Fortune- mini-chapter- How things turned out
#5 of Destiny?
Hi, sorry about taking so long to make such a small chapter, but I'm having doubts on if I should continue this story as long as I would have.
Actually, I was going to quit where it was, but then I thought some people might be sad if I did, so I went a little further, but of course, that got me back into the writting mode.
So here it is-
===========================================================================================
Jack's POV-
Kyle was still silent throughout the rest of the ride home; minus the small conversation of which house he wanted to go to. Surprisingly, he still wanted to stay at Jack's house, but he didn't look himself, he looked blank, not showing any emotion. The only thing that broke the silence was the rain, which splattered against the windshield in an unmerciful torrent.
The walk up to the house was cold and wet, but Jack didn't really care. He was too busy wondering if he and Kyle where ever going to be friends again. Sure Kyle stayed here, but was that because his doors where locked, and his family was out or something? Jack didn't know, but he wished he could see what was going on in the wolf's head. How did he feel; or maybe, how would he not feel, since he was approached by a stupid lion bigger than he was. Jack cursed himself for being so dumb and naïve, what, he thought that if he just, came clean Kyle would go out with him? He should have just left it where it was, now, he didn't know if they'd be friends again.
Kyle didn't have any pillows or blankets in the room he was in for some reason, so Jack had to go down to the closet and get some for him. When he came back upstairs into the room Kyle was using, the wolf seemed more like himself, like he had decided something important or something. Jack decided not to go into it, and just hand over the pillows and blanket; his big mouth had already got him into trouble once today, he didn't need for it to happen again.
Kyle thanked Jack for the blankets and stuff, and then said, "hey, I don't think it's a good idea if you sleep in here or anything."
"Yeah, I know," Jack sighed inwardly, than started out the door.
"I think that's best, because I'm new to this whole boyfriend thing and don't think a relationship of any sorts should be based on sex or nothing, so you know, maybe we should just sleep in separate rooms," he says, then adds sheepishly, "unless you changed your mind, I mean, I know I took a long time to answer."
"What?" asks Jack, astounded, but pleasantly so, "are you sure? You looked weird when I first asked you, what happened?"
Kyle shrugged then said, "well, I was just having a freaky flashback about my life before my new family adopted me, just one of those things you do when mulling something over I guess.
"Well... good," Jack says, glad beyond words, then goes up to Kyle and hugs him, something he couldn't ever have done before. Kyle's fur was soft, and it complemented his small frame well, it felt really good embracing him, even though he thought he might be pushing his luck a little too much.
"Well aren't you friendly," says Kyle, but he didn't pull away, "but I don't want horny lion all over me though."
"Hey, that's not why I-" Jack starts.
"Yeah I know, I was just messing with you," Kyle interrupts, teasingly playing with one of Jack's ears.
"Hey, you know, why don't we sleep together anyway? Not sleep together as in doing anything, but you know, just sleep," Jack suggests. He really wants to know how it feels having someone like Kyle next to him while he was sleeping. His soft fur kind of pricked his curiosity.
"I guess so, I was just saying we should sleep in different rooms so I could give you my answer," Kyle says.
"Cool," Jack says, and gets to work making the bed.
When it was all done, Jack was lying on the bed with his arm outstretched, with Kyle resting against it at first. Then, pretending to be asleep (well, that's what Jack thought it looked like) Kyle kind of rolled against him, so that they looked molded together kind of. Jack was sure Kyle was awake, because when he looked at the side of Kyle's face that he could see, it had gone dark from blushing. So Jack went the rest of the way, and put his arm around Kyle, pulling him closer to him, kind of like a stuffed animal or something. Which was kind of like what it was like to sleep with Kyle, he was like some plush, animal due to his fur. Within minutes, Kyle truly fell asleep, heavily breathing in and out in a relaxing pattern.
But Jack was still awake. He kept going through the day, satisfied of how it turned out, and wished he might relive it again sometime, well, minus the rejection he thought that Kyle had given him. But then again, he could always just go on another date with Kyle, now that they where going out, and didn't have to worry about anything this time, to bad his last plans where all messed up though.
And the irony that Kyle was the one who actually got to choose where they went was not lost on him. But the way he acted, the places he brought Jack, all seemed kind of thought out in their own way. Had Kyle been thinking of Jack the same way Jack thought of Kyle? He smiled, and closed his eyes, glad that he had taken that one step, that set him up with Kyle in the end.

See? This is just a cute little addition to the story. And yes, I am a total girl when it comes to relationships but, meh. If they did do anything, it probably would have been like, quite a few more chapters into it when they knew each other a lot better.
So what do you guys think? Should I just stop the story here? Or keep going and write every morning like I should be doing? I guess the only reason I haven't been is because I'm not a morning person and get lazy, but what do you think? Is this story worth continuing?
