#2 of Destiny?

Sorry about taking so much time getting this little bit done, I've had to do a lot of stuff lately, so I havent been able to add much, but I will try to go faster next time though.

Oh, and I think that I will change the name of the series, or try to, since I'm only two chapters into it. SO, here you are then.

========================================================================================

They walked in on a very gross, but funny sight. The vice principal turned out to be a middle-aged chameleon, who was at the moment, was stroking his privates while staring at an image on his computer screen. What made it really funny was that his bulging eyes where both looking on different areas of the screen and he was drooling a bit, making him look brain-dead.

"Umm, Mr. Jordan?" Kyle asks, pretending to be confused and uncertain, even though he knew what he was going to walk in on.

The result was hilarious on the teacher, since he hadn't been expecting anyone. He jerked up as if he had been shot, his eyes widening to the impossible width that only a chameleon could reach; he turned around sharply, with his pants still unzipped.

"Um sir? Your pants are...undone," Kyle points out, continuing his confused naïve act.

"What are you doing here Mr. Eaves?!" he asks sharply, re-zipping his pants.

"Uhh, we where sent up here... and this is the main office anyway," Kyle replied.

"I'll notify that you where up here," he says, "and what you two saw-no thought you saw, just, err. Get out of here!"

"Okay, just as long as you report that we where here, I don't want to get in trouble or nothing," Kyle says innocently, as he walks back out the door, with Jack in toe.

"It depends on your behavior," the chameleon says, obviously threatening them so that they don't tell anyone, "then I'll consider letting go of any punishment that you might have... err had but that depends entirely on you!"

Jack burst out laughing as soon as they where out of earshot, amazed at the corruption of the vice principal.

"How did that guy ever become a vice principal I'll never know," Jack says, clearly amused.

"Well, I think he is related to someone in the board of education or something," Kyle replies calmly, as if he dealt with this stuff every day.

"Oh, and I liked the little 'Mr. vice principal sir?' act," Jack says, imitating a little child's voice.

"I had a lot of experience last year, the principal had something come up and had to leave for a whole month, so I had a lot of time to learn all about the second in command. I don't feel guilty blackmailing him at all, as it turns out, he is a real jerk." Kyle explains.

"Ah, well at least we got off without any problem; I've got to go get my stuff really quick, since it's at the complete opposite end of the school from my next class."

What class would that be?" Kyle asks.

"Uhh, Mrs. Colton's art class."

"Cool, that's my next class too, but I always leave my stuff for class their, see you later then."

Jack rushed off to get his stuff, actually looking forward to his next class.

Kyle smiled as he made his way towards his class. It may have just been his imagination, but Jack seemed to really like Kyle in the same way Kyle did with him. Then he sighed, losing the smile it must have just been his imagination; Jack was probably just a really nice guy and didn't have the same thoughts or emotions Kyle were feeling right now. Which made him feel sad, and the fact that it made him feel sad shocked him; shouldn't he feel glad that he would never end up in a gay relationship?

Ever since Kyle first saw Jack, he had been wrestling with his own emotions; trying to convince himself that there is no way that he liked Jack that way. However, no matter how hard he tried to fight it, he felt that he was somehow, emotionally bound to Jack. As if them being together was something that should happen, that somehow he knew that he needed Jack in his life; not just as a friend, but as a loving companion. Kyle's head was reeling; he couldn't believe he was even thinking these things, it couldn't be right for two guys to be together, it wasn't natural, was it? The weirdest thing is, that he also found himself attracted to Jack's body as well; that was what freaked him out the most, he didn't ever think that he'd feel-well you know.

He eventually got to class, and didn't worry so much about Jack being late. The art teacher was always nice and forgiving; she was one of the few people Kyle did want to hang out with actually. The art class was enjoyable enough even without the art teacher, but she did make it a lot better. Her name was Mr. Kathy, but most people just called her "Katt" for short; she was in her middle twenties, which meant she was constantly hit on by the few people she didn't like, which must have been really annoying.

Jack was only about five minutes late, so Katt didn't even call him out on it, she just went back to going over today's assignment as if he didn't just walk in the room. He sat at the spot Kyle had reserved for him, which wasn't particularly hard since Kyle usually sat by himself.

