Lewis makes an attempt to calm the Female Tango down.

It's morning at the raccoons' house. The sun shines through the white-curtained window of the master bedroom, creating a dim yellow light that illuminates the entire room.

Lewis, the fox, turns in the bed, causing it to emit subtle squeaks. It annoys Francine, who sleeps unsoundly next to him as he creates slight ruckus after ruckus.

Soon enough, he opens his eyes, and sits up. Fran remains asleep while Lewis yawns and stretches. He stands from the bed, not wearing a single garment of clothing. A few grunts escape his lips and he rubs his eyes.

"This ain't normal." he says to himself.

He finds his clothes and takes them from the floor, his fiery orange fur lighting up in the sun. He slips his loose fitting sweatpants on, not bothering to wear underwear first, before putting his purple t-shirt that's too big on.

He looks back at Fran. Her dark brown hair is a mess and her brown, ringed tail is sticking out from under the covers. He debates whether he should wake the raccoon or not. Deciding against it, he walks out of the room, into the comparatively dark hallway of the second floor.

The air is cold, but he doesn't mind. His bare brown paws make tiny thumps as he walks along the hardwood floor of the hallway.

Without turning on the lights, he makes his way down the stairs. He takes note of the lack of any smells hanging in the air. Normally, someone would be making breakfast by now.

"Man...I really am the only one awake." he scratches the back of his head as he enters the sun-lit kitchen. The same yellow light that greeted him before bleeds through the white kitchen curtains, flooding all the surfaces of the white kitchen with a warm yellow glow.

Sniffing the empty air, he opens the fridge and gazes at the rich variety of color. Grapes, as well as several other fruits and vegetables, take up the top shelf. Ripe tomatoes and leafy greens take up most of the space.

Several types of meats and a few rolls of cheese take up the bottom shelves. Most of it is slabs of steak, along with plenty of bacon strips and some sausage links. One of the cheese rolls has holes, while the other two rolls are solid.

The middle shelf is reserved for milk, eggs, and beverages like soda and juice. There are also pancake leftovers on a plate, wrapped in plastic that shines in the bright fridge light.

The door houses a few boxes of butter and other condiments like ketchup and mayo. Smaller packages of cheese and cans of soda line the small door shelves.

Lewis grunts to himself and closes the door. He doesn't bother looking in the freezer, and decides it's better if he just waits for someone else to make breakfast.

The floor squeaks silently while he wanders around the kitchen table and over to the living room door. He opens it to find the room lit up like the others, as well as the dragon, Female Tango, laying on the couch on her belly. Her tail is wagging through the air, making a faint whooshing sound and she's smiling with her eyes closed.

Lewis grins as happiness overtakes anything he was feeling before. He walks to her and sits on her back, pinning her wings down.

This was a mistake.

Tango springs around to hug him, rolling him into the couch and underneath her. She hugs him while he's pinned, his legs against his chest as she compresses him to no end.

"Lewis!" she shouts, happy as usual.

"Hng! T-Tango...!" he exhales.

"I love you!" she affirms, tail wagging a draft into the room.

Lewis smiles, but his mind quickly shifts to the fact that he can't breathe.

Luckily, Tango pulls away and stares at him with her goofy, grinning guise.

He unfolds himself from the cushions and breathes deeply, before looking up at her and chuckling.

"What's funny!?" she exclaims.

"You, girlie." he replies, patting the seat next to him.

"Ahh! I'm funny!" she sits and nuzzles Lewis.

"Hehe, yeah. What are you so happy for, girl?" he scratches her underneath her yellow chin.

"I dunno!" she cheers.

Lewis laughs and says "You're just happy by default, huh?"

"Yeah!" her tail wags the cushions back and forth.

"Isn't it hard to think with your mind like that all the time?" he asks, smiling at her with his head cocked.

"I don't know!" she smiles.

"Girlie, that's my point. You need to slow down sometimes."

"But I can't!" she argues, still beaming at Lewis.

He grabs her face gently and looks her in her big, green eyes.

"I know you have a disorder, but I know you can overcome that." he says, words growing softer as he doesn't want to upset the large cuddle beast.

"I don't like it!" she frowns and her tail stops wagging.

"I know. I don't like it either, girlie. I think I know what could help, though." he caresses her check in one hand.

"You can help!?" she asks, smiling again.

"Maybe, girlie. Maybe." he clarifies.

"What are you gonna do!?" she stares at him hard, wanting an answer.

"Tango, do you know what meditation is?" he grabs a pillow from the far end of the couch.

"No!" she smiles.

"I'm going to teach you how to meditate. It might help you slow down a little bit. Help you think clearly. You know?"

"I don't know!" she says.

Lewis stares at her for a moment, smiling and chuckling to himself.

"Okay!" he exclaims. "Hold this pillow!" he hands her the pillow he grabbed earlier to her.

After snatching the thing, she hugs it to her stomach and holds it there.

"Now find a comfy position." he instructs, leaning back and relaxing into the couch.

Tango does the same, still gripping the pillow like a hawk's talon to a field mouse.

"Now close your eyes, and just breathe."

Lewis closes his eyes and Tango does the same, except her tail won't stop wagging.

After laughing quietly to himself, he says "Tango, it's important that you don't move, okay?" his eyes remain closed.

"Nhhokay!" she struggles to get her tail to stop.

Lewis waits patiently while she battles with her own tail. Soon enough, she stops it completely. Although, it still twitches a bit.

"Okay, now just breathe slow and deep." he says.

Lewis breathes in and out like he's at the doctors office, being listened to. He also listens for Tango, which isn't too hard. Her breaths are about as subtle as a horse's exhale, so it's easy for him to tell that she's following his instructions.

"Good. Now just clear your mind of everything." he says.

"Everything?" she asks, voice considerably more calm than before.

"Yep. Clear everything, girlie."

"But I like those thoughts!" as quick as it went, her excitement comes back.

"I'm sure you do, girlie. But just trust me, okay?" Lewis grins hard with his eyes still shut.

"Okay." she calms back down again and her breathing reaches its slowest point.

The two sit like this, slowly relaxing more and more. Their bodies soften like cheese in the sun. Their muscles would slip right off their bones if not literally attached.

Lewis fears Tango may just fall asleep, so he opens his eyes and looks over at her. There's a smile plastered on her face, so he assumes she's awake. Then, he reasons that she may just be dreaming about ice cream or grapes, so he stands up in front of her and leans in to inspect her closer.

Tango feels him being so close. She opens her eyes and stares at him with that same smile.

Strangely, she doesn't immediately do anything. The two stare at one another for a few seconds.

"Lewis!" Tango finally cheers. "Did I do good!?" she asks, looking straight at him with big green pearls.

"Yes! You calmed down a lot, actually. You were peaceful. Did you like it?" he pets her under her chin.

"I think so!" she says, back to her regular, excited self.

Lewis smiles and shakes his head.

"Let me lay on the couch with you. I'm gonna go back to sleep." he taps the side of her arm.

"YaY!" she exclaims.

Tango lays down and Lewis lays in front of her. After scooting back into her belly scales, he falls asleep alongside her.

They sleep.
