Chapter Seven

Location: Elaria Capitol, Avalon, Space Port

The rain came down heavy and hard, the smell of wet fur filled the air as white lightning streaked across the sky followed by a cacophiny of thunder claps. A lone Human woman with pail skin, blue eyes, and blonde hair wearing a doctors lab coat stained in a mixture of blood and other unspeakable stains, a black T-Shirt, and blue jeans, stood at the ramp of a two seated wedge shaped craft holding the hand of a Human boy with pail skin, green eyes, and brown hair wearing only a white tunic and black pants standing barefoot in the cold rain. People, both Humans and Pelzigans, walked to and from starships that had entered the Space Port which resembled a stadium with docking rings extending out of it and beyond it, a sprawling city. The lady examined their surroundings, suspicious of everyone around her, she looked down at the young boy and gave a smile as she said "Listen to me Lupin, you need to board the ship and stay there. I've gotta get some supplies for our trip to Leben ok?" In a hushed voice.

The little boy, Lupin, looked back up at her with his green eyes and mouthed something then looked back down. She pressed her lips and motioned for him to go back onboard the ship, once he was back onboard she opened a small panel and keyed for the ramp to close and seal itself. With any luck, none of the security forces from the Ark Facility would be unable to find them before they where gone. She had to rescue the boy from the experiments they had been performing on him, had to try and get him to Leben were possibly Admiral Chekov could take him in and protect him. She shivered as she wrapped her arms around her and made her way through the crowd to a row of revolving doors across the platform leading inside the Port. Main thing was to get fuel for the ship and food for the journey to Leben, the ship they came in didn't have a fast FTL System, could possibly reach Warp Three but that would still be at least several months before they reached Leben. Only downside is that Whitcomb's group would try to capture them and possibly be on their heels the whole way there. She finally reached the doors and entered them when she saw him, a dark skinned man, bald with a trimmed black beard wearing a black outfit standing only meer feet from her. She let out a small gasp as she moved behind him and back into the cloud, then glanced back at him as the crowd moved about their day. Something was off, she thought as she turned to face him and saw that his posture was rather sluggish. He seemed to be moving his head from side to side, watching the crowd like an hunter deciding on which prey to attack. "Oh no..." She muttered as she saw his head twitch, and a trickle of saliva going down his jaw. She looked around for any security personnel, and saw two guards standing on one side of the large closed in area and made her way to them.

"Excuse me! Officers!" She shouted and waved at them. This may cause her alot of trouble, may even set her back several steps, but if she was right then this action would end up saving lives. The officers turned to her and nodded to each other as they walked to her.

"Ma'am?" One of them, a silver haired Wolf Pelzigan said, his voice deep.

"Listen to me, there's a man over there in a black outfit. Officers we need to remove him from the general public because if we don't, we're going to have a horrendous outbreak occur here." She said.

The Wolf Pelzigan sniffed and backed away from her covering his nose and grimmacing. "explain?" He asked examining her.

"There is no time!" She shouted at him, "We need to quarantine him now!" The Wolf Pelzigan began to raise his other paw in a calming gesture to her when there was a scream. They all turned to where the scream came from and saw the man in the black outfit laying on the floor, his body contorting into positions that shouldn't have been possible letting out howls of anguish. "Oh lord no!" She said as she reached for the Wolf Pelzigans sidearm that was strapped to his side. She pulled it out, set it to the highest setting, and aimed at the man.

"The fuck do you think you're doing?!" The Officer yelled as he reached out and grabbed her, then threw her to the ground.

"No god damn it! Kill him!" She screamed as she looked over at the body that was now convulsing on the floor, blood trickling out of his eyes, nose, and mouth, howling.

"Go check on him!" The Officer ordered his partner. "You, be quiet! I'm taking you in!" He said as he lifted her off the ground once he placed handcuffs on her.

"Kill him!" She yelled, kicking into the air and trying to fight the Officer off of her. "Fuckin' kill him! Disintegrate his body before it's too late!" She watched as the other Officer, a brown furred Coyote, made his way to the convulsing body talking into his communicator on his wrist, asking for medical assistance when the body stopped moving. "No....no..." She muttered watching in complete horror as the Coyote knelt next to the body and checked for a pulse.

"Officer Miles here to control, belay previous request, individual is now decease. Send in staff to collect the body." The Coyote said into his communicator. There was some chatter back to him and he nodded, "Copy, we have a Female Human in custody who pointed him out to us, report will be filed within the hour." He continued talking, taking his eyes off the dead Human when the bodies hand twitched. The Coyote's ears perked up, he looked back at the body, and yelped in surprise as the bodies eyes snapped open, the mouth opened and an inhumane howl escaped it's lips. "Oh Gods!" The Coyote exclaimed as he fell backwards away from the body, but she knew what would happen next if they didn't act fast.