"Ugh, no one told me this was an advanced class," Jack said, as Katt was explaining the printing procedure, which wasn't that hard.

"It's not, the work is just time consuming that's all," Kyle muttered so that he wouldn't interrupt Katt.

"I don't even know half of the tools she is talking about," Jack mutters back, "why are their so many names?"

"If you get confused, just think of them as 'that sharp thing' or 'that board', but you will probably have to remember all of this in the next test," Kyle says, pretending to be condescending, "oh and your name is Jack by the way, just so you remember."

"Ha ha ha," says Jack sarcastically, but he didn't seem upset.

All they where doing today, was sketching out designs for their printing project; which Jack seemed to be having a problem with.

"Will this work?" he asks, shoving a sloppy drawing of the sun, with clouds and every thing.

"Depends on how much time you want to spend carving this out," Kyle responded guidingly, "see, those clouds will take forever to carve a out with all the different lines in them, and you might want to even out the smiley face on the sun, because that might come back to haunt you, making it ten times harder."

"What if I wanted to do something easy, how would I change the picture right," asks Jack uncertainty.

"If you want easy you should start over and do a simple abstract design, using as few lines as possible," coaches Kyle, as he continued to work on his own sketch, which was much more satisfying that Jack's was.

"Hey, I thought you said to use as few lines as possible," Jack says, indicating the intricate design on Kyle's sketch.

"Yeah but I'm good with sharp things that are used to cut stuff open," Kyle says, pretending to be annoyed.

"Oooh, you must be the master of the... sharp thingy, what's that thing called again?"

"Until you find a vocabulary to finally rival that of a preteen it shall be hereby known as sharp-thingy to you," Kyle declared royally while still working.

"But I'm about to be seventeen," Kyle protests.

"Oh really?" Kyle asks, "well what nine year old did you change bodies with to get into this one?"

"Wait," Jack says, thinking, "I would have to be the nine year old first to have to switch with a seventeen year old."

"Oh, so now you admit to being a nine year old then?" Kyle asks.

Jack opened his mouth to speak, but shut it, cursing himself at being outsmarted so easily.

Jack took the eraser to the paper for what must have been the hundredth time today. This was supposed to be one of the easy parts even! He was glad that Kyle was helping him out. Kyle ended up saving him from committing hours upon hours of work, since he didn't exactly understand what the whole printing business was all about.

The truth was that he wasn't really thinking about his art project. His mind was on Kyle, who was kind of hard to figure out. At times, Kyle seemed like he was almost flirting or something, which was completely ridiculous, because Kyle couldn't be gay; no matter how much Jack wished he was. Then, like five minutes later, he would draw back and be distant for a time, before starting up another friendly conversation. Jack had completely accepted the fact that he was gay, or at least bisexual, but his knew he wasn't thinking right because his mind was thinking up all kinds of radical ideas. He kept thinking of ways, he could tell Kyle how he really felt, which would have freaked the wolf out since he only met him today; he even found himself thinking about asking Kyle out suddenly, then pretend he was kidding. That might work, that way he could see how Kyle would react, without actually sticking his neck out and not endanger their friendship, but that could wait for later. For now, he had to get this freaking project started at least!

Eventually the school bell rang, which Jack hadn't been expecting so soon. This seemed like the shortest class of the day, maybe it was because his project didn't seem to go anywhere, or maybe it was because he had someone to talk to the whole time. He even stayed a little after class and had Kyle help him with his sketch, which Kyle didn't seem to mind at all.

"Ugh, this would be a lot easier if I knew what carving it out was like," Jack says in frustration.

"I don't know, this ones okay, you just have to connect some of the lines together so you don't have to go over it as much. May I borrow this?" Kyle asks, taking Jacks pencil. He leans over a little to Jacks side, and erases some, before masterfully using the writing tool to connect the lines evenly, creating a smoother and easier looking finish on the drawing.

"If it was that simple, why didn't you do that in the first place," Jack asks, "great, all this time and you could've fixed it in ten seconds flat?"

"Yeah, but I thought it was funny to just tell you how, and watch you fail over and over," Kyle says, his voice carrying a hint of a laugh, "you should have seen your face, it was too funny not to allow you to keep trying."

