behind him and leaped onto his back, clawing my way to the vein that he weakens.

Before he said a single word, he fell to the ground, a hard thud. My silver fur caught the glimps of him breathing and raised. He had surrendered but he couldn't let him get Blaze. He slashed his paw down and saw that he had just had his last breath. He whirreled around as Blaze Mumbled, "Thank you Storm." Her Beautiful white fur was perfectly moonlit, in the wonderful night. I walked closer and grasped the muzzle in my teeth and yanked. The muzzle was a little loose and came off easily. Her muzzle, was squeezed. She had marks that dug into her flesh.

She whimpered a little in pain but licked me on the cheek. My breath now eased. I had held my breath, most of the fight. My stomach ached as if to say, "It's not over." When I turned around, I saw a black wolf pack, one wolf with a cherry red pelt. Some had white fur, some silver. But the majority of them was black.

They all seemed to act weird with extra drool and what seemed like foam around their mouth. Then it hit me like lightning... THEY WERE RABID! I walked closer to Blaze. Blaze gave me a faint whimper as soon as she noticed what it mean't. I grabbed Blaze's white collar hidden on her neck and pulled. She started to walk fast with me, not wanting to look back until we reached the forest. We then started to run in zig zags. Hiding our scent wasn't easy, we loved to roll in elk flesh and eat squirrels and sometimes lay in the grass and star gaze. Right now we smelled mostly of grass. We had slept in the grass after star grazing the previous night.

As soon as we noticed the rabid pack was very close behind we picked up speed. We had gone on top of a hill surrounded by nothing but forest. Deciding what way to go, a rabid wolf came from, North west, North east, South west, South east, North, South, East, and West. The had made a circle around us, and were closing in. Blaze was horrified. I grabbed her collar and yanked her through the biggest opening. Then she started to run as the wolves chased us. We finally came free when hiding in a lake, The rabid wolves passed our earlier tracks and kept running. We swam to the top and Took a deep breath before getting out and running into an abandonded cabin, where an old widow used to live. I had figured out human tricks and locked the door.

We felt safe by the fireplace. Cozy and warm when we fell asleep. I was soothingly licking Blaze, she had shivers up her spine, we lay there, asleep, Cozy on the rug by the fireplace, when a growl was heard from outside, which woke me from my dreaming. But I fell right back asleep.