"God damn it Officer listen to me!" She screamed. "He is carrying a nest of Parasites that will devour all Humans and assume control of all Pelzigans here. You need to desentigrate the body before it's too late!"

The Wolf looked at her, his golden eyes showing shock and fear as he let her go and took aim with his sidearm after checking to make sure it was on the highest setting. "Miles get out of the way!" He hollered, people saw the weapon being pointed, there were gasps and curses as people quickly got out of the way and away from the now sitting up body that was continuing it's howl. Miley looked over at the Wolf, unable to hear what was being said, but saw the gun and started to get up when the body grabbed hold of his legs and began to drag him backwards. It got right ontop of him, Miley punched and tried to push the body off as black ooz dribbled down the bodies eyes and mouth onto him. He let out a scream of sheer horror as the bodies throat began to expand, almost as if something was coming up. The body looked down at Miley and used it's arms to pin his head against the ground then put it's mouth to his. Miley let out muffled screams as he felt slimey tendrils reach down his throat, making it next to impossible to breath. He kept trying to pull the thing off but to no avail. "Gods damn it!" The Wolf shouted as he ran to the pair. "Get the hell off of him!" he screamed as he grabbed the body by the shirt and began to pull it off Miley. What was revealed, sent chills down his spine. There was a long black tendril connecting from the bodies mouth to Miley's that was pulsating. Miley's screams began to die down as his eyes rolled to the back of his head and he laid still. "No!" The Wolf yelled as he pulled the body off, the tendril coming out of Miley's mouth spewing black ozze and small spidery like creatures onto the ground.

"Oh god...." She said, watching it all unfold as the small spidery like creatures began to scurry along the ground. People yelled as they tried to get away. Several other Pelzigans of different species were too late as the spidery creatures leaped onto them and crawled up their bodies and burrowed themselves into their eyes. Within the next minute, dozens of bodies fell to the floor, the Wolf Pelzigan managing to disintegrate the body before falling to the floor howling in pain as dozens of the black creatures crawled up his body and into his mouth and eyes. She began to run towards the doors she had came through when a shrill alarm sounded.

"Warning, Biohazard detected. Initiating lockdown. Everyone please report to Quarantine Stations." Came a male voice through the intercom. "Biohazard has been detected, all personnel to Quarantine Stations."

She tried to make it to the door but a large meta wall came down sealing everyone inside. She cursed as yellow lights flashed along the walls and the white lights hanging from the ceiling brightened. "Damn it!" She said as the bodies slowly began to stand back up.

Location: Onboard the Elizabeth, Bridge

Captain Davis stood at the center of the small round bridge, examining the displays as information came in when a small holographic Pelzigan Raven wearing a generals uniform appeared next to him. "Captain, we have a situation on Elaria unfolding." He said, his voice soft.

"What's going on?" Captaind Davis asked.

"We have a confirmed outbreak in the Space Port of the Capitol City Avalon on Elaria." The AI said as the viewscreen flicked over to showing a complete schematic of the Space Port. The entrance was engulfed in red which was slowly spreading throughout the inside of the Port. "Authorities have enacted Quarantine Stage One however are losing containment. At the rate of which the parasite is spreading I estimate that we will have full containment failure within one hour."

Captain Davis cursed under his breath, "Notify the fleet!" He said, "Tell all fighters and mechs to launch and form a Qaurantine Blockade around the planet. Notify the Elaria Authorities to begin emergency evacuations of all areas outside of a mile from the facility and to lock down the Space Port fully. Initiate Outbreak Scenario Five." He ordered.

"Aye sir!" The AI responded and flickered away, a moment later the lights dimmed to a bright Orange color and there was a small chime. "Attention all personnel," Came the AI's voice, "OS5 is now going into affect, confirmed outbreak at Elaria Space Port located within Avalon. Repeat, OS5 now going into affect. All pilots report to battle stations, extraction teams to go on standby."

Captain Davis glared at the screen, Outbreak Scenario Five was designated in the event that a populated planet experienced an outbreak and could easily lead to purging the planet of all life in the event it was proven that the outbreak was well out of standard motives of Quarantine. "Communications, send word to the Osman onboard the Retaliation. Notify her on the current scenario here in the Elaria System." He ordered. There was a quick response from the Officer and then Captain Davis examined the viewscreen, watching as the red slowly spread to the other end of the facility. He had to give it to these parasites, they where damn effective.