"Jerk," Jack says good-naturedly, as he packs up his things.

"Damn!" Kyle curses as he looks at the clock, "I've missed my bus."

"Hey, I have a car," Jack offers, "how about I just drive you home."

"Okay, even though my mommy always told me not to get into strange people's cars, as long as they have candy! Or I think it was even if they had candy, I'm not sure."

"I guess I can refrain from kidnapping you for a little while," Jack says as he walks out the front door, "but I hope your house is near-by, don't want to get too tempted."

Kyle's house turned out to be only a few blocks away from his own; he could probably walk to his house in about five or ten minutes. He waved goodbye to his new friend and drove the rest of the way home, still thinking about his situation, wishing he could do something about it without fearing the loss of Kyle's friendship.

Kyle walked into his house too be met by his older brother in the living room.

"Who was that, your boyfriend?" Calvin teased when Kyle walked into the room.

"Oh yeah you know it. You know that I swoon over all the new kids, especially the guys," Kyle says sarcastically, but inside, he felt as if someone was filling his innards with liquid fire, the fear was so prominent that he almost felt adrenaline run through his body. He was afraid of what Calvin would say if he ever found out what he had been thinking earlier today. What would he think? Would he end up hating him? Kyle wasn't worried about his foster mother. She would accept him anyway, and would probably even be proud of having a very... diverse person in the family. But what about his brother and sister; would they turn their backs on him?

"Well make sure you don't end up pregnant, I hear that it's very hard to deal with at your age," Calvin snickers.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure he has protection," Kyle jokes halfheartedly, but outwardly goes along with Calvin's cheerful mood.

Kyle shook his head as he walked upstairs to his room. There was no reason to fear what would happen if they knew because there was no way he would let them know. As much as he liked Jack, he couldn't just ask him out or anything. However nice the lion was, he wasn't about to have a gay friend who was attracted to him. He didn't want the lion to hate him since he had to be the best friend he ever had, well, from what Kyle knew of him. He even enjoyed his company more than Felicia's, whom he'd always been to relate to, even if they weren't really blood related.

He rolled his eyes at himself. He was getting way too emotional, and he was making it way deeper than it really was. This was just a... high-school crush, a homosexual crush, but that was all it was, they weren't "bound" to each other or anything. Kyle wondered why he was thinking like this, he was never the romancy- type, sure he'd thought that someone was out their for him. But why was he going too deep, sure he felt these things where true, but it had too pass with time.

Kyle decided to distract himself by working on his new song on the piano. But every other inspiration was of Jack. He found himself thinking up songs that fit Jack's personality. They where light, upbeat, and a little gentle, really it creeped how someone he met earlier that day could inspire him to conduct songs of him.

Maybe he shouldn't have shielded himself from most kinds of contact, that's probably why he found himself attracted to a male. He just felt awkward around people, which wasn't very surprising, considering-

Jack lay on his bed thinking. He knew it was a little falling in love with someone he just met, but, he couldn't deny that that was exactly what had happened. He wasn't sure how it would affect things if he took a chance and asked Kyle out, but he was sure that he would eventually pull himself together and get over his fear. He was going to have to do this delicately though; he didn't want to scare Kyle off or anything, so he had to make this a gradual thing. Kind of like dating, you don't usually propose to someone as soon as you start, you've got to build up a gradual approach, so that you could get to know the person well, and figure out how you would do it.

That's it! A date!

Jack sat up straight in his bed, as the idea struck his brain. His parents would be gone for spring brake, and they always gave him a choice to come with them or not. So all he had to do was ask Kyle over, not really making it a date, but kind of like a night out. Then, he could see how Kyle reacted with just that part, then he could make up a way to ask him out while they where on the little outing.

He felt a little nervous, since he might just be gambling their friendship, but if Kyle acted wierded out, he could just claim it was a joke and be on their marry way.

His fur bristled in anticipation, Spring brake was only a week away, and he needed that time to get to know Kyle a lot better.

Do you think that I rushed that chapter a bit? IT seemed too short, and the charecters progressed a bit too quickly in my opinion, but, I am still learning.
